'All About Aubrey': Sneak peek at former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O'Day's reality show -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Back in October 2008, music mogul Diddy famously broke up the fledgling girl group he had created, Danity Kane, by ceremoniously removing the foursome’s bad-girl lead singer Aubrey O’Day (and, yes, D. Woods, too) live on MTV’s Making the Band. Since her exit, the always-buzzy Ms. O’Day, 26, has been doing acting and singing gigs here and there, but it seems she was really just killing time until she could get back to where she feels most at home: in front of the reality TV cameras. Her new docu-series, All About Aubrey — which will mostly chronicle her attempts to rebuild her music career — debuts on Oxygen March 7 at 10 p.m.

EW has an exclusive clip from the premiere episode; the scene we have finds Aubrey on day one of her dancing lessons with her old choreographer, who immediately tells her that she’s gotten bigger and needs to lose some weight. “It’s interesting because I live with myself everyday that I don’t necessarily see my weight in the way other people do,” O’Day tells EW. “So, for me, I didn’t really think that I was so enormous and his reaction to me was, like, I was not looking right. I think that was very shocking to me, to hear someone that I trust be so honest.” The whole scene was a wake-up call for O’Day. “It’d be a lot easier if I didn’t have to do it in front of the whole world,” she says with a laugh. “I mean, listen, it’s embarrassing, but it is honest, and I’d rather watch that scene than watch some phony girls talking about like irrelevant subject matters.”

I’m really looking forward to this. Give her a lot of credit for showing the stressful stuff.

(Now if only they could work in a reunion with Aundrea!)

Aubrey and Aundrea are still very close (there’s a YouTube of them hanging out). They say not to believe the edit and that they remain as close as they were in the past. You can tell by the way they interact it’s true. DK5 4life, haha!

    • Lucky

You’re in luck. Not only will Aundrea be in the show, but they have a song and did a ustream together.

I always liked Aubrey. I guess we will never know the truth of what happened between her and Poop Doody but the way he treated her did make me feel like he totally screwed her over. (In more ways than one.)
He wanted her to be sexier and as she changed and become more of the “star” of the group and started branching out on her own he shut her down. The man is an a**.
Aundrea is just beautiful and has a very pretty voice. She was always my favorite.

You’re in luck. Aubrey will attempt to reach out to Diddy this season.

I think she’s a beautiful girl with loads of talent…that being said he should have also mentioned that all that make up makes her look old. Kind of like a shorter kim zolciak of rho atlanta.

You’re in luck. Gil, the choreographer in this clip, forces her to remove all her makeup. Will it stick? Probably not. She’s always said she loved a lot of makeup.

Aubrey used to be very pretty…but the last 2 years have not been kind to her. I think her quest to launch her music career is DOA.

I thought that at first too. But honestly, it’s the weight she’s gained. It’s very evident in her face…I’ve excited to watch her get back in shape! She’s gorgeous.

I can’t wait for All About Aubrey. Aubrey was my favorite in Danity Kane and was the star in the group. I hope she bring her A game cause I wanna see her be a huge hit.

  • Car

It’s always interesting to see where people gain their weight. She’s so much prettier without makeup.

  • Gina Vera

I love Aubrey she just needs to keep in shape cuz Hollywood needs them to be thinner than she is now.

Way to copy Holly Madison’s show. That clip looks like bad acting

    • Lucky

Holly is out of luck. She may be lost in her own ego thinking a show that was recorded in 2010 (filming ended on December 14th, 2010) somehow “ripped off” her show, but truth is truth, and she’s not telling it. Don’t buy into her hype and build up her illusions. Sometimes, celebrities lose touch and need to be pinched. Get your fingers ready to bring her back into “real” reality.

    • LOL

You’re so unoriginal that you actually copied that blonde bimbo’s exact wording. Find your own mind and think with it.

  • nicole

Um Jenn.. Holly Madison’s show is about as real as her boobs. Truth is both Holly and Aubrey gained weight and are using it as a storyline in their reality shows. Notice how you never hear about anything going on in their lives until they are promoting a show.

    ALL reality shows are fake!

    • Lucky

Actually, if you looked for any news about Aubrey, there’s been a steady stream of it since March of ’10. You weren’t looking for it, which is perfectly OK.
