'Bones' spin-off casts Michael Clarke Duncan

Michael-Clarke-DuncanImage Credit: PR PhotosMichael Clarke Duncan has joined the cast of the potential Bones spin-off. According to TVLine, the Oscar nominee (The Green Mile) has landed the role of Leo, partner to Walter Sherman, “the Locator” at the center of the series. (The lead role is still up for grabs.) Last week, Bones exec producer Stephen Nathan confirmed to EW that producers were hoping to shoot the back-door pilot — an April episode of Bones in which Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) travel to Key West, Fla., where the spin-off would be set, to use the services of the Locator — next month. “There have been a lot of terrific actors who have come in [for the part of Walter Sherman], a lot of people who everybody has liked,” Nathan told EW. “With a character like this, you just have to find the perfect fit. So even if someone is a brilliant actor, somebody you love, it might not quite work. It’s all casting. You want to find people you want to see every single week do one unique character. That’s why when you have Hugh Laurie, who is essentially playing a very unlikable character, you love to see him. And that is a rare, rare quality to find.”

I like MCD. Please don’t screw this up like you’re screwing up Bones.

Gotta agree. Keep the focus of the show on the cases and perhaps a little on the relationships, not the other way around…. Bones used to be sooo good, it’s almost a cartoony shadow of itself now…

        “almost”?

Or better yet, let the head writers move over to this new show, let it tank. And give Bones the true reset it needs with new showrunners.

      • IUB

Ooh, if Bones really gets a true reset with new writers and say, BB go around the country/world solving obscure murders, I can see Bones going for another few years. Right now, I’m embarrassed I even catch up on Hulu.

Agree, get Bones back to the basics…..solving the crime and finding out who did it instead of wondering who is sleeping with whom …. please.

Whatever kind of shipper nonsense or drama Bones throws at us, ultimately, lots of viewers are not having any fun. I don’t understand all the SN and HH “explanations” about the recent storylines- they’re not working on the screen. If Idols gives Bones a temporary boost, it’ll be the triumph of mediocrity.

Go Pawnee! I’m really hoping Parks & Recreation gets some new viewers.

Takes place in Key West? Right…a few outdoor shots once in awhile on Duval, but everything else on a Hollywood set. Television has a problem with real location shooting for the true flavor of a place. Hell, “Memphis Blues” shoots mainly in New Orleans and CSI NY shoots almost all of their outdoor shots on a Hollywood lot. Sucks.

You do realize that costs more money, right?

TV shows shoot longer and have smaller budgets than movies so it’s less cost-effective to shoot on location.

BONES is the best show on tv and i am addicted to it. I think the show is great with the relationship stuff which adds to every story and and I dont understand all the HATE posted above. IS THEIR SOME RELATIONS PHOBIA GOING ON! Get a grip and stop all the HATEING, BONES AND HOUSE RULE!

    • Jay

      Cheers to that!

  • IUB

Hey, it’s that guy! I wish the actor well, but won’t trust anything that comes from the Bones team.

Speaking of likable sidekicks, I miss Emerson Cod.

i think it is not very appropriit to have sexual language and actoins in here.
you can still have romance without that.
i dont think it is nessescarey to have chest cracks either .not trying tobe rude but thats how i feel.
