Fringe showed last Friday’s rating was no fluke, my friends.
The Fox drama delivered 4.6 million viewers and another 1.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating last night.
Fringe held steady despite its lead in, Kitchen Nightmares (4 million, 1.7), dropping two tenths from last week’s debut.Everybody thought Fringe would have to face Supernatural this week, but that face-off has been delayed until next Friday. The CW decided to give the returns of Vampire Diaries (0.6) and Nikita (0.4) an encore airing instead.
Otherwise, the night was quiet. CBS, ABC and NBC had nothing but repeats and news programs, with ABC’s 20/20 (1.7) rating the highest.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Renew Fringe now!
Moving it to Thursday night was a massive mistake in the first place. This show was never made for a HUGE mainstream audience, but has found a home, fittingly, on the original timslot of The X-Files.
Here’s to Season 4.
Fox is going to replay Reciprocity again. Tonight at 11 pm. Fantastic news about the ratings.
Agree, this is THE best show on tv – the best acting (Lance Reddick and John Noble deserve emmy wins), the best story, no filler episodes since the first half of season one, it has been an edge of my seat thrill since the got it going in late season one. FOX should promote it more and acknowledge it as the crown jewel in their lineup.
I second that. YESSSSSSSSSSS + renewal.
Agreed! I am so happy! Fringe DESERVES to be renewed!
Good news, yes!
The quality of this show augment each season. I think too that it’s time to renew Fringe now! Talk to everyone you know about Fringe, spread the love and make the rating go up next week!
No doubt this is good news for fans of Fringe, which I count myself as one. But the real test will be when it is up against stronger and fresher programing. Dateline is cheap NBC filler for holes in their schedule. ABC’s “What would you do?” much the same, and it’s emotionally manipulitive situations make it abhorrent viewing for the kind of demographic Fox wants to attract with Fringe. Supernatural is an example of non-counter-programming and though the series is long in the tooth, it will be interesting to see if its viewers remain loyal.
OMFG I can’t believe this. I am crying with joy. Beside myself with happiness.
Thank god!! Please renew fringe now!
RENEW FRINGE NOW! FOURTH SEASON NOW!
They have great energy. cheresP.S. there might be something wrong with your embed code at the moment; there`s a link to “object width” under the video.
I’m so happy. So very, very happy. I hope we have Fringe Fridays for a few years to come. I love this show.
Give them the keys, Fox. Give them the keys, and save the show.
haha! i love this reciprocity reference!
Outstanding meta reference. FTW!
Best comment ever!
Agreed!
Awesome- that makes me happy!
Great episode. The show just keeps getting better! Can’t wait for season 4!!!
YES!!!!! Let’s keep the momentum going! We want Season 4!!
It helps that Friday episodes have been outstanding.
Comment It was 11 crazy days. We’ve already ptoesd up the happenings from days one to four (here, here, here, and here) and we finally got up the final VLOGs. Part 1 of Fringe Days 5/6/7 is
Fringe is such a special show. Fringe Fridays Forever!
Great news!!
I knew it would do fine. People were acting crazy.
yes but if Fringe had dropped this week with no competition (Supernatural was not on), that would have given serious pause to its viability in the slot. That didn’t happen.
There is no doubt a loyal following for FRinge.I like the show too but 1.9 in the 18 to 49 group is usually the kiss of death for a show…the show should move to cable where these ratings are acceptable
Rich… 1.9 is an IMPROVEMENT on what Fringe was pulling on Thursdays. Fox has said if Fringe held its audience, it would be renewed. The real issue is how much competition it will get from CSI and Supernatural next week.
A 1.9 average on any other night for most of the networks (with the possible exception of NBC because, lets face, virtually all their shows are low rated) would be the kiss of death for a show. But on Fridays, its a whole different ballgame. A 1.9, while not spectacular by any means, is not bad either. And Fringe would never be taken up by a cable network, it just isn’t going to happen. And that goes, really for most every show.
I suspect we should be more concerned for what the competition means for supernatural than vice versa.
then the people will relvot and create a workere2€™s state Then the re-distribution.Then the re-concentration.Then the slaughter. Then the backlash. Then freedom. It’s happened over and over again and is steadily happening in the last Communist holdouts.
This is my favorite show on TV right now,and it’s ratings have held up for it’s move to Friday, but a 4.6 is still a 4.6 no matter how you look at it.It’s not a good rating for a major network TV show, but I hope to hell that it gets re-newed again. There aren’t too many good shows out there right now,but Fringe is one of the best.
Kiss of death for some shows, means the Kiss Of Life for FRINGE !
Not to burst anybody’s bubble, but the real test for Fringe will be when Supernatural and CSI: New York start. Hoping for Fringe to hang around, it’s one of my favorites, but I’m not calling it a shoe-in to be renewed just yet.
That’s great news! I hope it holds steady against SUPERNATURAL next week.
Come on come on come on!!!
I don’t get TV at home so I have to wait to watch Fringe…but it’s the only show I care about right now! Keep the awesomeness alive!
