Charlie Sheen on 'The Dan Patrick Show': 'I've never been high on the set'

charlie-sheenImage Credit: Dan MacMedan/WireImage.comCharlie Sheen returned to DirecTV’s The Dan Patrick Show this morning to address his on-set behavior and whether he’ll return for the eighth season of Two and A Half Men. “Oh God, yeah!” He told Patrick over the phone. “Because I have a two-year deal. I’m a man of my word.”

Sheen said he’s never been under the influence while shooting Men over the last seven seasons. “The shape I was showing up in was epic, was beyond comprehension. [I’ve] never been drunk, never been high on the set once. But, I would show up not having slept much. Doing a network run-through and asking the director, Jamie, to move my mark a little bit so I could be next to a piece of furniture or a table so I wouldn’t fall over. That is an expert move by a seasoned professional. I’m sorry, an amateur stays on his mark and then falls over during the run-through.”

He also addressed the vanity card written by Men uber-producer Chuck Lorre, who indicated “I’m gonna be really pissed” if Sheen outlived him: “This is a giant compliment. Chuck offered an olive branch, this is how I interpreted it. He’s going through all this stuff about what he does. This is about him personally. It doesn’t get to me, it’s not about me until the end. It’s a reflection of how he feels, in comparison to how insane my life appears at times. So, I took it as a huge compliment. He basically wrote a brilliant little piece of literature and called me Superman… We are fine! ”

Patrick even inquired about Sheen’s intervention. “People need to understand how supremely grateful I am that someone stepped in here. I don’t want to say who, but you know, basically, Viacom showed up at my house and said ‘Dude, it’s getting really obvious and we’re really worried about you. We don’t give a rat’s tooey about the show, we care about your health.’ So, they came in and just man-to-man and said ‘We have to shut it down.’”

Any day now, Warner Bros. TV is expected to announce when Men will resume production.

“I’m a man of my word.”

I guess that doesn’t apply to wedding vows…

    Jerk.

Sounds like the furniture on the set of “Two and a Half Man” should’ve received the Best Supporting Actor Emmy a couple years ago instead of Cryer.

No… a seasoned professional shows up for work having done the proper preparation to not have to worry if he’s going to fall over.

oh high haughty one, teach us more….

  • Jillyro

I SO wish they would cancel this show and show this pompeous over-confident addict a lesson, that he is not so powerful as he thinks he is. If I was Chuck Lorre, I’d be getting very annoyed now at Charlie’s radio call ins and pull the plug.

Wish Not Granted. Two and 1/2 Men’s new episode was the top rated show of the week. You may want to learn how to spell too: pompous is not spelled pompeous.

  • Erica

I can’t believe all of the idiots who watch his horrible show. The decline of western civilization indeed.

    • Brett

Well, obviously jillyro isn’t one of those idiots since she can’t even spell pompous.

  • jeff

i can’t help but root for Charlie to get that porn house he so desires

    • Jay

Hell YEAH!! They could turn it into its own reality show: Charlie Sheen’s Porn House Survivor!

Each week, 1 porn slut gets voted off. The one left standing at the end of the year gets a coke-feuled weekend in Vegas with Sheen

What the …? Who shows up for work needing to lean on furniture so they won’t fall over? I’ve never heard of such a thing. And then to say it’s the mark of a “seasoned professional”?! A pickled professional, maybe…

    • Jay

I come to work often on the verge of falling over. Luckily, I sit at a desk. If I had to stand and recite lines, I’d probably do the same thing

  • Ap

Why is he giving interviews at all? Just go away (i.e., real rehab) and come back later. This is too soon.

  • iKnow

lol love it..and the show remained funny..guy is a champ.

    • irishman

      he is!! he is!!
      And Lorre need get that.
Of course, Sheen need get fact those lines don’t write themselves.

  • Pete

It’s not how high you get Charlie, it’s how low you get. Your morals belong to an alley cat.

  • aaron

  • ana lomba

charlie sheen is brilliant. he sees it…and now he has decided to tell the world that he’s done with his silence. i worry nothing about him. his choice of words are incredible. i think he should be writing too, he’s brilliant, a giant surrounded by clowns. and he does have a core sense of justice
