But in the case of Melinda Clarke — who plays Amanda on the CW’s freshman series Nikita – we’re going to hope she’s speaking with authority when saying the future looks good for the Maggie Q actioner.
“From what I hear, the buzz is that we’ll be fortunate enough to have another season,” Clarke tells EW. “I think we’ve got some great fans out there, a good fan base. I know internationally people are really excited about it. We’re on the CW, and of course, that’s a smaller network as far as how many viewers. But we have some pretty intense and loyal fans. So, I think it’s very likely that we’ll be picked up. I mean, anything can happen in this industry, but I think fans will get another season out of it.”
For what its worth, there haven’t been early pickups for any of the CW shows. Do you think Nikita deserves another year to kick ass? – With additional reporting from Sandra Gonzalez

I have just assumed it would be as it could have good carryover audiences from Vampire Diaries. I scoffed at the show at first, and it has quickly risen in the ranks as one of my favorite shows. I would think that CW would be impressed with the ratings it gets at all (esp adding in DVR) because it is against the original CSI, Grey’s Anatomy and the pretty solid hour of The Office and Parks & Rec.
agree. initially i had it on my dvr in case of a rainy sunday, if i had nothing else to watch. but quickly, it has picked up the pace and the chemistry btw the costars is fantastic. i do hope they give it another season to tie up the various storylines.

Nikita is the second best show on The CW [after Supernatural] and definitely deserves a second season.
Definitely agree, and its doing really well on Thursday night even though there’s so much competition. Nothing can ever beat supernatural in my book though

This is a MUST-SEE show and I never miss it. Big “water cooler” discussions after each episode. We LOVE Maggie Q and the characters, and the writing is A+!!

I have to say the show has grown on me and I love the chemistry between Maggie Q and Shane West. I hope it does get another season as it is better with each episode.
I sure hope Nikita gets another season… last week’s episode was the best one thus far and there’s plenty of grist for the mill, if only they would keep the writers from the “Alexandra” episode for the rest of the season and more!
CW please renew this show!!! All I watch is One Tree Hill and 90210 and every season I swear to myself that I’d never watch one of your new shows cuz you cancel them all(Reaper, Privledged, MELROSE PLACE).

Nikita is basically a slam dunk next season, after that who knows. CW is such a mess.
I watch it in the UK. You certainly have to suspend some disbelief when watching Nikita, such as that no one has caught Nikita’s mole in “division”. However, it’s consistently entertaining and deserves another season to expand on a promising start.

If they’re not going to renew Nikita then they better cancel shows like “Hellcats, 90210, Gossip Girl, and One Tree Hill” . . . considering that this show has better ratings then all of them!
The only reason for them really cancelling the show is because it doesn’t necessarily fit in with the tweeny-bopper shows they having running . . .

Exactly. The CW wanted something different, now they have Nikita. They shouldn’t act like they didn’t expect it to not be yet another teen drama.
Given the development for next season, it seems the CW is trying to go into different directions from the typical CW brand.
