An ER veteran is coming to ABC’s Private Practice.
Alex Kingston, who played Dr. Elizabeth Corday on the NBC hit, has signed on for several episodes of ABC’s medical drama.
She’ll play a therapist who works with Violet’s character on the show.
Firstly, the article was written poorly; secondly it’s great to see Alex doing more stuff would just have preferred if it was more River Song!

Hopefully this won’t run into too much of figuring out all about River Song on Dr. Who.
Me too! What’s “a few episodes”? Is there a possibility she’ll become a regular, or a regular guest star? Please just don’t interfere with Doctor Who!

Different articles are reporting different characters Kingston’s character is there to help. I hope it is for Addie, given the upcoming sweeps storyline.
OMGeeeee I love her! She was amazing on ER. Too bad I don’t watch Private Practice but I might just start now.
I love medical shows, and adored Alex in ER. I tried to get in to Private Practice when it started, but it was too soapy for me. This will definitely make me check it out again. Great news!
Hmm, they already have two therapists on the show, Violet and Sheldon. I wonder why they need a third. Maybe Charlotte will consider therapy.
