Image Credit: Koi Sojer/PR Photos Saving Private Ryan co-star Adam Goldberg has been cast in CBS’ gritty cop drama pilot Rookies.
The show is about six NYPD newbie cops who balance their personal lives with learning the mean streets of Manhattan. Goldberg plays Lazarus, a laid-off reporter turned rookie cop who still has his street connections and can pull in good intel. Rookies is executive produced by Robert DeNiro, Richard Price and Jane Rosenthal. Goldberg previously played a detective in ABC’s The Unusuals.
two many cop shows on tv right now, its time for change, come on people give us something different, like breaking bad, sons of anarchy, sopranos, boardwalk empire and that it about the shows about bad guys, always typical cop shows, only good ones are The Wire and The Shield

Probably won’t be as good as The Unusuals. That was one of the best cop shows in recent years, and ABC canceled it. And Adam Goldberg was great in it.

Totally agree. I rarely ever watch cop shows, but The Unusuals was so cool. A good mix of drama and quirky comedy. The cast was excellent, Amber Tamblyn, Jeremy Renner, Adam Goldberg, Harold Perrineau. I was really upset when ABC canceled it. They barely promoted it and didn’t give it much of a chance. It could have been a big hit.
and stinkin’ Private Practice is still on the air. The Unusuals was great.
You should catch The Hebrew Hammer, it’s a very funny movie Goldberg stars in.

I know right – I’m STILL pissed about that. (And, just found out “The Good Guy’s” got cancelled too).
But a lame-ass show like “Cracker” keeps getting renewed (for example) – - – y’know, the ones where half the cast *cough* the female lead, in this case CAN’T EVEN ACT — that get’s renewed? *gags*
wow. another cop show on network TV. really breaking boundaries. I will sooner watch some of my TV on DVD then watch another cop show or medical drama.

Adam Goldberg? Double Ugh. One of the most irritating actors ever. I won’t watch anything he’s in, because I whenever he’s on, I just can’t stop thinking how much he annoys me.
