Ratings: Football gives CBS a huge boost on Sunday; Golden Globes wins timeslot in viewers and demos

The results are particularly loosey-goosey given the nature of live programming on CBS and NBC, but it looks like the AFC Divisional Playoffs earned a whopping 13.6/35 in primetime, giving significant boosts to 60 Minutes (4.1/10, 17.2 million), Undercover Boss (3.3/8, 13.2 million) and CSI: Miami (2.3/6, 10.3 million). Each 18-49 ratings point equals 1.3 million.

The Golden Globes gave NBC a second place finish for the night in adults 18-49 and viewers (17  million). The three-hour awards telecast averaged a 5.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 17 million viewers, according to time zone-adjusted results. It won its time period among all the key demographics and in viewers.

FOX aired Animation Domination originals last night and ranked third among adults 18-49. It came in fourth in viewers (5 million). ABC was fourth in the demo (2.1/5) and third in viewers (7.7 million), with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition earning a 2.0/5  and 7.9 million, followed by Desperate Housewives (3.1/8, 10 million), and Brothers & Sisters (2.1/6, 7.2 million).

Was totally disgusted with Ricky Gervais, host of the Golden Globes Awards show, last night. His behavior was so rude & then at the end of the show, he said that he “Thank God that he was an atheist.” If he is the host next year, my family will not be watching the show. He needs someone to teach him what class is, because he does’nt know how to act as a gentleman in AMERICA. Sincerely, Joy Slaughter
