No, Liam Neeson is not doing a small-screen version of Taken for ABC. But the Alphabet is developing a series that’s similar to the 2008 film about a former spy who’s daughter is kidnapped overseas. In Missing, which was written by Greg Poirier and executive produced by Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo through ABC Studios, a young man disappears while in Italy for a summer internship so his mom travels to Europe to track him down. It soon becomes clear, however, that she’s no ordinary woman. That’s because she used to work for the CIA!
The drama is expected to air this summer.

how is this going to last? You can’t have the kid missing for 6 years. I mean, you CAN, but that’s boring TV.
I have to disagree. I think that the premise is interesting and sounds as if it’ll offer plenty of action. As for the show having the main driving point of looking for a missing person, The Fugitive ran for 4 years.
I mean, each season of the show doesn’t have to constitute a year of life. Look at 24: each season was one day, right? And the first 4 seasons of Lost constituted about 3 and a half months.

Exactly. Maybe Europeans should take this show and turn things around. That might actually be interesting.
It’s unoriginal and shows that are unoriginal do not last. I bet it won’t even last a full season.
“Taken’s” idea wasn’t original, but it is one of the best action movies made after the 90′s.
Ohh and it’s funny that this article doesn’t mention Luc Besson even once, although he was the main man behind “Taken”.
