Marc Anthony joins TNT's 'HawthoRNe' as series regular

Marc-AnthonyImage Credit: Kevin Winter/Getty ImagesUnexpected: Grammy winner (and Mr. J. Lo) Marc Anthony is joining TNT’s drama series HawthoRNe as a series regular.

Anthony was on the show as a guest star for a couple episodes last season, playing Det. Nick Renata. He’s been brought on board the series just as star Jada Pinkett Smith’s title character Christina Hawthorne struggles with the news that she is pregnant. The two had some chemistry last season, but Christina had told Nick she wasn’t ready to jump into a new relationship.

Anthony has been dubbed the top-selling salsa artist of all time; HawthoRNe averaged 3.7 million viewers last season and is returning in June for its third season.

Umm….YES!! This is great news, Nick and Christina had good chemistry. I was amazed at how well he did, acting-wise. Ahh….the drama possibilities between Christina/Nick and her baby-daddy Tom. I CAN’T WAIT!!!

This show´s mediocre, now it will be just ridiculous. Gosh, Vartan´s fans will be upset if/when Marc Antony gets all Vartan´s screen time.LOL

Marc is a good actor, he just never got the top level roles. He’s very good in supporting roles. At least this will keep him busy and his name in the news along with JenLo.

Hmm. maybe there is some truth to the fact that Marc and JLO are Scientologist then if Marc is now costarring with hidden Sci Jada??

I’ve wondered about that too. I’ve been a huge fan of HawthoRNe and am not thrilled about this addition to the cast

Crud! I am SO NOT a fan of Marc Anthony.

This won’t stop me, though, from tuning in for Michael Vartan.

    • Janet

I totally agree. Love Anthony’s music but not his acting. Nothing, however, will keep me from watching Michael Vartan!

Wow good for hin an spanish man

I did enjoy Marc’s character and would like to see more interaction between him and Tom. If they want to hook Nick up with someone, how about Bobbie?

As far as T/C, I want good material for Jada and Michael to play this season. I’d like to see the relationship move forward and not just repeat what we’ve had. I imagine the writers have already worked out a way of including Nick that makes sense with the hospital setting. Again, as long as Jada and Michael get good material (emotional stuff) this season I will be happy.

Good thing I don’t watch that show. I would hate to look at him on tv. Sorry but I think he should stick to singing.

I can take Marco Antonio with a grain of salt so hopefully his character will be short-lived…like soon!!! Jada’s character needs to get her act together and stop trying to be Wonder Woman and her annoying ways of caring for everyone except TOM!!!! She needs to focus on Tom more who, as we all know is the man in her life for evah!!!

Marc Anthony?? LOL he is so ugly which is good so he will scare the bad guys… anyway he thinks he is handsome LOL

I think anyone who cannot see the electric chemistry between Jada and Marc’s characters are crazy or blind. I felt absolutley nothing between Jada and that “boring” character she married on the show. I know a lot of people may be happy if marc’s character is truly dead (as it seems from the season finale) but if he is – I won’t bother to watch anymore. Those passionate scenes between them are what kept me watching – there is no “magic” between her and that other guy. Please keep Marc around!
