In the senior citizen ratings smackdown of the year, Betty White stomped George Segal and Jessica Walter as TV Land unleashed the second season of Hot in Cleveland and revealed new comedy Retired at 35.
Hot delivered a healthy 2.9 million viewers (here’s Tanner Stransky’s recap). As expected, that’s down quite a bit from the sitcom’s record-setting 4.8 million series premiere last year, but still in line with how the show was performing later on. Retired, about a guy who moves in with his retired parents (Segal and Walter) in Florida, lost 31% of its Hot lead-in, delivering 2 million viewers.
TV Land has plenty of Hot to come this year, having ordered 20 episodes, and plans a cross-over with All My Children.

AMC..how exciting for the 2 peeps who still watch soaps.
Stu: The top 6 daytime soaps get roughly a combined 20 million viewers a day… so,,, yea, it’s more than 2.
Just because you and I don’t watch them, doesn’t mean no one else does.
Top 6? There ARE ONLY 6 left. Should read: Stu: The 6 daytime soaps….
Good casting on Retired@35, but couldn’t get into it.

I
like “Hot on Cleveland” but what happened to “Retired at 35″? It’s a good show. Can’t tolerate the new show with that whiny voice woman. The show sucks so I don’t watch it. Not very creative. Woman marries gay man. What were you thinking?
