Abrams, Nolan pilot gets greenlit at CBS

J.J. Abrams has another project in works for fall: CBS just greenlit his pilot Person of Interest, an hour-long drama being developed by Abrams and Dark Knight co-writer Jonah Nolan (as in, brother of Christopher).

Though details are, naturally for any Abrams project, tough to come by, we’ve finally found this official one for Person of Interest: An ex-CIA hitman and a scientist team up to prevent crimes before they happen. Huh…

Person of Interest is in addition to Abrams’ even more mysterious Alcatraz project and Pulp project.

Sounds interesting and unlike CBS shows

    • lol!

seriously, unless you are catering to the middle american/geriatric crowd, don’t even present your show to CBS. do we really think that the channel that loves its by the book procedurals and slow paced family shows will welcome anything remotely different or interesting?

      • Mike

hmmm…welcome back to 1994! Anyone who thinks How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory are slow paced family shows are still living in the past. CBS has upped their game to America’s youth. LOL indeed! But yeah, this sounds like a JJ Abrams Procedural specifically geared for CBS’s typical dramas. But with his name attached, it may be just different enough to be interesting.

Apparently much of America thinks CBS has interesting showed.

I, for one, am definitely interested in this series. I love Abram’s work, and if Jonah Nolan is half as talented as his brother, this series should be both engaging and entertaining.

      • Tarc

Jonah writes or co-writes almost everything Christopher Nolan directs. So yeah, if you like one Nolan, you’re extraordinarily likely to like the work of the other one.

‘unlike’????? No more crime solving shows!! enough enough enough.

  • juli

So, the science team will be able to see into the future?

    • Brian

      Sounds like Minority Report, yeah.

      • ari

        I agree

  • ck

One less spot for the SMG pilot to land

  • topoopon

    Minority Report?

  • BH

Is this the TV show that will have Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson in it or was that a different Abrams show? I only ask because this sounds like something I can see them doing.

    • A

I don’t think it is, but I agree that I could see them in this show.

    • ktwolf

I was wondering the same thing… it sounds kinda like what they’d been talking about doing together.

    • Mike

Different. Odd Jobs has been put on hold until NEXT pilot season. At least that’s the last I heard. Definitely sad news! At least Alcatraz is in the works (another Abrams show with Jorge Garcia). JJ’s company has a lot of shows for the fall, surely one of them will be a hit!

  • Tye-Grr

Soooo…. It’s ‘Minority Report’ the series.

I hope they surprise us with something a little fresher than that.

    • Jeff

Exactly. And let’s hope it’s better than Undercovers.

  • Red Snapper

So do they get their information from a newspaper?

    • Kat

And is that newspaper brought a day early by a mysterious cat?

      • lol!

        yes! ftw!

      • Truthhurts

nah, it will be delivered by joop!

  • Liva

Just like with actors, I’d love to see some new blood get ‘green-lit’. Abrams, Kelley, Schlamme … same guys with similar ideas repeated. Come on networks, show some range!

  • Brian

This sounds like a perfect fit for the Emerson/O’Quinn pairing that is supposed to be in the works.

  • Beast-Man

All you had to say was Abrams and Nolan, I’m in!
