ABC News has taped a TV interview with Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen, which will air on a special edition of 20/20 Tuesday at 10 p.m. It is Sheen’s first television interview since CBS and Warner Bros. Television halted production of Two and a Half Men for the rest of the season in light of the shocking interviews Sheen has recently given radio stations and TMZ. Portions of the 20/20 interview will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday and Tuesday, as well as on other “ABC News platforms.”

Enough with this guy already, there is no amount of reporting that is going to change the fact that he is an addict in denial and there will continue to be ridiculous statements and outrageous behavior until he gets help, please stop feeding the Charlie Sheen machine and let this guy go away and get some help.

We’re fascinated with this meltdown, disgusted by how he can rip apart everyone who got him to this level of success, and amused by how much attention he gets. And yet we watch! Sort of like watching a lava lamp — just a slow rise and fall of a blob of goo in a heated environment. It’s entertainment from a distance.

Sheen is a bad boy and an addict. Two mutally inclusive things that make a bad mixture for survival. He will die soon if he isn’t taken down, physically, put in a straight jacket, placed in a room with soft walls, medicated properly, allowed to withdraw, and then given intensive psychological therapy for at least 6 consecutive months. However, if he doesn’t want to continue after that, he is doomed to repeat and simply die. His choice after the drugs have left his system and are no longer clouding his judgement cannot be made by no other than himself.

I guess that Charlie wanted to do the interview on rival network ABC rather than do it on CBS shows 60 Minutes where he would have really ticked off CBS’ brass,Leslie Moonves, Warner Brothers and anybody else.
i would give anything if this was just a publicity stunt to increase ratings.unfortunately we are watching someone self destruct before our eyes and just as in the michael jackson case the world will not be happy til he is dead..then he will be talked about for a day or so and life will go on for everyone..everyone except his poor children and the rest of his family ..they will have to live the nightmare the rest of their lives..everyone needs to pray for him and his family

Right on, Rex. They’ll probably have to beep out half the interview. Two and a Half Men has shut down production, so this is how Sheen is getting attention: with his tirades. I never watched his show anyway, though I have a brother who loves it. Count me out. That said, I wish the best of luck to his castmates and the crew. May they find other projects with more stable co-stars in the very near future.

I would beg to differ a bit on the “exploitation” part of it. Charlie called in to those radio shows–he wasn’t hunted down and ambushed for the interviews. And I am sure that it was his idea to do the 20/20 interview. It has been his behavior that’s made this such a public spectacle.

This is nothing more than ABC trying anything they can to pop a rating for their troubled 9 PM CT timeslot on Tuesdays and they resorted to this jackhole to do just that?
