CBS’ Sunday night reality block is coming back next fall.

No big surprise here: The Amazing Race is going to take its 19th trip around the world, while Undercover Boss will continue go behind the scenes in America’s top corporations.

Race and Boss both averaged about 12 million viewers last fall, with the former having won the best competition reality Emmy seven times (until its streak was broken by Bravo’s Top Chef last year).

    Que Bueno!!! Muy buen programa.

Fortunately for Amazing Race, this was a non-elimination season. However, there will be a penalty. Next season, Boston Rob & Russell will form a team.

Oh, no! Now that you’ve put that out into the aether, it’s bound to come to be. My poor TAR! Which, by the way, I’m thrilled to have renewed.

    2 pieces of crap.

  • Dak

    WHY.

  • Peter

    Amazing Race still rocks.

  • Jen

I still like TAR but it’s not realistic for Undercover Boss to go on much longer – who would fall for the lame cover stories they tell employees as to why there are cameras filming them applying for a job?

    • Kiki

my thoughts exactly … don’t know how they could renew Boss???

      • Ada

They already don’t fall for it! Every single week there is some person who says, “You look just like our boss”

More Philiminations, YAY!! The Amazing Race – the only reality show I’ve stuck with since its premiere. Jerry Bruckheimer can churn as many crapola action/disaster movies he wants, but this one’s a keeper for CBS.

I love TAR so much. I will watch until they pull it off the air. Maybe they will make it so season 30.

I love TAR! This is the best reality show out there. The drama and anxiety from the teams cannot be scripted.

I agree Annie Mae, and I’m predicting with the EXCELLENT season we are in right now that TAR is gonna take back that Emmy Crown. Seeing teams we are familiar with, the comraderie among the teams along with the playfulness and support has added to the excitement and drama of the race. And Luke’s meltdown at the tea challenge, with his mother’s loving support, the Globetrotter’s encouraging him on as they left, and finally, the men in the hall all hugging Luke as he finally finished the task, well there’s your Emmy right there.

      • KMA

Seriously I’m sure I will get grief for this, but Luke is the most annoying contestant. His meltdowns make me want to change the channel. He’s deaf, that doesn’t affect his taste buds. He’s going to live with his mommy forever.

      • AcaseofGeo

Well KMA, somehow I missed the entire season that Luke and his mom were on originally (14?). I’m not sure what I was doing haha. So I don’t know how he acted on that one, but what I’m saying is the story arc of this episode was great drama, whether or not Luke is annoying. My guess is that sometimes people who do not have all of the basic senses “come across” differently or “act” differently. My Mother is almost deaf and sometimes she’s a little shrill in her actions, so I guess I’m basing my observation on what I’ve personally experienced.

I agree! This season has been excellent! I think they just need to focus more on casting their teams. The past few seasons (other than this one) they have become very formulaic about casting and it makes the game no fun when there is only one strong team.

I am really NOT a reality tv show person, but I love TAR.

  • Tom

There really isn’t much on TV to watch anymore. Amazing race at least is entertainment. I sure wish they would rehire all the scriptwriters they lost during the last great purge, I mean, strike. On the otherhand, if you aren’t going to share some of that love with them, I wouldn’t bother either.

  • Steve Barnes

TAR is the best. Survivor has become a popularity contest and a springboard for fools like Rob & the world’s worst human, Russell. Undercover Boss, however, fools no one.

  • Vago

Thumbs up on TAR…it’s one of those rare shows I can watch my 11 yr old daughter and NOT have to explain everything…we both love it

  • Vago

Way to go for TAR…it’s one of those rare shows I can watch my 11 yr old daughter and NOT have to explain everything…we both love it

  • ju

I love TAR!!!! We watch it all every sunday as a family. It is very rare indeed when everybody can watch the same show and not change channels for some inappropiate behavior. Go CBS!!

i agree. undercover boss isn’t that great. kind of boring. i love the amazing race! glad to see it’s back once again lol
