Promo for 'The X Factor': Simon Cowell, broken man?

Is Fox picking up the pieces and starting over with Simon Cowell? The promo for the U.S. premiere of The X-Factor seems to indicate that. The network made an interesting choice of images to tease the fall berth of Cowell’s next talent show, along with the words “He’s Back.” View the whole spot here:

Fox has yet to announce the actual premiere date.

Boo. I wont watch the show. i wish everyone else in american wouldnt watch either but im guessing its not to be

Simon Cowell is a broken man.
I heard he cries and wipes his tears with $1000 bills. (Sarcasm)
He’s powerful and Idol seems to be failing without him, so why is he broken exactly?

    • Sam

Thanks for telling us that was sarcasm. Wouldn’t have got it otherwise. (Sarcasm).

      • whatevs

You’d be surprised at how many people on here don’t have a sense of humor.

    • tomm

“Idol” got some ratings back, now over last year. Tyler is bringing freshness to the show!

  • Sue

SIMON ….Welcome back …we need more entertainment on tv and less repetitive news. And your shows bring great entertainment.

    • ger

Yes, because America is so well informed on what’s happening in the world.

    • Sally in Chicago

We don’t need another singing show…no way….and this promo seems to be all about SIMON…and that’s why AI went down the tubes…it was all about HIM.

  • Buddymoore

I didn’t understand the whole “He’s Back” thing, he’s been gone since May and anybody with half of a brain knew he wasn’t going to stay away from television.

    • flicketyflack

      My thoughts exactly!

    • Truthhurts

“I didn’t understand the whole “He’s Back” thing, he’s been gone since May and anybody with half of a brain knew he wasn’t going to stay away from television”

You forget who you’re referring to, american idol fans, i’d be shocked to find one with as much as half a brain. Thats why they needed to explain it.

    • Elizabeth

      “He’s back”…. in six months?

Really FOX – that was your best effort?

  • andy

he must hate that idol hasn’t fallen apart since he left.

  • Kimmie

Awesome commercial!! I can’t wait for X Factor!! It will be so great to have Simon back; I miss him so much.

  • Truthhurts

No he’s the damn anti-christ and needs to be stopped from dumbing down tv for the lowest common denomenator. Seriously someone set him ablaze please??

  • MaryUtah

Looking forward to the X Factor US – really enjoyed the British version last Fall. Having groups, mentors, etc., adds a nice new element to the Idol like shows.

  • Lindsey

I gave up on American Idol years ago. And even though I’m pretty sure The X Factor is the exact same thing as American Idol, I’m actually kind of intrigued. Simon was the only good thing about Idol, and the whole show was just becoming a repetitive bore. Maybe The X Factor will be refreshing? I’ll give it a shot.

    • Scroobles

Idol is good this year. Why must everyone who posts comments on this site be so negative?

      • Kimmie

Because Idol no longer has Simon, and there is nothing positive about that.

  • Sparky

Who is going to be the other judges on the panel – I seriously hope Cheryl Cole is nt on her way over here. She’s cute but talentless.

    • HoneyB

She’s much better with Girls Aloud. They’re the best pop group in the world.

      • kat

100% agree. She’s amazing with girls aloud and only average solo. They really need to come back.

      • Sam

I agree with you guys she’s better with Girls Aloud but still Chezza is wicked! I think she needs time to adapt because now there’s no Kimberley or Nicola to back her up. I hope she’s a judge on US X Factor and that she’ll keep doing UK X Factor. I hope she won’t tone down her Geordie accent too much

  • HoneyB

I like “X-Factor” much better than the one season of “American Idol” I watched.

  • MWeyer

If this season of “Idol” is proving anything, we need Simon back badly. PLEASE push this show earlier than Fall.

  • noBob

    Reminds me of the t-1000

  • anti

idol is so boring without simon, the judges are lame

  • lily
