Bell Biv Devoe to jam on 'Jimmy Fallon'

Bell Biv DeVoe, the early 1990s R&B offshoot of New Edition that scored with the 1990 album, Poison, will perform with The Roots tomorrow night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon tweeted the official news today, after Billboard had reported the news previously. Though Fallon promoted tomorrow’s appearance as a reunion, Ricky Bell, Ron DeVoe and Michael Bivins have been touring for the last three years.

I love that album. “You can do me in the morning, you can do me in the night, you can do me when you wanna do me…allright.”

I like Fallon, but this is no big deal.

BBD! Awesome. And just like that, Jimmy Fallon’s show becomes watchable (er, well, for ONE night anyway).

Nice. I don’t think I ever heard that lyric correctly, but it makes sense. :)

Fallon has been a pleasant surprise after all of the Leno/Conan hoopla. I’ve really enjoyed watching the show…the Steven Tyler/”Walk this Way” performance was great so I hope this one is as well!

Now we need a “Guys Next Door” reunion!

Maybe Jimmy didn’t see them on the BET awards last year when Ne-Yo and some current artists brought back some late ’80s/early ’90s New Jack Swing artists back together on stage such as BBD, Keith Sweat and others. And Bell Biv Devoe performed on the Mo’Nique show last year with a medley of their songs. Perhaps Jimmy hasn’t seen them in years, was just out of the loop for a moment on them and didn’t know that they were still active and performing. That said, it’s time to bring MENTAL back again with Bell Biv Devoe!!!!!
