CBS shoots and scores, but 'DWTS' doesn't skip beat

CBS dominated on Monday because of the NCAA Championship but Dancing with the Stars still managed to emerge as the night’s most-watched show, according to early results. More than 21 million people tuned into see poor Maksim Chmerkovskiy take a spill with partner Kirstie Alley (brother, we hurt with you). The show came in second in the adult 18-49 demographic (4.6 rating/12 share) behind CBS’ telecast of college basketball (6.7/16).

As a result, ABC was first for the night in total viewers (18.1 million) followed by CBS (14.3 million). CBS won in the demo (5.0/13).

NBC had a tough night with its freshmen series. The Event (1.2/3, 2.4 million) was flat with last week and tied as its series low, while Harry’s Law (1.3/3, 7.4 million) was down 19% from last week and was at a series low. Fox aired repeats.

The basketball game was a massive let down after a good tournament. Poor Maks got rolled by a linebacker. At least Chuck is back next week for NBC.

I wish Maks had said things a little differently when they interviewed him after the fall. Saying that his leg gave out or collasped(can’t remember the exact phrase) makes it seem like he was saying her weight caused him to fall when he totally fell all on his own and brought her down with him. But they had a helluva recovery afterwards. Still, one of the top performances of the night. I hope they don’t get voted off tonight. I voted for them at least 50 times last night, website, phone, and texts combined.
