Image Credit: Harper Smith/FoxGoody for House M.D. and Lie to Me: The Fox dramas not only posted gains in adults 18-49 versus last week but helped the network to post its most-watched Monday of the TV season with entertainment programming (9 million), according to preliminary results. The medical drama earned a 3.7 rating/10 share among 18-49 – up 6% versus last week – and was also the highest rated show of the night in all the key demos. It averaged 10.4 million. Lie to Me posted a 3.7/10 in adults – up 39% versus last week – and averaged 7.6 million. Needless to say, Fox won the night in the key demo (3.1/8). Each 18-49 ratings point represents 1.3 million.
ABC was actually first for the night in total viewers (9.1 million), with The Bachelor averaging 9.1 million and a 2.8/7, up slightly (4%) from last week. Castle – which featured that much-anticipated kiss - closed out the night with a 2.4/7, up 14% from last week, and averaged 9 million. Overall, ABC was second for the night in the demo (2.7/7).
CBS was third for the night in 18-49 (2.2/6) and viewers (8 million), despite airing repeats. NBC, in comparison, had originals from its midseason dramas Harry’s Law and The Cape but the news wasn’t so good for the caped crusader: Week three of The Cape (1.6/4, 5.8 million) was its lowest so far. (Our own Ken Tucker says it didn’t help that the episode was particularly weak, even though Summer Glau is a freaking hoot). But Harry’s Law (2.1/6) kicked some major butt among viewers, averaging 10.3 million.
On the CW, 90210 attracted 1.6 million and Gossip Girl, 1.5 million..

I watched Harry’s Law for the first time last night…but I won’t watch it again. It was predictable, pedestrian, and preachy…in that super-liberal leftie way.
No thanks.
Ummmmm, are you sure those numbers are right for LTM? Are you saying it got the same ratings as House?
Yeah it sounds unbelievable.
And it’s wrong. Tvbythenumbers says that Lie to Me got a 2.5 in the demo. Clearly the EW editors need to proof-read.
Yeah, I didn’t think two 3.7s led to an average of 3.2. Wish they would make the correction.
Sorry, the 3.1 average mentioned in the story.
How did CHUCK do?
Who gives a rat’s a$$ about that piece of garbage.
What’s wrong Barry do smart, funny TV shows that tell a story and interesting characters and story arc’s confuse and frighten you?
What a DB you are Barry just stick to commenting on your jersey shore fansite.
Chuck stopped being funny after the first season. Now all the acting seems forced and unfunny. If you compare it to one of those cheesey soap opra’s you wouldn’t really be able to tell the difference.
But isn’t Lie To Me on the verge of cancellation?
Well Fix would be dumb to cancel after this
they are providing 2 sets of numbers. 1 set is the total number of viewers. the other set is the 18-49 demographic. House had more total viewers but they had the same estimated number for 18-49 yr olds
No, the LTM 18-49 numbers are wrong. Check every other site reporting them.
Aren’t the ratings for GG and 90210 about what Life Unexpected did? And yet it got canned…
Yes, I’m still bitter.
What were the ratings for Chuck?!
Just wondering why EW doesn’t do House recaps anymore…
I like Harrys law hopefully they won’t cancel it like they do everthing else every season
Harry’s Law is good – on my must-watch list.
And regarding recaps, what about The Good Wife?
Doesn’t sound good for Chuck, does it? Although they didn’t mention where it ended up. I think Ken Tucker does recaps of The Good Wife, which is on Tuesday nights.
lolettwilf789 on September 19, 2011 hey i just want everybody to know that scammers are out there and they will take your account and ur neopoints so dont trust these people. they took my account and took away 40,000 of my neopoints. but if they do take them then just quit the game and see the real world cuz u shouldnt put ur efforts into something that isnt even real. if you do so then you will see that you will be much happier
I’m glad to see an audience building for Kathy Bates’ “Harry’s Law.” I’d pay to see Bates read a phone book, but I love her sarcasm in this show! Although at times the show can be a bit on the “cutesy” side, I love its quirkiness. Also, it’s good to see Paul McCrane back on TV as the prosecutor. His character’s quirkiness is almost a match for Bates’.
Hooooray for “Harry’s Law”. I like old lady Bate’s but I adore that little honey, Brittany Snow.
HARRY’S LAW is wonderful. A few gripes about it, but overall it’s pretty solid. Perfect role for Kathy Bates and the supporting cast is good too. Loved the armed robber lady last night, she almost brought me to tears several times with just her expression. Glad the ratings are good, I want to see much more of Harriet and her revolver!
Love, love, love Harry’s Law. Definitely on my “must watch” list.
ABC was 1st in terms of total viewers? I didn’t realize The Bachelor was that big of a hit.
It’s always a relief when sooenme with obvious expertise answers. Thanks!
