Will Arnett has been cast alongside Christina Applegate in her NBC comedy pilot.
The untitled project from Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels and SNL writer Emily Spivey is a family comedy about an acerbic working mom and her stay-at-home husband and opinionated parents.
Arnett plays the husband. Which also means, btw, that he’s likely not secretly cast to take over for Steve Carell on NBC’s The Office. Arnett is making a guest appearance in the show’s season finale along with Ricky Gervais, which fueled speculation that he might be the new boss next season. Not even an illusionist can be two places at once (unless NBC decided to pluck him from the new project and stick him in The Office, but would they toy with us like that? Come on!).
He has the weirdest face ever! I love Christina Applegate.

If my shows keep getting cancelled (Will Arnett) I`d call it a day and find something else to do. I wonder how these actors feel when there shows get cancelled. I would just give it up.
He’s doing his job: making the deals, booking the work. People keep hiring him. When the material is good, the audience is there for him, too. So really, he’s doing exactly what a working actor should be doing.
Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph, AND Will Arnett! This show is an absolute MUST watch now. I sure hope it’s good enough for NBC to put it on it’s schedule, it sure sounds like a great show. Let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint.
