Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride) has joined the cast. His character is the CEO of Themyscira Industries — Diana Prince’s company. He manages day-to-day operations while Prince goes out and fights crime as Wonder Woman and could eventually serve as the heroine’s romantic interest.

Yesterday the news broke that Wonder Woman is adding Elizabeth Hurley to the cast, joining former Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki in the title role.

Now I actually am interested in the show. Great Casting

    • Bobby’s Robot

      As you wish.

    • K

      inconceivable!

      • L

YOu keep using that word… I don’t think it means what you think it means…

  • Mike

Also, better known for his awesome Robin Hood!

I have really had my doubts about this show – but with Palicki in the lead and them filling out the cast with other good actors, I could see it being OK.

  • Stacie

    Cool!

  • john

this wonder woman tv show i will not be watching. where is lynda carter when you need her.

    • Jennifer

I’m very skeptical about this too especially since I didn’t realize this would be an actual tv show. I haven’t been paying attention to the news lately and assumed when they announced who was playing Wonder Woman that it was for a movie, like what they did to Charlie’s Angels. I really hope this isn’t something that will be over-hyped then turn into junk once it airs.

  • Bobby’s Robot

Will he be a version of Steve Trevor?? I’m not a total fanboy, but I’m uncomfortable with all the mythology they’re leaving out.

  • bma

Yeah, this show sounds like crap. Is Wonder Woman not even an Amazon?!?

And Carey Elwes is waaay too old to be her love interest.

    • jk

Yeah, he’s too old to be the love interest.

  • JJ

Come on EW the new also broke that Tracie Thoms is playing Etta Candy, Diana’s best friend and Pedro Pascal is playing Ed Indelicato a police liason Diana works closely with/potential love interest.

FULL REPORTING folks so get typing!

  • ebook

errr, I love him, but potential romantic interest? he’s a good bit older than Adrianne. would never happen the other way around.

  • Kevin

First Liz Hurley now Cary Elwes that handsome prince from “The Princess Bride”. Now that’s really good casting for NBC’s reboot of Wonder Woman.

  • Emily

Cary is great! Luv him. But a love interest? I was thinking more “Father Figure” when I read he was joining.

    • LP

Er, yeah… he’s almost 50. I really like him but I think clever and irreverent (kinda like he was as Westley and Robin Hood!) father figure would be a lot better.

  • Steph

    Westleeeey!

But not sure how he’ll be as a love interest…bit too much of an age gap for my taste.

  • Emily

    He looks puffy…

    • Nona

      Fluffy.

  • Lisa Simpson

I love Cary Elwes, but he’s not exactly a “big name,” outside of those of us who hang at on EW.com all say instead of working. He’s had two great roles, which I always thought was a shame. He was one of Hollywood’s underutilized hot guys.

  • Cool News

I love Cary Elwes, but he is too old to play a love interest for Adrianne Palicki.

  • Car

Anyone worried that Liz Hurley could overshadow Adrianne Palicki? I mean the woman has an amazing figure!
