Hugh Dancy, Parker Posey joining 'The Big C'

Showtime has nabbed British film star Hugh Dancy and indie film veteran Parker Posey as guest stars for the upcoming second season of The Big C.

Both will have multi-episode arcs on the show. Dancy will appear in at least six episodes as a “charming cancer patient who, after a rocky start, befriends Cathy (Laura Linney) during their time in an experimental drug trial.”

Posey will be in four episodes as an “older woman who develops an unlikely relationship with Cathy‚Äôs teenaged son.” The Big C returns Monday, June 27 and will also include Alan Alda as a previously announced guest star

Wow, they are lucky, lucky actors to get to participate in that acting masterclass. If you haven’t seen The Big C, you’re missing something special.

Love that show. But who are Parker Posey and Hugh Dancy? Never heard of them. What movies or shows have they been in?

You may know them if you seen them – where’s the pics!
Hugh is married to Clare Danes and he’s been in a few movies.
Parker was on Boston Legal and I remember her in ‘The Sweetest Thing’

Hugh Dancy was in Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Jane Austin Book Club, Ella Enchanted, and Black Hawk Down, among others. He looks like Orlando Bloom but with charisma and comic timing.

Parker Posey had leading roles in all of the Christopher Guest movies.

I just want to add that Hugh Dancy was in a smaller film called Adam. He was amazing. He certainly has a lot of untapped potential.

Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who has seen Adam. Thanks for mentioning it, Jennifer. I really loved Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne in it.

Wow, I loooove Parker Posey – I don’t think she was bad in the big c like some critics wrote… wish she was on it permanently … she’s an indie film star… she was in Party Girl and House of Yes, to name just a couple…
