During the special, which will air on March 7 at 8 p.m., Dr. Drew will examine Sheen’s recent behavior and interviews in an attempt to determine “what could be wrong with him.” The name of the special: Vh1 News Presents: Charlie Sheen: Winning… or Losing It? with Dr. Drew. Of course, the question remains: Will Sheen show up for the occasion?
To get a sneak peek at what Dr. Drew might think of Sheen, read EW writer James Hibberd’s Q&A with the Celebrity Rehab host, posted just hours before Sheen’s headline-making interview on The Alex Jones Radio Show.

Winning, of course!
You have got to be kidding it for all its worth Dr Drew… Jeeze !!!
I always have had a lot of respect for Dr. Drew; even when he began doing his reality shows, he seemed to maintain his dignity and always treat others with respect. The speculative nature of this show, however, which is a blatant attempt at a cash/ratings grab by VH1, makes me lose a lot of respect for him.
Sheen should realize that all his ranting and raving is make the media tons of money not himself.
Dr Drew was never in it for their well being. Like others, he’s simply exploiting these down and out celebrities for his own financial gain.
Never trust a doctor or a shrink who regularly appears on TV.
agreed
Ooops… should be Dr Drew is milking it for all its worth.
I’ve had a lot of respect for Dr Drew ever since Loveline (anyone who doubts he knows what he’s talking about, or isn’t a real Doctor, clearly hasn’t heard the show), but I can’t say I love seeing him do cheesy stuff like this.
Ugh, I hate when he and Dr. Phil try to “diagnose” celebrities without actually having them as patients (of course, then they couldn’t say anything due to doctor-patient confidentiality). I just don’t think it adds anything to the field, and it certainly doesn’t help the celebrity.
I agree but would add that it does the opposite of adding to the field… it probably embarrasses doctors who take their job and their integrity seriously.
And that is the sound of a dead horse being beaten and the vultures feasting lustily on the carcass.
The first media person to say something sensible about CS’s psychotic break is now adding to the frenzy that is making it impossible for CS to get the help he needs. Anyone with any experience in mental health can see the man is suffering and needs serious help, not more exposure to feed his delusions of gradiosity. I don’t know if it’s bipolar or narcissistic pd or borderline pd, or what, but he’s had a serious break, and the only thing good that’s come out of this is now it’s clear why his addiction is so serious – he’s self medicating, and even all but said so. Okay, that’s my first and last contribution to the discussion of CS. We must move on for HIS sake.
At last…someone commenting who has knowledge and a brain!
no one capitalizes on celebrity meltdowns quite as well as dr. drew. i’m starting to think he has a fame addiction himself.
Dr Drew an MD who is a board-certified internist and addiction medicine specialist. so i think he knows what he is talking about.
It doesn’t take a doctor to figure out that he’s losing it! There I just did it for Dr. Drew, VH1 can just send me whatever millions they were going to give Dr. Drew for this nonsense show and they won’t have to air it.
Wow, talk about exploitive. I’m sure the Jersey Shore groupies will tune in. I think I’ll pass.
I don’t care about “Dr. Drew’s” medical credientials. It boggles my mind that someone who is actually a doctor would not only look to milk someone else’s issues his own gain, but that he would claim to have any REAL idea of what he was talking about based on some interviews that he saw on TV or read on the internet. This guy is a charlatan and he should have his license taken away. Can anyone imagine a REAL doctor making a diagnosis without actually meeting the patient? Would anyone believe he has ANY idea what he is talking about. I’m not a doctor, but without meeting Sheen, “Dr. Drew” has as much idea about what is ACTUALLY wrong with Sheen as I do…
I agree 100%. He should have his license taken away.
Well said.
If you knew anything about Dr. Drew you would understand he has been trying to help and treat those addicted to drugs for many, many years. My guess is he is trying to show those 50% of people that think Charlie Sheen is just fine that he is spiraling downward and needs help (something he’s seen over and over and over again with other addicts). Don’t judge before you know, people.
Another celeb getting rewarded for bad behavior. Why not? All of the others are.
Shame on the entertainment world!!!
Typical Drew move, diagnosing and “examining” a patient he has neither treated or even met. This from a guy who routinely puts his drug-rehab patients at grave risk for relapse by putting them with addicts at different stages of recovery. A man who pays addicts to participate in rehab. He has stopped becoming a doctor and has become a full-blown TV producer. He’s become an embarrassment to himself and his profession.
FYI: Dr. Drew isn’t a board certified psychiatrist. He’s an internal medicine doc. Offends the real psychiatrist (Like Me) because he isn’t trained to do all this “group therapy process group” bs he has on his shows
He’s also an addiction medicine specialist and has dealt with the treatment of addition since the early 80′s. This type of specialist frequently dabbles with psychiatry. You’re saying the group therapy process in a twelve-step program is bs, because a psychiatrist isn’t there? Get over yourself.
