ABC has picked up multi-camera comedy The Last Days of Man to pilot.
The concept: “Even though the world around him has declared the traditional male an ‘endangered species,’ Tim Fitzgerald is fighting for his manhood in a world that is being increasingly dominated by women.”
That whole “last real man on Earth” stuff is figurative, by the way, not literal. Tim Allen was in talks on this project about making it his TV return vehicle, but it’s unclear if he’s still in the mix. Jack Burditt (30 Rock) wrote the pilot, with 20th Century Fox TV and Lost Marbles producing. See our 2011-12 development slate for more pilots in contention for next fall.

A 22 minute bud light comedy using recycled “home improvement” jokes. I’d be happier if ABC would just schedule double episodes of Modern Family.
Sounds awful. Guess I’ll stick with cable for comedies because the network comedies suck.
“Increasingly dominated by women” – funny. This sounds like a bad 1950s sitcom about those “gosh darn women.” Why does his manhood have to be threatened? If you can’t hold your own, the problem is probably not your manhood.
Sounds like Ladies Man from the 90s with Betty White and Alfred Molina.
Reheated misogyny.
Oh those poor men! What will they do?
WTF
sounds great. women get away with murder.
Have more faith people. Jack Burditt wrote brilliant episodes for 30 Rock and used to write for Frasier.
But I wish he wouldn’t leave 30 Rock so maybe this sucks?
