spoiler-roomImage Credit: Giovanni Rufino/The CW; Monty Brinton/CBS; Karen Neal/ABCTV, I wish I knew how to quit you.

Actually…no I don’t. Without you, we’d all be bored, heartless, apathetic loners. Let’s never part. I’ll make you a deal: You stay highly entertaining, I’ll spoil, and we will all promise to consume our television programming greedily. And judging by what’s coming up on Castle, Outsourced, How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girl and a ton of other shows, you’re going to be keeping up your end of the bargain.

(Roomies, don’t forget to send your questions — and general ramblings — to spoilerroom@ew.com. I promise I read them all. Or tweet me @EWSandraG.) READ FULL STORY »

CBS fall development: The Robs (Riggle and Schneider) want to entertain you

CBS-developmentImage Credit: Bob Charlotte/PR Photos; Chris Hatcher/PR Photos; Amanda Meredith/PR Photos; Al Messerschmidt/Getty ImagesCBS may not have a project like Wonder Woman that’s eating up all the headlines, nor does it have a much-anticipated reboot in the works that has fans hoping for the best (and even anticipating the worst). But the No. 1 network (in viewers) doesn’t need to make a lot of noise with its fall 2011 development, especially when it continues to succeed with tried-and-true formats featuring law dogs and crime-fighting duos. Categories: Grammys, Television

Serene-Branson-anchor-GrammysAccording to the Los Angeles Times, a doctor for CBS 2 TV reporter Serene Branson believes the reporter suffered a complex migraine when she tripped over her sentences while reporting during the Grammy telecast Sunday. Though many thought Branson had a stroke during the live TV moment, the severe migraine boasts symptoms matching a stroke: weakness, loss of vision, and difficulty speaking. Fortunately for Branson, complex migraines have no long-term effect.

Following Branson’s slurred report, the journalist was examined by paramedics. All her vital signs were normal.

Jimmy Kimmel gets hot and sweaty with Minka Kelly -- PHOTO

Categories: Late Night, Television

As fans of Kimmel’s Handsome Men’s Club sketch from last year’s post-Oscar Jimmy Kimmel Live!, we were pretty stoked to get our hands on two photos (see them both embedded after the jump) from this year’s Academy Awards JKL lead-out, featuring new Charlie’s Angel Minka Kelly hanging out with Kimmel, who’s, ahem, letting it all hang out in a pair of short shorts. (You’ve got nothin’ on him, Richard Simmons!) Apparently, the sketch — which also features Jessica Alba, Kelly Ripa, and Eva Longoria — centers on Kimmel helping Hollywood’s hottest ladies get fit. You’ll have to stay tuned after the Oscars to find out what exactly Kelly and Kimmel do while getting physical, but we can offer you some scoop: Kimmel’s guest for the post-Oscar show will be none other than two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks. Maybe Robert Langdon can us decipher Kimmel’s top-secret sketch! READ FULL STORY »

'Life Unexpected' star cast in CW's 'Secret Circle' -- EXCLUSIVE

Categories: Scoop, Television, TV Biz

Britt-RobertsonImage Credit: Barry King/FilmMagic.comBrittany Robertson now has a back-up plan.

She’s been cast in The CW’s promising supernatural pilot Secret Circle.

The casting is in “second position” to Robertson’s starring role on Life Unexpected, which is on the bubble for renewal. The CW has not yet decided on the show’s fate and casting actors in a new project when their current series is still part on a network’s lineup is increasingly common this time of year. Still, the casting could in theory impact the fate of Unexpected if The CW loves the Secret Circle pilot (and Robertson in it), and decides that new project is a better fit than Unexpected for one of its fall slots.

Secret Circle is based on a series of books by author L.J. Smith about a young woman who moves to a new town and discovers that not only is she a witch and part of a secret coven, but she’s also the key that will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil. It’s from Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.

Ryan-Murphy_240.jpg Image Credit: Noel Vasquez/WireImage.comIs Ryan Murphy’s fiefdom about to get a little bigger? FX announced today that the mastermind behind Glee — along with his fellow creator/executive producer Brad Falchuk — are returning to FX with a new drama pilot called American Horror Story.

The collaboration between Murphy and Falchuk reunites the duo with FX, where they worked on Nip/Tuck for seven years.

American Horror Story is a project that Brad and I have been discussing for a while,” said Murphy in a statement. “(FX President) John Landgraf and I have maintained a wonderful relationship since Nip/Tuck ended its run and he gave me an open invitation to develop a new show for the network. FX is the perfect place for this series and we look forward to a great homecoming.” READ FULL STORY »

'Idol' crush: 'Survivor' premiere lowest-rated ever

survivor-redemption-islandImage Credit: Monty Brinton/CBSOuch. For the first time ever, Survivor premiered against American Idol. Guess how that turned out?

On one hand, CBS’ Survivor, well, survived — any network will take 11.2 million viewers and a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating against Fox’s pet Death Star. But Survivor: Redemption Island was down 29 percent from a year ago and had its lowest-rated opener ever. Though last night’s episode was light years more compelling than any hour last season, another factor may have been the previous cycle disappointing fans.

As for Idol (22.8 million, 8.1), the two-hour behemoth was merely dented, down only 4 percent from last week, but the show also hit a Wednesday low.

CBS had better news at 10 p.m., with the series premiere of spinoff Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (12.8 million, 3.2). That went quite well, improving slightly on its Criminal Minds (12.9 million, 3.3) lead-in and easily winning the hour. READ FULL STORY »
