This should be a great show, as long as the writing is strong. The Black Keys are awesome. Excellent booking.

    • LOL

Good news. The Black Keys should rock the joint.

I would rather have Jerry Trainor – Jim’s successor

      • dnnlnn85

That is hilarious! I love Jerry Trainor and he always reminds me of a young Jim Carrey.

Ooooooh great. I’m verrry happy. I love Jim Carney!!!!

    The Black Eyed Keys?

Just kidding. I think this will be a good episode, just crossing my fingers that the writing lives up to Carey’s talent.

  • Rustinnnnnn

It’ll be nice to see Akron’s finest band, although with anyone but Jim Carrey.

Word. I very dislike Jim cArrey as a funnyman and much prefer him in serious roles. I am not looking forrward to this.

geez Jen, how long did it take u to write this in-depth and informative article?

  • Ivan

The only thing that the actual article expanded on from the headline was the air date.

Jim Carrey’s hot-tub lifeguard sketch with Will Ferrell was gut-busting. Hard to think of a more exciting host.

  • mondo182

Carrey’s last hosting stint had some pretty memorable sketches so I’m fairly optimistic. You know who I’d like to see host though? Danny Pudi and Danny Glover from Community (aka Abed and Troy). Show could use the extra promotion and it’s on NBC too so you’d think it’d be easy to put together.

    • mondo182

whoops, meant DONALD Glover there, not Danny.

    I dunno.
Jim Carrey is great, and SNL has been really strong this season – good cast and writing.
    However,
sometimes when you expect a great show, it falls short.
I didn’t think the Deniro show was as good as I was hoping.
    Stay tuned I guess.

    • Kevin

The 2 times I have seen Deniro host he was terrible. Always looking to the side and reading the q-cards and talking over the other actors….

  • bruno

    sounds worth watching

  • S.O.

YAY Black Keys. One of the top Rock Bands of 2010 is musical guest on SNL. About Time!!

  • Mike Mott

We need Joel McHale to host!!

    • Jenny

I agree! Joel Mchale is awesome. Love the Black Keys, too!

  • s

If he will be as good as he was when he was on “In Living Color” (or whatever it was called) it will be good.

I’m going to try to watch tonight’s episode. But SNL has been kind of hit and miss this season. Not sure how long it has been since J.C. last hosted, but I do remember the first time that I saw him on the show. The skits with Will Farrell, Cheri O’terri, and Chris Kattan were really funny. I guess we will find out soon enough if the show is good tonight or not!

  • Anth

Carrey’s first show was one of the all-time greatest. But that was in an era with Will Ferrell…nowadays we’re stuck with Kristen Wiig. Yikes.

  • toni

Black Keys – ain’t come one, but many tine tanies!
