Skeet Ulrich leaving 'Law and Order: LA'

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate but equally important groups: The people on the first season of a Law & Order franchise, and the people who come in afterward. Sources close to Law & Order: Los Angeles confirm that Regina Hall, Megan Boone, and Skeet Ulrich are all leaving the series, which is currently in the middle of its first season. Hall and Boone both play lawyers on the show, and Ulrich plays one of the detectives. (The news was first reported by Deadline.)

UPDATE: Here’s who’s going to replace Ulrich.

  • The Dude

Did they quit, or were they fired?

    • @TheDude

I am sure they were fired. And did you put The Dude because of American Masters tribute to Jeff? —->

      • Lilly

I think they were fired. So sad for Skeet, he deserves better.

  • PHD

soooo, they cancelled the original for THIS???

    • Lucy

      Exactly!!!

    • MacDee

Exactly PHD! The original’s personal story lknes were JUST getting good.

    • susan

this more than stinks since skeet ulrich was the only reason I liked this show.

      • Shirley

I agree. only reason I watched the show

      • maryland

it won’t be the same without skeet. he was the only reason i watched. why did he leave

      • LLN

I thought/hoped they made Skeet’s death so vague because they would bring him back when they catch the killer. Ya think ?

      • NM

Me too, Skeet was the only reason I watched.

  • Diggity

    I only watch(ed) for Skeet.

    • silkee

      Ditto.

      • DL

I watched for Molina too, but I would much rather see a Molina/Ulrich pairing. I really like Corey Stoll’s lighter Jaruszalski, but Molina has a wry edge to him, too, making Molina/Stoll a lot less interesting. Though either way it would suck with people losing their jobs. NBC still pulling some questionable shiznat.

      • mm

same here – watched because of Skeet.

    • Annia

Same here. He is soooooooooo under-rated as an actor. I hope I’ll see him in something better soon. The guy is sexy beyond words. Best of luck, Skeet! You had me from the moment I saw you in THE MAGIC OF ORDINARY DAYS. I’m sure I’ve seen you before that, but THE MAGIC just did it for me. Heart U!!!

      • Patty

I also liked Skeet in ‘Magic’ which was a good fit for him. The cast of ‘LA’ just does not keep my interest, possibly because I was a big fan of Jack McCoy as the attorney. Bring Jack back!

    • lou

totally disagree on that one. i thought his character was just awful(even tho i do like Skeet)

    • Amanda

      Same here!

    • regina

LLN. i was thinking the same thing

    • Judy

I only watched for Skeet also..

  • t.t

the best law and order I’ve seen is law and order UK

    • GooGoo

You know every script they use were from the orginial series when it started 20 years ago.

      • Steve

I have noticed this as well! I still watch it though because it is my little way of paying homage to the original instead of watching this horrible new replacement called LO:LA

      • Jay

However, the subsequent episodes are original ones written for the British show. Those aren’t available on Netflix yet BBCA yet, I don’t think.

    • Carrie

and you have to admit, the wigs are cool

    • Lorie

L&O:UK is my fave, too. Like Steve, it’s my small way of paying homage to the original. It doesn’t bother me that they’re using old scripts. I really like all of the UK actors, and the stories are good.

I really tried to like LOLA, but I was forcing myself to see it solely b/c of Skeet Ulrich.

    • Ames

Plus Apollo from BSG is on it.

      • Lorie

        He is too, too fine!

      • Rock Golf

        So’s Martha from Doctor Who.

  • Kevin

So far Criminal Intent already begins its final season on USA Network but it looks like the Law and Order days maybe coming to an end especially with SVU and LOLA. Wish the next Fall TV season, NBC can finally get out of the ratings basement.

    • Michael

If SVU ends, it won’t be because of ratings. It’s the highest rated of the LOs and one of NBC’s top rated shows(which isn’t saying much). SVU will go on at least until MH and CM decide to call it quits.

  • Rachel

I liked Megan Boone, she was really good with Terrance Howard.

    • Taye Diggs

I bet Terrance will be next…

  • mickey

Skeet is great on the show. How could they do this?????

  • Barbara Haney

With Skeet gone I am to.

    • sportygirl

I only watched because of Skeet!!

  • mary

What? I love this show! Just don’t get rid of the hot bald guy.

  • isolde

Good riddance! Hopefully, they’ll just cancel the whole show. Serves NBC right for dumping the Original.

  • Lilly

I don’t like cop shows, I only watched LOLA for Skeet, he was so good in Jericho. This show was pretty dull but I hung on, and now that he is gone, I will be too.

  • julie

skeet ulrich was one of the very few good things about this law and order. stupid move. i didn’t watch too many episodes, just wasn’t as good as the original and it was hard getting into it, but now i don’t think i’ll be watching any.

  • jason

Thats a good step..now get rid of the moustache guy. He is also garbage and part robot.

    • The Dolt

They’re using Robocop to fight crime? Exciting.

  • jeff from Jersey, yes New Jersey

Sorry to hear about the changes.

  • steve herrera

L&O LA sucks. They are probably better off getting a head start on new gigs before cancellation.
