InsideTV Podcast: Whom should Brad choose on 'The Bachelor'? Plus, the loons of 'Celebrity Apprentice' and loving or loathing James Durbin on 'American Idol'

Chantal or Emily? That is the decision facing towering, personality-free robot Brad Womack on The Bachelor. On this week’s InsideTV Podcast, Bachelor expert Kristen Baldwin joins Annie Barrett and yours truly to discuss whom Brad should choose and will choose on Monday night. Turns out not all of us agree. Then we move on over to American Idol. Did the right person go home? Who’s on the hot seat for next week? Is Casey still #1 in our power rankings? In the middle of debating all these questions, an argument breaks out over James Durbin. Annie and I are lovin’ The Durbs so far. Kristen? Not so much. Listen in and hear why! Finally, Annie and I take stock of all the big Celebrity Apprentice feuds: Whom do we like in Star Jones vs. Lisa Rinna and Jose Canseco vs. Richard Hatch? Plus, are we the only ones that share an unhealthy obsession with Marlee Matlin’s interpreter?

To join in the fun, just click on the audio player icon below. Or, since we’re now on iTunes, you can subscribe for free and take the podcast with you on the go. No iTunes? No problem. You can also download the entire podcast right here. And to send a question to the InsideTV Podcast team, follow us on Twitter @InsideTVPodcast. But first let us know what you think: Whom should Brad choose? Are you loving or loathing James Durbin? And could you stand five minutes alone with Star Jones? Hit the message boards and let us know!

Love the podcast (I really hate it when they don’t tell us when they take a week off), but it has been pretty much a reality show only podcast. Any possible way you can have an occasional scriped TV podcast (maybe one after each sweeps period?)

REPORTS OF BRAD PICKING CHANTAL ARE WRONG!! HE PICKS EMILY!! WHY DO I CARE?? IS ANYONE EVEN READING MY POST?????

      • Jean Guy Levesque

What a bunch of LOSERS!!! These people make me laugh so hard. Vive la Quebec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Margie

Contrats, Dalton. You used “whom” right this time! :-)

  • swtndl

    Love the podcast!!!! More, please!!!

  • Chris

PLEASE KEEP HAVING KRISTIN BALDWIN ON THE PODCAST.

    • Riley

      I second that!

    • Andrea

Agreed, please make her a regular.

      • Dominic

More Kristin love here! I want her on every podcast!

  • reetu

the podcast got cut off…where’s the rest!!!

  • Licorice Allsorts

Dalton, way to represent! Your knowledge of The Bach is impressive.

  • Riley

I agree with Annie – Emily is sweet, but they seem awkward together. There is more chemistry and really conversation with Chantal…plus she slapped him.

    • Jj

For the last time, he chooses CHANTAL!!!! Even though he always says her name wrong!!

  • Trazey

LOL “Personality free robot” perfect description! We’ve been so cartoonishly manipulated to believe that Emily is mother theresa reincarnated, that if he picks her it will be a let down for sure! Although, Bland & Blander would have a nice life as Barbie & Ken, no “real” or unpleasant thoughts or feelings to ever furrow their collective brow!

  • Heidi

I think Emily’s got spunk, there have been moments we’ve seen it and she was quick to let Brad know there would be action in the huse n matter whether Ricki is sleeping upstairs or not! I was a Chantal fan for a long time but I kind of think she’s too insecure and abrupt with him. I also think a big key to the final three fantasy suites was that Brad fought with Ashley (thus ensuing no action) and that his night with Chantal was in plain sight with cameras there – no door to close – so that would also limit what occurred. Brad may have influenced this because he already knew he loved Emily and wanted her to see after the fact when she watched that he did all he could to respect her.

    • Mara

      Emily + Brad = ZERO.

  • Heidi

Oh and James Durbin is my favorite contestant. Wish I was American so I could vote my tush off for him. Overcoming Asbergers and Tourrette’s is an acheivement in itself. He’s so proud of himself and he should be. But that info alone isn’t enough – he has perfect pitch and his voice can do anything! He’s awesome.

I enjoy James Durbin the most, but I think his (and Adam’s) voice is best suited for Metal. Unlike Adam (who despises rock, let alone Metal), James enjoys this genre and could do quite well.

That being said, his combination of disability (endearing to some, off putting to others, not exactly Justin Bieber-attractive) and a limited genre appeal (not pop/country-pop/pop-rock) probably will keep him from having a chance at winning.

Emily is nice and could do well for him. However, so much of the time has been dealing with her child that he didn’t get to meet her family. Chantal’s family is a great fit for Brad. Chantal is no “Mother Barbie Theresa”, of course.

I still cannot believe that they did not get a single word from Shawntel in the Ladies Tell All.

      • Heidi

Pete, I did agree that Brad connected strongly with Chantal’s dad, and they would orm a close realtionship. However, I understand with Emily and her daughter, its most important that they had the timethey needed to see if there was a gelling as a family, which will be more important by far than how Brad relates to her parents.

I would love it if Shawntel was the choice for bachelorette way over Ashley Herbert.

      • BR

Adam doesn’t despise rock, he just knows he’d never get played on rock radio (I agree Metal isn’t his thing). Instead, he does pop/rock. I like Durbin’s voice as well, but he’ll be lucky if his band becomes semi-successful after this. Metal is not popular right now, so unless he does the Nickleback/Daughtry style of rock, which is doubtful, I’m not sure how much of a future he’d have.

    PHONEY B.S. CRAP!!!

  • Jessie

    “Where’s your baby?”
“I left him with a bowl of Kibbles”

    PRICELESS. This podcast is amazing.

  • Amy

Great podcast, especially because of KRISTEN BALDWIN!! Please keep having her on. I also agree about discussing more scripted shows every once in a while.

  • beth

Brad may pick Chantal – reason I think this is that he said he was “looking forward to moving in with (this gal) and dating her outside of the reality show. I do not think Emily would let him just move in with her and her daughter for morality reasons. A slip up on Brad’s part, huh? As to James Durbin on AI, he sang on pitch on a night when most of the 13 did not! He has a distinctive high voice, and it was evident the staff did a mini-makeover on him, a haircut, shave, and loosing the tail makes him more “main stream” -well we will see how he does on this “pitch problem” cast of characters!

    • SLB

      Nope.

    • Ellie

You really think Emily wouldn’t let him move in? Boy, have you misjudged her. She had a baby with another woman’s boyrfirend, didn’t she?

      • Josh

I thought the father was her fiance who was killed in a plane crash shortly before she discovered she was pregnant.

  • Big Fan

Kristen better be doing a weekly podcast on Bachelor Pad!!!!!

  • Judy

I have to comment on Paul’s “dancing” on AI. I haven’t heard anyone compare it yet to Pat Monahan (from Train). They move so much alike. I am not criticizing it though. I love the uniqueness of it. Also, I love Paul’s voice.

    • sasha

Judy, I always tell my boyfriend that Paul reminds me of the guy from Train when he dances! Ha Ha…nice to see that I am not alone in thinking that. Both are so fun to watch! :)
