Image Credit: Quantrell Colbert/The CWThe extended promo for this Thursday’s episode of The Vampire Diaries shows werewolves both interrupting Elena’s and Stefan’s ill-timed romantic getaway and torturing Damon. What it doesn’t show: We may finally see Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) kiss. “Things definitely start to heat up and they start becoming a little more involved,” McQueen tells EW. (Even though we saw them walk away from Jonas last week arm-and-arm, they aren’t yet together, he says. We didn’t miss an off-screen hook up.) Told that Kevin Williamson has teased that we’ll see a kiss “sooner rather than later,” McQueen still plays coy when asked if this is, in fact, the hour. “I would watch this next episode and see,” he says. Assuming he’s already filmed the kiss to air at some point, we asked him to describe the staging. “If this hypothetical kiss happened,” he says, “I might have just grabbed her and gone for it. I don’t know.” (Knowing that Jeremy trying to kiss Bonnie at the end of the December cliffhanger was McQueen feeling the moment and improvising, we’d like to believe this.)
McQueen’s also purposefully vague while answering a few other burning questions:
• Will Luka and Jonas ever use Jeremy to get to Bonnie? “There’s definitely a conflict coming up,” he says, before clamming up.
• What impact will Uncle John’s return have on Jeremy? “Jeremy and Uncle John’s relationship is as complicated as they come,” he says. “One half of him is interested in Uncle John. He knows more about his father than Jeremy does, and Jeremy’s just finding out that his father was involved in this whole vampire-hunting world. He’s also involved in this family legacy that I’m supposed to follow. The other half of Jeremy doesn’t believe vampires are such bad people. He’s friends with some and was in love with another — and Uncle John killed her. He’s pulled in two different directions. I think at some point Jeremy is going to be trained in the art of vampire-hunting. Whether that’s Uncle John or Alaric has yet to be seen.”
• As the show’s gotten darker, we’ve seen more action sequences. Will Jeremy get physical? “I hope so. I hope the day comes when I get to roll up on a motorcycle with a sawed-off shotgun,” he says, “but that has to be written.”
• Has he ever asked the writers why Jeremy’s sister, Elena, who we’re told needs to be sacrificed by a wolf or vampire to break a curse, can’t just wear the ring he’s currently sporting that keeps its human bearer from dying a supernatural death? “I haven’t asked it, just because I want to keep wearing it. [Elena's sibling] is a four-year-old girl named Margaret in the books,” he says, “and that’s not exactly job security on my side. [In a pleading voice] I’m hoping to keep that ring on my finger.”
• Will we see more scenes between Jeremy and Damon? “We’ll see. I think Jeremy losing his father at such a young age, he’s always looking for a father figure. He saw that in Damon for awhile, until he realized that Damon causes more trouble than good,” he says. “I don’t think Jeremy looks up to Damon like he once did.” (Is that because a frustrated, heartbroken Damon snapped his neck in the season 2 premiere and Jeremy only survived because he was wearing that ring? Some people really need to learn to forgive.)

Jeremy should be given all kinds of credit for making Bonnie more tolerable as the season’s progressed.
Thanks for the nice interview.
I think it’s the writing that allows me to like BOTH of these characters more. In the beginning of the first season, I couldn’t stand Jeremy.
Bonnie has always been tolerable. Sorry she wasn’t off licking Damon’s butt like everyone else.
Right cause giving him an aneurism when CAROLINE killed that guy because KATHERINE turned her is all somehow DAMON’s fault.
You people need to learn logic.
I disagree. Bonnie has always been one of the more sensible characters on the show. People just like to find fault in everything she does b/c she put Damon in his place ONE TIME.
I always liked Bonnie though she did get a bit annoying with her unadultered vampire hate, especially towards Caroline. But I agree a lot of people have a problem with Bonnie because she’s one of the few characters who calls Damon out when he’s killing people. I mean I don’t see why it’s “We need to deal with so and so because he’s hurting innocent people” but Damon is always allowed off.
I have no problem with Bonnie putting Damon in his place because typically its justified (even though I love him) my problem with her stems from her blind distrust of vampires even though Stefan has done nothing but protect her and Elena. The way she turned her back on Caroline when it was HER fault she became a vampire turned me off of her in a major way.
Sorry, but a) Bonnie had no way of knowing Katherine was going to turn her into a vampire. b) KATHERINE killed her, not Bonnie and c) If DAMON hadnt given her his blood, we’d have no Vamp Caroline and she’d be dead. So actually between them Bonnie, Damon and Katherine have given us pretty much THE best character in TVD at the moment. So why the hate?
some people really need to learn to forgive??? the person that killed them like they were nothing? cos they were having a temper tantrum?
Get outta here with your Damon bias
I think Mandi was being sarcastic with that comment.
Sarcasm fail, hon.
More like, reading comprehension fail HON.
I am hoping that Jeremy does follow in those vampire hunting footsteps, heck, even if it is that pilot they are doing which I am still convinced is a vehicle for Matt Davis as Alaric and Jeremy can be his first in command but they always can return to Mystic Falls.
Totally agree. Jeremy can hold his own series down, especially if he starts driving around on a motorcycle with a sawed off shotgun. I’m swooning at the thought.
Love Bonnie. Love Jeremy. Love them together. One of the best, and most surprising, couples the madness of Julie & Kevin have come up with. I’m all for them! Also, agree with the comments posted – so many people hatin’ on Bonnie just because she doesnt immediately fall in line with the Vamp love. Someone has to have their head on straight and be won around. And she’s getting there. She trusts Stefans, and now Caroline (great sleepover scene last week). Damon needs work, and justifyably so. Back off haters.
yes you’re right, come on jeremy get your girl!!!!!cool!!thanks.
I hate the Jeremy/Bonnie relationship.. why they just bring back Anna.
Because she’s dead. Move on.
No. You move back.
Thank you.
Move back to where exactly? Reality? Great name btw.
yea i don’t exactly hate the couple but i don’t like them – it just seems weird to me that they’re together
when they first starting hinting at the relationship i was just like OH GEEZ NO
and i didn’t particularly think it was ingenious to stick them together as a couple – it’s starting to remind me of GG where everyone’s been with everyone
I like Bonnie and Jeremy seperately, but I just don’t get any chemistry between the two of them. They should’ve kept Anna around.
I’m hoping for a Jeremy/TYLER kiss. Now those two have chemistry! They ooze sexual tension in every scene they share together. It’s not much of a stretch to imagine either character as gay or bi.
C’mon Williamson, you’re a gay man—add some gay characters to your show!
Hell yes to Jeremy/Tyler. Why waste the chemistry between the actors?
Ameen to that. Altho Caroline & Tyler kinda cute tho. But Caroline is so bearable now she’s much better than Tyler. So let Tyler be with Jeremy. Caroline with nice Stefan after Elena being sacrificed and Damon biten by the wolves.
It’s a kind of who really cares. They both are mostly irrelevent to events that go on in the show-especially Jeremy. Killing them off would be better news than some breathless kiss story. Pfffttt.
P.S. Where is Meredith?
I’ve been wondering that myself since day one. I don’t understand why they didn’t include that character. As for Bonnie, TV Bonnie is way better than book Bonnie. Book Bonnie was a cry baby with no spine whats-so-ever and never could fully embrace her powers.
While I agree J+T have chemistry, I think its more bromance than anything else. Likewise with Damon and Alaric. Plus I grateful for anything that keeps Bonnie away from Luka!
No, Damon and Alaric have a (tenuous) “bromance”. Jeremy and Tyler’s chemistry is much more sexual—they always look like they wanna jump each other’s bones!
Yum.
Wishful thinking.
I don’t ming seeing more of Bonnie and Jeremy, they definitely do have chemistry and it would be good to see them getting screen time for a change.
I don’t think Jeremy and Bonnie are a good match at all. I actually thought he was going to turn out gay. Wishful thinking.
He can still “turn out gay”. He just needs to experience some Tyler first!
I prefer Bonnie with Luka.
I am so loving this convo. How great would that be???
It would suck. Neither guy comes off gay and they have zero sexual chemistry. Where are you seeing this? Bonnie and Jeremy are adorable together and I think the writers need to explore that. Also, Tyler and Caroline are kinda hot together so lets do these matchups first.
Ummm are you even watching the same show?! Whenever Jeremy and Tyler are alone together, it’s so obvious they wanna f**k. Just sayin’.
Ok I’m watching The Vampire Diaries. You are watching something entirely different that portrays whatever is running through your warped mind. Just sayin!
