'Teen Mom' Chelsea gets a shocking message from her ex-boyfriend -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

On last week’s Teen Mom 2, Chelsea and Adam mutually parted ways. She was tired of wondering whether he was cheating, and he was tired of being asked to, you know, come home at night. Their split was not without some tears (only hers, of course), but on tonight’s episode, Chelsea tries her darnedest to keep her ex out of sight and out of mind during a road trip to a Lady Gaga concert. During the ride, though, Chelsea gets an unnerving message from Adam. Check out our exclusive preview: READ FULL STORY »

'The Bachelor' finale: Fans still like those (short-lived) engagements!

The frightening sight of an overly-therapized (therapied?) guy picking a tragic single mom helped ABC to take Monday in total viewers (13.8 million) and adults 18-49  (4.5 rating/12 share), according to early estimates. Granted, the finale of The Bachelor No. 15 was the lowest-rated season finale in almost three years (since Bachelor: London Calling on May 12, 2008) but it was up 29% versus its most recent regular telecast.  The finale earned a 4.5/12, rocked most of the female demos, and averaged 13.8 million.

After the Final Rose did even better: It lured 13.9 million viewers and posted a 4.7/12 in the key demo. Lordy!

Fox was the second for the night in the key demo and total viewers. House earned a  3.5/10 and 10.2 million viewers, while The Chicago Code earned a 1.9/5 and 7.2 million.

And a special shout-out to Harry’s Law: The NBC drama averaged 10 million viewers, delivering its best total viewer performance since Jan. 31 despite the competition from that freakin’ After the Rose trainwreck. Take that, Ken Tucker!

'V' producer on second-season finale: 'The best of the show is ahead'

If all goes according to executive producer Scott Rosenbaum’s plan, tonight’s V season finale will be a hugely dramatically satisfying hour — and will still leave viewers wanting more.

That choice, to end V with a cliffhanger despite being very much on the bubble for a renewal, was made back in October. In the middle of production, ABC told Rosenbaum that the show’s order was being reduced to 10 episodes, leaving the writer-producer with little time to figure out how to finish up Season 2.

“We had been given an initial episode order of 13, so I had planned a 22-episode season,” Rosenbaum tells EW, referring to the usual “back 9″ pickup that most shows receive if they’re delivering strong ratings. “When they reduced the order, I had to make a decision. I didn’t feel like it was possible to wrap the show in that amount of time, so I said, ‘You know, I’m going to hope there’s another season, because I’ve pushed the story too far [and] it won’t make sense [to conclude it this soon]. I don’t feel like the audience will feel like we’ve earned those moments.’ So I’m going to keep my fingers crossed and leave it organically where I think the show should end after 10 episodes. I went with hope, and tried to make it feel like a satisfying conclusion.” READ FULL STORY »

Ben Stiller PSA for the Onion News Network warns world of Shaken Manchild Syndrome -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Categories: EW Exclusive, Television

Ben Stiller has paired with The Onion News Network for this very special public service announcement about one the country’s second leading cause of adult child death: Shaken Manchild Syndrome. In the heartfelt piece, Stiller recalls his own dark days as a manchild, which lasted until the age of 42, and urges people not to lose control with dealing with the not-so grown-ups in their life.

Two things, readers: 1) The website flashed at the end of the video doesn’t exist. Do you think they put a recovering manchild in charge of creating it and he just never “did it later”? And 2) Will you Tweet your support for this cause? If so, please use the hashtag: #ILoveYouButGetTheHellOutofMyHouse

The episode featuring the startling and eye-opening clip airs Friday, March 18 at 10 p.m. on IFC. The season finale airs March 25.  READ FULL STORY »

'American Idol' contestant Casey Abrams on his health: 'I'm feeling really good'

Four days after missing Thursday’s results show episode of American Idol, contestant Casey Abrams told the public on Monday: “I’m feeling really good.” Abrams, who suffers from ulcerative colitis and had to forgo the show to get blood transfusions, made the declaration while sitting on an American Idol panel at the 28th Annual PaleyFest at the Saban Theater in Los Angeles. The healthy looking 20-year-old Illinois native attended the session, which was moderated by EW’s own Dave Karger, alongside eight of his fellow Idol contestants (the show’s minors Lauren Alania, Scotty McCreery, and Thia Megia were busy with schoolwork); judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler; executive producer Ken Warwick; and Fox’s head of alternative programming Mike Darnell.  READ FULL STORY »

Kristen Chenoweth has joined the cast of Good Christian Bitches, a drama pilot in development at ABC from the producing auspices of Darren Star. She’ll play Darlene in the sexy soap set in Dallas that also stars Leslie Bibb (Amanda), Jennifer Aspen (Sharon), Annie Potts (Gigi), Miriam Shor (Cricket), and Marisol Nicholas (Heather).

Here’s the official logline from ABC for the drama: ”This primetime drama … asks the questions – is it possible to start over in a town that thinks they already know you? Amanda, once the ultimate mean girl in high school, returns home to Dallas after her marriage ends in scandal. Humbled, Amanda is nothing like the girl she once was, but as her old classmates reacquaint themselves with the new Amanda, will these “good Christian bitches” give her a second chance or is this their shot to seek revenge?”

Answer: Probably not, or there would be no series. ABC will decide in early May whether this pilot, among with many, many others, will make the cut for fall. See our ABC pilot wrap for all the details on the network’s development lineup.

Ack! Gilbert Gottfried’s Aflac duck is no more: After the actor tweeted a series of insensitive jokes following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the insurance company announced it was parting ways with the actor, who famously voices the Aflac duck in the popular commercials. “Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac,” Aflac Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Michael Zuna said in a press release. “Aflac Japan — and, by extension, Japan itself — is part of the Aflac family, and there is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times.” One joke that Gottfried tweeted: “I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, ‘They’ll be another one floating by any minute now.’” (UPDATE: Gottfried has apologized for his Tweets, while Joan Rivers defends him).

But don’t expect the duck itself to waddle away from your TV screens. READ FULL STORY »

'Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!' movie finds distributor, much-needed cash

Categories: Cable, Deals, Movie Biz

As is customary with just about every announcement from Gary Sanchez Productions –  the banner owned Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy — a pretty genius announcement went out today regarding the pending feature film based on Adult Swim’s Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job.

The film dubbed Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie that’ll mark the big screen debut of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim has nabbed a U.S. distributor and a financier. Shooting began this month in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. “We were initially apprehensive of the unprecedented price tag of the film, but apparently we agreed to it after having a drink with Tim and Eric,” said financier Todd Wagner, the CEO of 2929 Prods, in a very tongue-in-cheek statement.  “Actually, it’s all a little bit fuzzy. Regardless, we now realize that it would be foolhardy not to participate in what is sure to be the grandest entertainment ever presented to mankind.” Added Ferrell, in a statement: “You can’t put a price on creative excellence and we didn’t. Maybe we should have, but we didn’t.”

Wagner, along with his business partner Mark Cuban, are expected to perform cameos in the film. There is no release date for the film which will be distributed by Magnolia Pictures.

Heidecker and Wareheim have produced five seasons of Tim and Eric for Adult Swim.

Another celebrity weighs in on the Sheenpocalypse: Seth MacFarlane, who worked with Charlie Sheen during the Two and a Half Men star’s guest stint on Family Guy last year, said Warner Bros., made the right call in dismissing the actor.

“You know, it’s a tough question,” MacFarlane told EW at The Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump. “My personal experience with Charlie on Family Guy was perfectly pleasant. But given the circumstances, I do think [Warner Bros.] made the right choice. It’s hard to say if it can go on without him.”

Asked who he would nominate to replace him if the show continues, MacFarlane thought for a  moment and suggested Sam Rockwell. READ FULL STORY »

You may not have heard this before: Extreme Makeover is getting a spinoff. And you definitely have not heard this: The new series has a premiere date.

Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition documents the radical physical changes of “super obese” people (roughly 200 pounds or more overweight) who set out to lose half their body weight over the course of a full year. Each of the eight one-hour episodes will show a person going through a truly extreme transformation that has never been attempted for a reality TV series: Compressing a year’s worth of diet and exercise into a single hour.

Trainer Chris Powell (TLC’s The 650-Pound Virgin) will coach each of the eight participants through their transformation process, with 3 Ball Productions/Eyeworks USA producing.

The show will debut on ABC on Monday, May 30 at 10 p.m., running after The Bachelorette (and for those who missed it, EW broke the news this morning that both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have been renewed).
