'Celebrity Rehab': Michael Lohan, Amy Fisher, Bai Ling join season 5

Celebrity-RehabImage Credit: Janet Mayer/Photorazzi; Tommaso Boddi/Richard Shotwell/PR PhotosOh boy — seems like Lindsay Lohan’s troubled life is about to get even more troublesome: Vh1 has confirmed that Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, has signed on to appear on season 5 of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Though Vh1 has not announced the complete cast yet, they’ve released some of the other names set to check into reality show treatment: Bai Ling (The Crow), Michaele Salahi (The Real Housewives of D.C.), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), and “the Long Island Lolita,” Amy Fisher. (For you youngins out there, Fisher became the subject of controversy in the early 1990s when she shot her lover’s wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco.) Due to confidentiality agreements, Vh1 is not commenting on the nature of its stars’ addictions.

It’s so sad that these people view rehab as a way back into the limelight rather than as a way to get sober…

    • cindy-loo

agree! and what real “doctor” thinks it’s a good idea for anyone who needs serious help to do it this way??

    • Dee Jones

I too agree with you. Is Dr. Drew even a real doctor? This show is nothing than a publicity stunt for these so called stars, they`re not even stars really. Dr. Drew should be ashamed of himself for exploiting these people.

“Dr.” Drew needs his own rehab, he is just as fame seeking/addicted as his “patients.”

    • RG

Look at it this way: With Bai Ling on it, were guaranteed at least one nipslip

  • Lisa

How by any stretch of the imagination is Amy Fisher a celebrity?

    • Soon to outnumber you

Same way Kim Kardashian is–she too has a sex tape.

    • Kat

I was wondering the same thing.

    • Kristin

Because, she shot an innocent housewife and mother in the face so Amy could continue sleeping with her husband. The question should be “What is she doing on this show.” Next Casey Anthony will be on Celebrity Rehab.

  • TigerBlood Warlock

this should be filmed at Sober Valley Ridge

  • Soon to outnumber you

    Worst cast ever.

  • Cait

Which one of those people is a “star”?

    • goose

It is Celebrity Rehab, not Star Rehab. And all of those people are celebrities.

  • silverrose

can we take for granted michael lohans addiction is not being able to keep his big mouth shut.

  • Elizabeth

No, you’re feeding into the addiction of attention here. Michele & Michael Lohan – it will be a battle to the death to see who gets more air time! Hopefully its a tie!

  • jules

Bai Ling = sex addiction or sex addiction to Harvey W. Take your pick.

  • Catt

Nope..not going to watch. This is the worst season yet. Michael Lohan, Amy Fisher, those wacko party crashers from DC? Can we get a more hated nothing, celebrity wannabe cast than this?

  • Jeff from Jersy; ys New Jersey

One of the saddest shows on television today. Best wishes to those who are participating

  • SLB

Wow, they’re really grasping to get “celebrities”.

  • Terry

Yeah, I don’t really see the point. It’s a bunch of nobodies really, who probably don’t have any real substance abuse problems(or if they do, don’t really care to work on it. Why don’t they just do a show called “I am so a celebrity, watch this show”?

  • southruth

chronic diarrhea of the mouth… That is a real problem for many

  • BHortens

I would love to see an OD death on this show

    • Jon

You would love to see an OD death?

I know schadenfreude is a national pastime, but wallowing in the sadness and pain of others *must* have some end.

As reprehensible, distasteful, frustrating, and/or incomprehensible these “celebrities” are, it seems that the fact that each one of them is a human being has escaped your notice. They may engender ridicule and derision from some, but are they worse than someone who would cheer for a death in order to relieve, if only for a brief moment, the self-imposed tedium and misery of their own lives?

      • Lisa

Applause to Jon for stating the obvious! They are human beings and are asking for help in anyway they can get it. Many people watch and realize they also need help. We should be aware that this show is not just for entertainment but is saving lives.

      • Eileen

      • Kristin

Thanks for stating that Jon. I wouldn’t want to see anyone OD on the show or otherwise regardless who is in the cast.

      • Kate Monster

        Somebody saw Avenue Q.

    • sandie

well write Dr Drew and ask to be on the show and take a short rope with you to get the job done. You are such an idiot for even thinking that would be good for TV

  • Shamus N.

So, when are Charlie Sheen and the governor of Wisconsin going to be on?

    • MzUnderstood

Celebs relapse at the same percentages as regular addicts. Those that straddle the fence of addiction relapse. We just see the celebs crash and burn in public. Shamus, I don’t think Dr, Drew could treat Gov. Walkers problems — There is no treatment for ignorant butt-lickers who are addicted to power and brown nosing the rich. Stupid is as stupid does. I believe he is the illegitimate son of George W., that would explain a lot!
