Charlie Sheen takes a meeting at Fox. Winning?

Since it won’t happen with Two and a Men, Charlie Sheen may be looking for another way to return to primetime: A source confirmed that the actor met with a Fox Sports executive — as well as suits from the Fox network — even though it doesn’t sound like any ideas were exchanged.

TMZ reported that Sheen sat down with Fox Sports executive David Hill last Thursday, as well as Fox Networks Group Chairman Peter Rice and head of reality Mike Darnell. Apparently, the meeting lasted for about an hour. Why Fox? Well, Sheen’s early rants that led to his firing occurred on the The Dan Patrick Show, which airs on Fox Radio and is simulcast on Fox Sports Net.

Sheen might just be fishing for the best opportunity. Billionaire Mark Cuban, who owns HDNet, also said he had talks with Sheen about bringing the actor’s “winning” act to his cable network. In an interview with ESPN, Cuban, who also owns the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, said, “I reached out and we’ve had some conversations, and we’re going to work on doing some things.”

Enough of all the Charlie Sheen news! It’s time for some Charlie Sheen parody. Check out “A Day in the Life of Charlie Sheen” on The Loop Now. You’ll be doing all the “winning.”

      • ron roth

  • PeterBilt

Ha ha Sheen is so early March 2011,

    • cici217

      Good one!

  • Darrow

Rumor has it that Sheen and Lorre are going to be given a shot to mend fences. If I was a betting man, CBS & Warner Brothers will aid in this happening and Charlie Sheen will be back where he belongs, on “Two and a Half Men”.

    • jessica

I hope so! One of my favorite shows on TV!

      • Brett

        Me 2!

      • Jon

        Me 2 and 1/2!

  • Phil

    “Two and a Men” ???

    • Andre

You expect too much from EW. Be happy they spelt everything correctly.

      • Darrow

Very true, hasn’t been the same since Ausiello left. Thank god for TV Line.

      • Matt

Ausiello was a goof-ball with overused schtick. It’s a miss-spelling; life goes on, ya know?

      • claudenorth

What’s Tori got to do with it?

      • Gretchen

Spelt? You are getting on EW when you can’t even use the proper word? Next time, try ‘spelled’.

      • Reality

        Spelt?

      • Mark

        From dictionary.com
        [spelt]
        –verb
a simple past tense and past participle of spell .

    • The Man

Phil, perhaps the author of this story was discussing a new show entitled “Two and Amen!”, with Sheen playing the leader of a church group…

    • Jason

Ya… What is “Two and a Men”? Must be his new show.

    • Margie

I swear they must have let their editors go or something. It seems like every article has several errors, sometimes making it impossible to read a sentence. Or maybe the powers that be are just slave driving the poor writers to spew articles too quickly.

  • daviddavid

As predicted, Sheen will be back on his TV show … yes, HIS TV show!

    • angie

LOL… If it was “his” show then I guess he fired HIMSELF two weeks ago…

  • Brian

Any network willing to put up with his nonsense deserves what they get…

  • Louise

Oh Brian what do you expect ? Networks want money and Sheen has proved he is popular by himself, he can make them money money..The guy is smart whatever you can think of him (and he doesn’t care anyway..winning !)
Actually i would prefer to see him come back on movies. But this show gives the highest paid check..and it will give the cast their work back..so why not !

  • Taxi

    OMG, THIS IS AWESOME.
THE RATINGS WILL GO THRU THE ROOF!

    • Mrs Thurston Howell III

Probably not. Maybe the first episode, if he returns, will have high ratings because the viewing public is obsessed with watching train wrecks, car wrecks, etc. But after that, the novelty will wear off and people will only remember what a crack head he is.

  • Brett

I’m still hoping he returns to 2 and a Half Men. Charlie Sheen is amazing but his chemistry with Jon Cryer is WINNING!

  • Justadad

Sick and Sicker. This Poor species of a man needs medical help and you put him on Head line News, when the world is going all to Hell. Now I know some of you people need help also if I dare say. Get help Charlie, grow up, your just a hunk of meat like a skunk, go away, come back when you are better. Good luck “OLD MAN”.

  • CHARLIE(NOT SHEEN)

IS HOLLYWOOD SO BURNT….THAT THEY WOULD PUT UNDER CONTRACT A GUY WHOSE ONLY VALUE WOULD BE TO IMPLODE LIVE FOR ALL TO SEE. AMERICA IS “NOT” OBSESSED OVER CHARLIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMAGINE IF MCCAIN HAD CHARLIES PR PEOPLE….HE WOULD HAVE WON IN A LANDSLIDE…LET THE GUY OD IN PEACE!

  • Ang

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he ends up at FOX. Sheen is a big believer in 9/11 “conspiracy theories” so he would fit right in at the network of delusion.

  • DRG

Dear EW, A challenge: see if you can go an entire week without posting any news on the following”

    1) Charlie Sheen
    2) Lady Ca Ca
    3) American Idle
    4) Glee

    Go ahead. I dare ya.

    • zarleyt

There is no way that will happen in the near future! Unfortunately what you mentioned is entertainment to most. Not at all to me.

  • Redvector

I don’t see him going back to Two and 1/2 Men. The atmosphere on the set would be poisonous. Charlie has just said too many things that can’t be taken back.

    • kerry

Oh please. For millions of dollars a week, they will pretend like it never happened. You guys make a big deal out of nothing. I love 2 1/2 Men and I want to see it back on the air with Charlie!

Whatever happens in Charlie’s life is going to happen whether he is on the show or not.

  • Clete

Charlie Sheen needs a new show. Given it’s Fox, I am thinking that a remake of Mr. Ed should fit. He could play the horse..but with a twist, he could talk out of the other end.
