'Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid' bookends Syfy's big ratings month, 'Shameless' going strong

In a month that saw the premiere of the U.S. adaptation of the British cult favorite Being Human and the net’s reality show Face Off, Syfy has seen a 10 percent increase among adults 18-34. The network’s successful January was capped off by a strong performance (2.35 million) from its Jan. 29 original movie, Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid, starring Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.

Over on Showtime, freshman drama Shameless attracted 1.45 million viewers total on Sunday night, closing out a solid four-week run that outpaced the first four weeks of Dexter, Dead Like Me, and The Tudors. The fourth and most recent episode also posted a more than 50 percent gain among adults 18-34.

It’s good to know people are watching “Faceoff.” It’s actually a cool look at SFX make-up artists. It’s pretty amazing what they were able to accomplish (at least in the first episode) in such a short amount time. The format is stolen explicitly from “Top Chef,” but that’s probably a good thing.

      Nice picture of Tiffany’s talent.

Tiffany’s cleavage was the real special effect of that film. Well worth sitting through the film for her.

I’m enjoying FACEOFF and BEING HUMAN so far.

Why do Americans insist on good British dramas? Seriously Don’t you guys get that its good without a remake in mind?

I just asked my roommate about his favorite show on TV. He loves “Being Human” but wonders if anything is ever lost in translation. I don’t think so, otherwise explain shows like The Office, Friends, IT Crowd, and on and on and on … we seem to hate the British by paying homage to all their shows.

I don’t hate the British! I do love the orig. Being Human, not thrilled with Amer. one. BUT. . . I love the Amer. version of Shamless, UK version, not so much!

I’m enjoying FaceOff, Being Human, and especially Shameless. I had low expectations for all three, but they are getting better and better every week.

Why isn’t EW recapping US ‘Shameless’?! It’s darkly funny and getting better by the week.
