Exit Strategy comes from former Us Weekly editor David Guggenheim and is described as being in the 24 vein. Guggenheim’s film Safe House, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, just landed on 2010′s Black List, and even though both projects are about CIA agents, the two are unrelated.
Exit Strategy follows CIA operatives who are sent in to extricate other agents when situations go dangerously awry. Hawke would play the head of the team, according to Deadline.

He’s always been my favorite actor because of his (almost always) excellent taste in movies, so I’m in… who am I kidding, he’s my favorite actor because of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Period.
Am I reading this right? This is a TV show? Hawke’s always been a really good actor who, for some reason, hasn’t scored as well at the box office as other higher profile but less talented actors of his generation. Perhaps TV might be a better medium for him. Hey, it hasn’t hurt Rob Lowe or Kiefer Sutherland. The premise also sounds far less over the top than 24. I’ll be checking it out next fall.
i loved mystery date.
I definately hope this TV show is a go and a hit. I’ve been an Ethan Hawke fan since the days of “Dead Poet’s Society” and he will be an excellent performer for the Television industry.
Unbelievable. Ethan Hawke in a TV show? I’m a little speechless now. Hope it’s a hit though. If there’s any justice in this world, Hawke should have whatever role he wants.
Yes, I’d watch that. Ethan Hawke is another actor I would watch in anything, he is always surprising and jsut a terrific actor.
