Sorry if it’s been brought up already but I can’t view the comments….you didn’t mention Fringe.
Ok so apparently I couldnt see the comments because there wasn’t any yet.
Fringe in the danger zone ? No way. I cannot wait for the move to Friday. Fringe Fridays !
If Fox movies something to Friday, you know they want to kill it.
Sorry, moves.
EW has reported that Fox has stated that Fringe is not on shaky ground even with its move to Fridays.
HUMAN TARGET(Fox)should NOT be on Danger list. We like it better than last year. Excellent ensemble and Guerrero is tops.
Very surprised that CW would consider dropping SUPERNATURAL! We and a lot of our friends have just discovered these boys and we love them! We’re watching the new and catching up from beginning on cable.
No surprise that NBC might yank two of our favorite newcomers! THE CAPE and L&O LOS ANGELES. The Cape is brand new and we loved it. Great action and ensembly. Needs a little time to find its audience, that’s all. LOLA is excellent drama and depicts L.A. law better than we’ve seen in long time. Put somebody quirky in squad room, that’s all.
NBC suits are losing people faster than most of the shows they have yanked last couple of years. They should be in the DANGER column.
I suspect Supernatural bein’ on the fence isn’t cause of the network, rather the show runners & stars.
supe’s stars jared and jesnen signed a 2 year deal last year. i doubt the show is in the either way list because of the stars. i think its mainly because they got off to a shaky start this season. though the recent episode on the 4th ended with an epic scene.
I’m with you on Human Target. SO much better this year, on every level. My husband and I love it. Please keep it! Put it on Fridays if you want! We’re hermits.
Human Target is so fun to watch–great additions this year, and it’s full of surprises. Lie to Me is great too, hopefully Fox does not have to choose between the two or shelve them in favour of yet another cop show.
My heart dropped when I saw Human Target. That show is so great. And it is better than last season.
This list is “pretty” accurate, but you may want to think about the following changes:
)
American Dad (From Certain to Bubble): While American Dad does OK, it is not a big hit, and Fox has been looking for a viable replacement. Bob’s Burgers was “supposed” to be the replacement, but…
Bob’s Burgers (From Likely to Bubble):It’s been dropping substantially each week. It isn’t the hit that Fox was hoping for.
Community (From Likely to Bubble): Community has been hovering at low 2s for too long, NBC may take this opportunity to give it the Axe.
$!&@ My Dad Says (From Likely to bubble): This is interesting, because while Dad gets pretty good ratings and is usually above CBS’s average ratings, CBS has notoriously cancelled its lowest rated 30-min comedy each year.
Mr. Sunshine (From Likely to Bubble): From the first episode ratings, definite. From the second episode ratings, probably. But if it keeps dropping like it has been, that will spell trouble.
Supernatural (Could go either way to Certain): Not sure where you’re pulling this one out of. Supernatural is the CW’s strongest show, they’re not going to cancel that one. The only chance for cancellation is if the stars don’t want to do it anymore.
No Ordinary Family (From Danger to Dead): There is no chance saving this show. Sad, but true.
(Note: These changes are not based on my feelings, they come from a reputable source which I cannot link here because my comment would then be deleted
American Dad has already been renewed. Awhile ago.
Detroit 187 is in the “danger zone?” That blows!
I love Detroit 187– it’s GREAT TV! I hope they keep faith in it.
I agree. It shouldn’t be in the danger zone. But not many people know of it because it’s not highly marketed. But it’s a great show and I love every second of it! Wish it was doing better. I don’t want to see it canceled.
Exactly Diane. No one knows about it. Best cop show on right now. I think audiences want some sort of a “hook” now. You can’t just say “hey, watch Detroit 187, it’s good.”
Detroit 187 is my favorite show right now. I think James McDaniel is brilliant on it. He needs an Emmy for the episode about the Detroit riots.
Detroit 187 is one of the best shows on television! I can’t believe they’re even considering getting rid of it before they even try to seriously market it.
I also love Detroit 187. Great ensemble and writing. Way better than Law & Order SVU at this point.
Detroit 187 is great – I hope it sticks around for a long time. Michael Imperioli is fantastic. Christopher who?
It’s a good show, but not better than Southland.
LOVE Detroit 187!!!!!!!!!
@Fatima I love both shows can you imagine if Southland and Detroit 187 came on back to back on TNT I think that would definitely help the ratings.
I love Detroit 1-8-7 for its gritty realism (shot on location in Detroit) but most of all for Michael Imperioli’s piercing eyes and hair you want to run your fingers through. PLEASE renew!
I wish Detroit 1-8-7 would get more love! It’s such a great show!
I agree with many of the above comments. It is an intelligent show with some interesting side and back stories that I would like to see develop. Michael Imperioli is doing a great job playing his part and the rest of the cast is solid as well. I hope someone gives it a chance.
x2 on all of the above
We also love Detroit 187. The whole cast works well together and the story lines have been great. Could use a little more Motown music in the background though.
How sad I really enjoy this show.
I totally agree with you. It is one of the best new dramas this year. Hard to believe that it did not catch on.
Detroit 1-8-7 is the best thing to hit TV since NYPD Blue. I can’t believe they would ax it and let something as inane as Wipeout stay! That is a sad comment on the American taste in entertainment.
As Fatima said, NOTHING is better than Southland. But 1-8-7 is awesome and I really enjoy it. Let’s hope that ABC doesn’t make a completely ignorant decision like NBC did with Southland.
I have watched it every week & I love this show. I can’t believe it is in the Danger Zone. I sure hope they keep it.
187 has to be one of my favorite network shows right now. I was kind of hoping that new Chrysler commercial about Detroit would give it a little boost…not sure if that happened or not.
I can’t believe that ABC would pull the rug out from under this great show. It is so well written with a brilliant cast. It has gotten to the point where I’m sure that if I like a show, it will be pulled.
Detroit 1-8-7 is a great, character-driven show with lots of drama and humor. Season One eps got better and better each week. I want to see where the stories and characters will go in Season Two. Bring back 1-8-7!!
Also I REALLY want Human Target renewed. If you aren’t watching it you are missing out. Human target & Fringe are my 2 favorite shows
I agree. We just found Human Target and I love it
You guys are nuts, human target was great in the first season but has become utter trash with Ilsa Pucci and how they have had to constantly justify their actions to her, and they blew the entire backstory buildup of Chance’s character leading up to the Old Man. The show is awful and unless they get rid of Pucci, it deserves to be canceled.
Besides always thinking about Poochy the rockin’ dog from the Simpson’s, I like the addition of Ilsa Pucci. Ironically though, I do not like the addition of Ames.
I think this season of Human Target is still trying to feel things out. Potential with Ilsa and Ames, but some dragging down, too. Either way Guerrero is the best character on there, and if Human Target doesn’t get renewed, he needs his own show.
Human Target was really impressing me last season but I’m still mixed on this season. I’m enjoying it, but it lost a bit of its punch for me.
Human Target great with New Cast Now one of most interesting series. Last season had No depth & quickly became boring except if watched after six pack consumed. Excellent writing, good variety , balance of personalities & depth of characters, plus good pace of action in addition to developing characters one might really care about. Last season, more like an elementary school level video game. Of course, we don’t watch Fox except for this program, period. Other excellent shows: Glades, Hawaii Five 0, White Collar, Justified, CSI- NY ( this season with new character), The Cape and ( altho little silly ) Warehouse 13 —- oops, many of these are cable, sorry.
Just my opinion.
Fox needs new writers if they think Human Target should go It is one of better shows on right now
I do not understand, how “Human Target” or “Fringe” could be on the Bubble, They are both great shows! I think that the programmers should be on the bubble, and the shows stay!
Detroit 187 has the best characters of any cop drama on tv. I hope they don’t make a mistake and cancel it.
Great shows, both of them. Fox would be wise to keep them.
I agree with you!!!!!
Target and Fringer are bopth excellent. Too bad The Good Guys didn’t make it, that was truly a great and funny shopw with a good ensemble of characters.
Fringe is listed in The Danger Zone
what a crock fringe is the best show on fox!!! (running close second is Raising Hope)
I met her in a club down in North Soho where you drink champagne and it tastes just like Cherry Cola
C-O-L-A Cola. She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.
I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said, “Lola”
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo Lola
So, Happy Birthday…..?
This write-up is really apelaping to thinking folks like me. It’s not only thought-provoking, it draws you in from the beginning. This really is well-written content. The views here are also apelaping to me. Thank you.
WHAT ABOUT PARENTHOOD? I’M CHANELLING MAX NOW? WHAT ABOUT PARENTHOOD? BUT YOU DIDN’T MENTION PARENTHOOD!
Parenthood is listed under “Strong Odds”
It is listed, but you’re hilarious!
I’m with Carla/Max – I won’t rest until it’s officially renewed!
Parenthood is under strong odds! calm down.
I love love love Parenthood!!! I think it is one of the best shows that’s been on in awhile. I look foward to it every tuesday! I also love Lie to Me and Better with You. I’m so disappointed that they aren’t on yet. I think they’re gone for good.
I don’t know why no one has mentioned them. I mean I get into shows really easily, but those were definitely some great ones. Better With You is hilarious!! Off the Map …also amazing! Please don’t cut Parenthood though!!
@ Calistoga- totally agree with you about Human Target and The Cape. Both shows are great and should be on the sure thing list.
Supernatural is on the bubble because its original showrunner left last year.
I want Fringe to get another season to wrap it up. I think it will get a 13 episode order and a full season if Fox’s new shows are bombs.
I’m actually surprised to see Bones as a sure thing. I read somewhere that it was on the bubble last year because of its cost and large cast.
Kripke is still exec. producer of Supernatural and listed as creator. Sera Gamble is the exec. producer who is overseeing the writer’s like Kripke used to do. He’s still in there and hasn’t left. Supernatural isn’t on the fence and I believe it will be back next year and probably will go on for more after that as long as the creative team, cast and crew stay on board.
I read an article a while back that the show was doing so well that it was definitely being renew for another season and both the stars were on board already. Kripke when it was created had planned for the show to be 5 years thats why it had such a finalized yet meh ending last season but its got a decent fan base so The Cw doesn’t want to let it go and the cast doesn’t want it to end either.
Wrong. Supernatural is not on the bubble. This list is misinformed.
Bones is probably getting renewed for holding its own against CSI and now has done a backdoor pilot for a spinoff it probably will get 2 more seasons unless it suffers a spectacular decline because 1 or more stars leave…since the show runnership has been stable and drama-free…
Fringe and Human Target, two best shows on TV HANDS DOWN.
Fringe is in the “Could Go Either Way” column
If Fringe gets cancelled then I’ll probably stop watching TV all together. It’s one of the few shows that makes me use my brain cells and not just stupid fodder.
supernatural’s not in the could go either way. they’ve been filming in vancouver for the past week.
Whoever writes this I think just guesses based on overall ratings. Supernatural is a sure thing. You can take that to the bank. Ausiello said as much as well. And Fox is pretty happy with Fringe’s cult following hanging in there despite the Friday death slot.
Hilarious. Shows just how nonsensical this entire story is. Supernatural as a “could go either way?” Ha ha! Riigghhtt. That show is one of the most secure on the entire network.
We’re some of those ABC shows like Castle just renewed earlier this week?
were…you meant WERE
I wish people would LEARN HOW TO SPELL!!!
jg meant “weren’t”. Maybe you should learn how to spell before you correct others!
I wish people would not be a-holes, but what are you going to do?
actually, given jg’s terrible spelling, it was hard for hello spellcheck to properly interpret what jg meant. that has nothing to do with hello’s spelling.
@skip – actually, given the word ‘just’ in jg’s comment, in think that ruby’s interpretation is spot-on. (and can i just say that i’m laughing and enjoying this little thread?)
Calm the Hell down.
@ y’all – Actually, I believe the question mark at the end of the sentence implies that jg was inquiring about the status of these shows as evidence by information that may have occurred earlier in the week. It would be just as proper to for jg to have said (paraphrasing here) “were some of these shows renewed”. But in a world of autocorrect, maybe it is not that a person doesn’t know how to spell, maybe they just don’t read what they have typed before hitting post. Then again, maybe “we’re” all just idiots for reading what is essentially a gossip magazine website and then blasting each other for improper use of words, spelling, punctuation and syntax.
Oh… the irony.
Actually, jg is a TV producer and was bragging about his programs being renewed, though some of the other punctuation was a bit off: We’re some of those ABC shows, like “Castle,” just renewed earlier this week.
We love you, jg! Keep producing fine ABC television to enrich our dreary, Web-posting lives.
Grammar is spelled with an ‘a,’ not an ‘e.’ The punctuation mark should be within the quotation marks and, in your case, should have been a question mark and not a period. It’s quite clear that both you and jg, as well as the majority of posters on the entire Internet, should turn off your televisions and study books about spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Castle is on there on the “sure thing” list:
Castle (ABC; renewed through May 2012)
there are a few shows I could move around, still. Some Sure Thing don’t deserve to be there, as some of the DEAD ones should be given a better day/time slot and see what happens. At this time of the year with new shows and new seasons, it’s hard to keep up what’s happening on a daily bases. I missed the Docs on foreign land yesterday ’cause the whole schedule was convoluted… better luck next week.
ok tv, heres the deal. go ahead and cancel Brothers and Sisters, keep Million Dollar Money Drop and One Tree Hill , maybe even The Event for one more season to see if it picks up. Just PLEASE drop V and replace it by reviving FlashForward. Bring Elizabeth Mitchell and her awesomeness to FlashForward so we don’t lose her too, just don’t kill OTH or Money Drop.
Bring back Brother’s & Sisters really want to see Giles Marini on TV.And the Defenders awesome show.
Lmao you want to keep those crappy shows and get rid of a great one like Brothers & Sisters? Thats hilarious.
Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Don’t get rid of V, yet! They just brought Diana on, and I loved her in the original! I do want Flash Forward back, though.
two words: GO FRINGE.
TGIFF … Thank God It’s Fringe Friday !
Amen. Fringe is the best show on the list!
In any universe, alternate or not, Fringe still sucks.
No, you suck. My balls!
Love Fringe! It is my favorite show. It’s a smart show that some people just don’t get, I guess.
This list would be an even better source if you could split it up by network, or at least in stead of listing the shows in alphabetical order, list them by network. Just some indication as to which show belongs to which net.
The network affiliation is in parenthesis behind the title of the show. Please shut down your computer, turn off your television, and do some serious studying.
It’s not complicated. If it’s on NBC, it has either been cancelled or left to twist in the wind until June…
crossing my fingers for Lie to me -I love the show and it would be a great loss!!!
My first thought was “How could ‘Lie to Me’ be in the danger zone??”
We must save lie to me. The season finale was so good!
I’d actually like to see Lie to Me moved to USA network. I think it would flourish there.
NO! Don’t cancel Lie To Me or The Cape or even Chase!! I like them all! I wonder how they rate what goes and what stays since a lot of us probably dvr them and come back to watch them. That’s what I do!
Don’t forget Terriers! I’m still mourning that show- thanks alot FX!
Me too.
Why no news on cable shows? Most of them are better than network anyway.
Cable networks: buy some of the cancelled shows that we love! Keep them on the air!
Terriers is dead? Did FX announce that?
sadly, yes they did. right after season was over.
So am I!!
Terriers never got a chance! FX didn’t promote it and it aired during a dispute with Dish Network about sporting events. Lots of people didn’t get to see Terriers because FX blocked it.
Where’s desperate housewives??
on the “sure thing” list
Ugh.
And Detroit 187 is in the danger zone? Where’s the justice in that?
Actually, DH is on the “strong odds” list, when it SHOULD be on the “sure things” list. It will definitely be back next season.
Human Target’s in the danger zone? Dude…
I know, Really???
Yeah it sucks but I figured that when they started doubling up on air episodes.
I like Human Target. It’s ratings have been better each week. Why is it in the Danger Zone?
It’s been in the danger zone since midway through season 1. It BARELY made it to season 2 & if we want a season 3 the ratings have to go up immediately if it’s no too late already. Also a letter to fox wouldn’t hurt to tell them how much you love the show
Seriously! It’s one of the best shows. Human Target, Fringe, and Lie To Me should be automatic renewals!
Human Target on Fridays before Fringe, would make Fridays a must see TV night for me.
Wholeheartedly agree about moving HT and Fringe to Fridays!
I am SOOOO bummed about the good guys!! That show was awesome!
Yes it was.
What am I supposed to do without the ‘Stache?!
ooh,I agree. Then again, I would watch Colin Hanks in anything.
Bradley Whitford was so great in this – talk about over the top!
Agreed. Dan Stark is GOD.
I rule!!
Dan Stark is honestly one of my favorite characters on TV at the moment (or was, anyway). So much fun.
You could tell he was having the time of his life in every scene he was in. Despite the cheese factor you can’t help but love Stark.
I’m gonna miss Dan “Busting some punks”….sniff.
I love the Good Guys, I’ve already been missing it on my DVR for the holiday break. It would be so sad to see it go.
I agree The Good Guys was a great show that needed a chance it had USA network written all over it when it was made. What a shame we`ll never get to see Dan Stark anymore.
The best thing on TV this year!
We loved this show too! So funny and charming.
Such a shame about it. Fox should bump it over to FX. It would do great leading or trailing the Always Sunny/The League block.
Yes – I thought it belonged on Cable, too. Funny – if it had premiered on USA (along with other “quirky” shows such as Psyche and Royal Pains – both of which I like very much), it would have had a solid 8 – 12 week run, had a hiatus, and returned triumphantly.
Funny and cheesy–who could resist???? Love Stark and his stuck in the 80′s ‘tude!! Thank you Bradley Whitford, I love you!!!
Please FOX, don’t take yet another excellent series away from us — and one of few that actually made me laugh consistently, and picked me up when I was down–to me that is worth a dozen STUPID reality shows. Seriously, things have been really rough all over lately. This series is a gem, and out of the ordinary. We all need something to laugh along with, and The Good Guys is it for me!!
Taking Good Guys off is just straight crimey.
@Katie, perfect response! Let’s go bust us some punks at that Fox cable thingy.
Nooooooooooooooooooo…say it ain’t so…The Good Guys are AWESOME!!
Cut this show, and the Bad Guys win !!
Chuck should have 78 episodes by the end of this season and hitting the 100 mark should make it much more marketable for syndication.
If the Powers That Be are smart, they’d give Chuck a fifth and final season of 22 episodes so the writers/producers can set up all the happy endings and leave with a well conceived, well executed and complete TV series.
well, it’s on NBC. They don’t do smart.
Totally agree amanda! As said before, NBC suits are losing viewership faster than any shows they have yanked last few years. Told friends how much “we like THE CAPE, but risky to invest the time since its NBC!” We love LOLA and just can’t believe they’d NOT support it. Wish another station went with it and NOT NBC!
I know – maybe they could move Chuck to a great time slot for the final season. Then, after a couple weeks, give the slot back to whoever had it originally and try to move Chuck back to its original time slot. Oh wait – they tried that once before.
Tony, Chuck has always aired at 8:00 on Mondays.
LOLA’s gettin’ the boot? Man! It’s hard out here for a p!mp!
can’t they put “chuck” on usa?? they could do first-run episodes on the network.
Chuck would be a great fit for USA! Now, they have Covert Affairs about spies already…
I think both Chuck & Lie to me would both be great fits for USA. They are the types of shows that flourish there. And I have to say, I spend a good percentage of the time I spend watching tv, watching USA. From NCIS to Covert Affairs, to Psych. I was a loyal Monk viewer, and look forward to new shows USA puts out. (yep, Fairly Legal also)
You know that is a great idea. It would do great like some already mentioned plus White Collar. hate Royal pains though
I like Fairly Legal and Royal Pains. I will be sad if they cancel lie to me. That show is really good and would definitely fir into USA’s line up.
PUT CHUCK ON USA.Smallville ON FOX FAMILY
It’s all my fault! I forgot to eat Subway every Monday, and now Chuck’s in trouble again. I’m sorry!!!!! Forgive me, Big Mike, and I’ll share my sandwich with you!!!!!
I love happy endings … even though they cost extra.
NBC execs are idiots. Chuck is one of the most well-crafted action-comedy-drama shows on TV! It’s like “The Office” or “Big Bang Theory” meets “Alias” which = utter fantasticness. It’s just SO good. How many shows can make you laugh like crazy AND keep you on the edge of your seat AND bring tears to you eyes all in the same hour? Oh, and the acting is really great. Yeah, NBC, this show should REALLY be a sure thing.
Interesting the bite against NBC execs which I can agree they don’t always make smart choices .. yet they also own USA which has AWESOME shows! Doesn’t make much sense!
Totally agree with Sarah & Rebecca… Considering the lack of “smart choices” by NBC execs over too many years, we think it would be safe to say they have been “idiots!” We also think USA is awesome and watch all of their new series. NBC has new leadership that should help them make better selections and then stick by them for longer than 1-3 showing(s) so they can find audience. Cannot comprehend why NBC would give up the wonderful drama’s we get on USA, unless its because advertisers don’t want to buy into one hour dramas! Maybe they should rethink that… we quit watching 30 min sitcoms and all ‘reality’ shows except talent contests. With NEW programming on FOX, FX, TNT, USA (and convenient repeats), we very seldom use our dvr or dvd player.
Fingers crossed for my favorite show: Hawaii Five-0!
I’m really surprised it’s not a Sure Thing
I’m not surprised. Ratings have been dropping steadily since the first episode. It’s doing worse than CSI: Miami was last season.
It’s pretty expensive to make and I personally don’t think the writing is very good. Maybe with Caan’s Golden Globe nomination it’ll get a second season.
The ratings really havent been bad. They dropped after the first few, but theyre averaging 10-11 mill each week. Hardly calls for canceling a show. Plus they’ll be getting a ton after that football game, most likely. Definitely think this is one of CBS’ popular shows, and has a pretty big following.. they’d be stupid to drop it.
It just won a People’s Choice, too. It’ll be back
It’s too expensive and the ratings aren’t good.
Check the 18-49 demo. That’s what matters and that has been dropping since day 1.
Hawaii 5-0 is decent; I DVR it but I admit it takes me awhile to get caught up with them. I think networks have such unrealistic expectations; everything has to be a mega-hit and sustain high ratings or else. This is a decent show but TV is so flooded now with so many options, shows with average/decent ratings don’t get the credit they need.
And yet, shows reality garbage on cable like that plastic surgery gameshow and children in pageants move forward regardless.
Jin
Boat!
Unless you guys are looking at a different list than the one above – it IS on the ‘sure thing’ list
MINE 2. ILKE THE OLD 1 TO
I figured “… My Dad Says” was screwed since its episode order got reduced.
Definitely on the border between Strong Odds and Shaky Ground … should be interesting to see what happens when Idol launches on Thursdays….
Interval swim this morning. 2x500m/5min. rec.- 10:46, 10:52. Strength & citoiniondng after school today. Zercher Squat- 95/2sets/5reps. 100/2sets/5reps, 130/2sets/3reps, 140/2reps, 150/1rep. Gonna use more weight next time.
I loved The Good Guys! I’m sad to see it go.
LOVE THE GOOD GUYS… hope these loveable characters find a new home !!
I feel a little better about Community being on there.
Me too! That’s the one show I watch that’s ever in danger of being canceled.
I will cry a freaking river if that show is cancelled. Great tv!!
Community will be back. It’s still a buzz show.
