I’m glad they’ll give us a satisfying conclusion. Sadly, I almost forgot it was still on. That’s not a good sign.
I actually DID forget about the show. I was watching that and Flash Forward then Flash Forward just kinda stopped and so did The Event. it wasn’t until last week that I had seen the previews for it and jumped on teh pc to find I had already missed half of what they started to air again. i thought they did cancel it. lol
The story with the girl and fiance sucks. It reminds me too much of early 24 with Jack’s daughter. Always getting into trouble and screaming. It’s so tired and uninteresting.
the event couldve been a really good show if they would just stop jumping all over the place. didnt anybody learn anything from lost? i think would be more suspenseful if it played out in real time like 24.
They actually quite doing flashbacks.
“Learn anything from lost?” If anything is to be learned from lost it is how a serialized drama is done right. LOST was the best show of this century and the flashbacks that helped with character development and non-linear story telling was part of its successful formula. The problem with the Event isn’t that it has flashbacks, but that the flashbacks are poorly executed. They often don’t stay in the same time period long enough, they sometimes don’t add anything to the story (jumping a few minutes back), and they don’t help you get to know and like (or hate) any of the main players.
Can’t wait for the return!
Let’s hope event can turn out to stay on the air.. Good luck, I will be watching!!!!!
Really like Harry’s Law. Hope NBC shows at least one hour recap of EVENT to refresh everyone’s memory as to what has happened so far.
The show has been gone for so long now. (I mean only Lost could pull a hiatus like that – and those started after a couple of seasons.)
But like FlashForward, I would completely understand if this show got canceled.
NBC also said the finale of “Persons Unknown” would wrap things up, too. They lied.
Seriously right, no one else seemed to notice or care i guess but that was some BS, they marketed the show around the concept that “all would be revealed” and at the end of Persons Unknown, they just left it basically where it began. What a croc. Hope they done screw up The Event.
I thought they ‘sort of’ wrapped it but it felt like they left a hole they could use if they wanted to use it as a summer series next year.
I really hope it gets picked up for a season 2, I love the cast!!
They should keep Jason Ritter and then swap the rest of the cast for Hawaii Five-O’s cast. Then the Five-O cast would have an interesting serialized storyline and the boring Event cast could have the run of the mill, non-serialized story they deserve. Oh and keep Zjelko Ivanek on The Event too.
“The Event” returns? Who said we wanted it back?
I wish that they would use some common sense and either move harry’s law to 9 and the event to 10 or move the event out of the horrific time slot that it is in.
The Event needs to have conclusion as should not be renewed for next season!!!
Agree. Just put this show out of its misery.
Howcome the aliens, when they are just with each other, speak English???
Shouldn’t they be speaking alien ??
Maybe because they aren’t really aliens, and are actually Earthlings from the future, who have travelled back in time, to save Earth, or change time in some way to their benefit.
Deep thoughts…..
Because the audience speaks English and having the Aliens speak gibberish and reading subtitles would suck.
No it wouldn’t. It would be way better.
I’ll probably skip this show. The network TV channels have a nasty habit of cancelling series shows like this or put them on hiatus like The Event. Ruins the momentum the show ever had. I’ll just wait for the dvds if they actually complete the story…
I thought this was cancelled. I have checked out of it mentally and don’t remember much of it now.
The break was a mistake. I think lots of people who were still undecided about the show have checked out just like you. If the show couldn’t hold its own in the original timeslot they should have moved it to a different one right away instead of taking a big break where everyone all but forgot about the show.
