TNT has renewed Southland for a fourth season and picked up a new crime drama called Perception.
The network had ordered 10 more episodes of Southland, which averaged 2.9 million viewers this season, up 6% from last year.
Perception stars Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) as an eccentric neuroscientist who helps the federal government solve complex crimes. Rachael Leigh Cook, Arjay Smith and Kelly Rowan also star. The show is from Kenneth Biller (Star Trek: Voyager).
YES!! YES!!!! Southland is great!!! Can’t wait for the new season!! Finally, TNT has done something right!!!

Meanwhile, NBC frantically searches for another “Law & Order” to fill its schedule…
…seriously, it’s just as well that “Southland” is on TNT. Seems to be thriving there in a way that NBC would’ve botched even if they’d renewed it.
You are so right…network tv is far too generic save for certain shows that don’t fit the mold (coughing as he says fringe)… Cable is where the best art comes from.

I’d put Southland just behind Breaking Bad for Best Drama on TV. This past season was flawless.
