First look: 'Transformers Prime' -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTO

The new Transformers animated series is set to launch and EW has the first image to appear online.

Meet Skyquake, a Decepticon attack jet.

Transformers Prime premieres on The Hub on Friday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. and has heavy-hitter producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Fringe, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) along with animated TV producer Jeff Kline on board, plus uses high-quality CGI animation. Here’s your pic…

Mean-looking, huh?

Skyquake’s backstory: “Entombed in stasis on Earth until exhumed by Starscream; however, pledges allegiance to only his ‘one true master,’ Megatron.”

You can tell it’s evil because of the way it’s eyes are slanted. What an ingenious design…

And the eyes are red. Another subtle clue…

Is there a purple robot? ‘Cause I read that means they’re gay. If there isn’t a purple robot, will GLAAD boycott the show?

I am certain that you misread whatever it was you were reading. It actually means that they are awesome and terrifying.

Nice! Loving Transformers Prime – quite possibly best Transformers cartoon ever; maybe even best animated series of the last few years.

A lot of the Hub ads talk about a “New TV” network and NewTV and so on.

Is this a hint that they planning on moving their content to the silicon valley startup called NewTV.com (that I keep reading about? I think it is ex Google and Microsoft people.)
