Host swap on 'The Talk' and 'Price is Right' -- EXCLUSIVE

Price-Talk-Carey

And the actual retail price of the Chenbot is…priceless!

EW has learned exclusively that The Talk’s Julie Chen, together with fellow host Holly Robinson Peete, will participate in a special crossover event with The Price is Right on April 6. The duo from CBS’ daytime talk show will appear on the network’s game show in the morning, and later that day, Price host Drew Carey will “stop by” The Talk.

Actually, nothing’s that spur-of-the-moment in Hollywood. Chen and Peete will actually tape their appearance on Price today, so the installment is ready to air for the crossover next week. It’s unclear what role the two women will serve in the land of Plinko and the Showcase Showdown, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that Chen and Peete will transform themselves into a couple of Carey’s Beauties so they can open the curtain to…a BRAND NEW CAR!!!

Poor Drew. He lost all that weight only for EW.com to post an old pic when he was heavier. What’s next, run photos of Jen & Brad when they were together the next time either has a movie coming out?

    • Meli

Nah, they’ll just post pictures of the Chenbot and Holly before they had their latest facelifts.

  • Buffy Freak

What a brilliant idea…I’m sure this will give millions of new viewers a reason to not watch The Talk….

      Drew hasn’t been fired yet?
The Talk should send Sharon & Leah.
The Talk is better then the tired ladies of the View!

      • Matt

Why would Drew be fired when he’s made the ratings of Price as high as they were when Bob Barker was there? You need to stop smoking the crack and wake up.

      • Meli

Hey, since Drew came on TPIR the prizes have gotten a lot more awesome. They gave away a freakin’ BENTLEY last year!!

“I honestly thought this could be a good show and not what feels like a women’s book club where nobody’s read the book…or any book”

SNL’s take on The Talk was so spot on.

  • KarlHall

LOVE TPIR! What a classic gameshow.

  • Jon

Shouldn’t TPIR have changed them to “Carey’s Cuties” to keep the alliteration?

  • Ada

TPIR is intolerable with Drew Carey. He seems to have no enthusiasm for what he is doing and just drones through the day. Ugh new hire needed.

  • Bill

What a desperate act to try to get viewers to watch the Talk.

And Sara Gilbert should only be on a show called The Silent because that’s pretty much all she is on this show. Talk about having no on-air personality. She barely acknowledges the audience when she walks on, says little on the show and sort of quickly folks into the backdrop as times moves on. FAIL

Les Moonves canceled two perfectly fine daytime shows so his Chenbot could bore viewers in the afternoon. Now were going to be bored with her in the morning….gee thanks!

    • Bob

      Gotta keep the wifey happy!

  • Lisa

You people DO know that this show does great in the ratings for their demographic… It’s not going anywhere lol

  • Kevin

Some considered Drew Carey as a poor man’s Bob Barker but it doesn’t really matter where he stands on his level even when contestants get embarrassed on national television.

    • Sean

I thought Bob Barker was a poor man’s Bob Barker.

  • Kevin

When will Drew ever come up with a name for his models especially Rachel Reynolds who to me look likes Jessica Simpson in my opinion.

  • Amanda

At least The Talk is a lot better than The View. The women on The Talk discuss things like motherhood, family, friendships, etc. They don’t try to pretend to be experts on the currents events and politics, like the overrated “comedians”, actors, and reality personalities on The View.

  • Richard Ott

    Another shameless promotional plug,
courtisy of The Price Is Right.

I enjoy the TALK. Love all of the ladies who are on it individually. I am a big fan of Leah Remini’s say it like it is and Holly Robinson Peet’s brilliant, a mother’s point of view from most. Sharon, after watching her with her beloved Ozzie, big fan. Sarah Gilbert is brilliant and DOES contribute. She also came up with the show with her partner! Julie – had to warm up to her. This show made me like her. She is not the snob she seemed on other shows. (Sorry did not like her on the show where people lived in a house and got voted out. Maybe it was the show’s format made her seem cold) Now I see the other side of her. Fun, the format is good. Like one of my Mother’s hen parties! Keep it comin’.
