In addition to the post-game Thriller-themed episode, Lea Michele’s publicist has confirmed an E! report that the actress will sing before the game. Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem, but the Glee star will also perform “America the Beautiful.”

I hope the episode after the super bowl actually is good I am afraid its just going to be this huge production for show but we will have to wait and see…GO STEELERS!

    • Ben

      Yes. GO STEELERS!!!

      • Allison

        GO STEELERS!

    • Aaron

      Yes. GO PACKERS!!!!

      • Reena

Ben…Aaron are you two fighting already LOL save it for the field!

    • Tiffany

      go pack

  • randyfitzimmons

Of course she will. Who wants to take bets that there will be tears?

    • Asha

      Lol, seriously.

  • Carolyn

    She’s a lovely young woman.

    • UGH

I hope she wears that slutty outfit she wore in that GQ spread.

  • Rolo Tomasi

Wait a minute. She’s still on Glee? I thought that gay kid was the only one left.

    • UGH

      You would think.

    • iWoman

Considering she has way more screen time than him, comments like this are just inane at this point.

      • Cantu

iWoman, you’re missing the aim of Rolo Tomasi’s comment: he’s pointing out that the media seems focused on only one character on that show right now.

That would make your comment inane, ironically.

      • Rolo Tomasi

At least you get it Cantu

      • erika

well season 1 was basically all about Rachael and Finn so there really should be a change of pace. Too much drama with those two.

  • Dano

    fap-fap-fap-fap

    • KC

I think I might need to sanitize my remote afterwards as well.

  • dirk

    I am Gleed out….

    • KSG

      Ditto!

  • reason

she is such a cute and talented young woman…but why do I always hate her hair??? Looked much better on first season Glee when it was longer, and she could somewhat pass as a high schooler with it longer too. What is she thinking???

  • Jason

Christina Aguilera doing the National Anthem? Hmm, I can hear it now: “..the bombs bursting in aaaaiiiiiirrrr ooooooohhhwhhhhooooooaaaaaahhhoooooohhoooo hey yyeaaah yyeaaah yeah yeah yyeaaahhhh ooooh yes, ah!

    • sara

seriously. It’ll take her 45 minutes to warble through the first verse.

      • Brandon

Get over yourselves, something tells me neither one of you trolls has a 5 octave range like Christina Aguilera does. And it’s called style. Instead of belting a high note straight on like EVERYONE ELSE (see Mariah, Whitney, Carrie), she does something different with her voice. This is why she is on every “Greatest Singers of All Time” list and none of her fellow, younger contemporaries are. She’s unique. And crazy talented. Can’t wait to hear her kill the National Anthem.

    • Dan

At least it isn’t Taylor Swift singing it
“bombs bursting in air, just after my boyfriend dumped me and I cried myself to sleep while hugging a unicorn..gave truth to….”

      • Jake G

        Who’s Taylor Swift?

    • Cat

      WIN!!!

    • QJ201

Melisma is so over rated. Some singers use that “showy” technique because then CAN’T go for and hit the high note.

    • MissVampireDiaries

I prefer it that. Some of you guys like it flat and boring.

  • Jane

Great. Can’t wait to see her facial contortions and closed eyes at all the “emotional” parts. Gag me.

  • Marie

As if Lea Michele’s ego needed to get any bigger. Seriously, she’s got a great voice, but her personality sucks. I don’t understand how she has fans.

    • Kate

Because she is so insanely talented, i would luurrrrrrrrrve a voice anywhere close to resembling hers!

    • Shurly

I’m one of her fans because she has an absolutely beautiful voice ! I don’t care about the drama surrounding her, I love her voice and the way she sings and that’s all I care !

    • Rusty Shackelford

      Because she’s hot

    • whatevs

It’s ironic, though, that she’s singing a song with the word “beautiful” in the title, as she is not.

      • HGH

I’m sure you’re MUCH hotter, whatevs.

She’s been awesome on the couple talk shows I’ve seen her on, and she’s a beautiful singer. But haters always gonna hate.

      • whatevs

No, I’m not. But how is that relevant to what she looks like?

      • nancy

Hgh you hit el nail on el head. Haters gon’ hate. That’s all there is to it. I must say tho, that this news made my day. Can Feb. 6th GET any better?!?!?!?!?!?!

    • Shadow

Well said. She may sing well, but that doesn’t excuse her egotistical personality.

      • Rolo Tomasi

What? An actor with an ego. Say it isn’t so

    • PJ

Oh Marie, don’t be jealous. I’m sure you’re special in your own way.

  • Shadow

Seriously? Thanks for the update, I’ll be sure to turn on the game a few minutes late.

    • Mel

      for realz

  • Bob

    Does AutoTune work live?

    • Jackie

She doesn’t need autotune. Lea’s performed live plenty of times (how many Broadway shows has the girl done?), and she always sounds amazing.

      • nancy

I love how any headline mentioning glee or its actors gets hundreds of comments! Mostly bitching and moaning and then the diehards that defend lea and the show. I’m a die-hard.

      • Bob

Then if she’s so great, she should refuse to let them use it on her voice on the show. Wait a sec… if she’s so great, then why does she even need it?!?!?

Maybe she’s just a big phoney. Yeah, that’s it. Big phoney Lea on her plastic TV show.

        Lea-hoo-za-her.

  • Ben

I think I’ve really gone off with Lea Michele overload. I used to like her spunky character, but now I don’t like her or her singing on Glee. I’d rather they picked Heather Morris. She rules on Glee.

    • Miss Talk

Okay I knew this was gonna happen someday but let me break it down for you: Heather Morris is NOT a singer! She’s a great dancer that can stay in tune and somewhat act. Lea Michele IS a talented singer and performer.
Anyway, I’m glad they chose two songstresses like Christina and Lea for this, instead of those actual Billboard barbies who can’t sing to save their looks.

      • nancy

Preach baby! I second all that you said!

    • Jack

Except that Heather can’t sing and her character isn’t funny anymore, just pathetically and unbelievably dumb and childlike.

      • skm

I totally agree. Her dumb 1 liners were funny last yr but to have a whole epi 1 after the other about her is trol. Too dumb and inane. Love her dancing but so-so singer. Sorry unimpressed.

  • Karen B.

If there is one thing you can’t deny about Michele, it’s that the girl can sing! She has a beautiful voice. I’ll close my eyes so I can’t see the near-tears expression she always wears (a throw-back to her Broadway beginning). And Aguilerra has a great voice too – I expect she’ll do an appropriately contained version.

That said: LET’S GO STEELERS! TAKE ME TO HEAVEN, WITH NUMBER 7! WOOOOO HOOOOO!

  • Dan

Thank goodness for a mute button! The only thing worse would be if Taylor Swift was singing

    • skm

Just keep it simple. Don’t look at them. And very glad it is no Taylor Swift.
