If you didn’t catch the premiere of Portlandia on IFC last week, join the club…of losers. Because until you check out this Fred Armisen-helmed sketch show, you’re missing out.
The first episode was a perfect introduction to the uncomfortable, subculture-mocking humor that’s the show’s hallmark, but by no means do you need to have watched it in order to jump right into this week. (Although, if you want a taste of what you missed, you can watch some clips on Hulu.) And below, check out an exclusive clip from the second episode, featuring Parks and Recreation‘s Aubrey Plaza as the unfortunate patron of a feminist book store with the two most awful clerks you’ve ever seen on TV (to the left of Armisen’s gray-haired granola goddess is co-star Carrie Brownstein). Enjoy!
Portlandia airs Fridays at 10:30 p.m. on IFC.

From the clip, it seems a little slow, but it’s definitely got some humor. Funniest line: “Every time you point, I see a penis.”
This video is super slow!
I’m in love with this show.
Love this show.
great show
Love the show. The spoofs of Portland are spot-on. I think I’ve been to this book store. The granola girls weren’t there though. They were in a shop in the Hawthorne.
where is it?
