‘COMMUNITY': BRITTA’S BIG DAY…ON SHIRLEY’S BIG DAY

The newest member of our favorite community-college study group is on its way — and ahead of schedule.

Community fans have been eager to learn who fathered Shirley’s (Yvette Nicole Brown) baby, and we finally get a definitive answer in the April 28 episode when Shirley goes into early labor. (We were told by Dan Harmon at PaleyFest that the audience would easily be able to tell who the baby’s father is.) Of course, it’s never that simple.

Shirley is unable to reach a hospital in time, and it leaves her at the mercy of the rest of the gang — namely Britta (Gillian Jacobs), who, despite trying to take control of the situation, finds herself “a little over her head,” Jacobs says. “Sometimes, with Britta, there’s a disconnect between the talk and the actions. Sometimes there’s big talk and not a lot of action. That’s one of my favorite things about her — she’s a hypocrite,” Jacobs says with a laugh.

But with Shirley unwilling to let Abed (Danny Pudi) deliver a baby — as he did earlier this season in the background of the “The Psychology of Letting Go” — Britta, in a heroic moment, has to “man up.”

“Jeff says to Britta, ‘C’mon this your moment,'” Jacobs explains. “We finally figure it out, in our own Greendale way. It’s not like we suddenly become ER.” Although, that’d be sort of awesome, no?

JOR-EL’s BIG LESSON ON ‘SMALLVILLE’

Dying of sadness over Smallville coming to an end? Well, don’t die yet! There’s too much great stuff ahead — like the May 6 episode, “Prophecy,” which finds Clark (Tom Welling) all dressed up (in a suit!!) to take fiancée Lois (Erica Durance) to the Fortress of Solitude to break the news of his impending nuptials to his biological father, Jor-El, the tough-loving Kryptonian. “It’s a very sweet, romantic scene that has a little surprise in it,” teases exec producer Brian Peterson. When Jor-El sets out to teach the pair a lesson, Lois and Clark “find themselves kind of living a day in each other’s shoes.” AKA: Power up, Lois!

“I think Jor-El’s parenting style has always been about making Clark learn lessons for himself. And this is an episode where he is sharing that lesson not only with Clark, but also with Lois. And so it’s about seeing Lois as a possible life partner for Clark,” he says.

But that’s not the only thing going on in this “very packed” episode. It also marks the return of Laura Vandervoort as Kara, who returns to move along the season-long mythology regarding DarkSeid. “We wanted to tie things up, yet rev things up for the finale,” Peterson teases. “We also have some cameo appearances from some familiar villains that have resurfaced. And at least one hero that has resurfaced, in addition to Supergirl. There’s a lot going on in this episode, but it’s really fun.”

As the show nears the end of its 10-season run, Peterson notes that the episode “should leave people very excited about our [May 13] finale.”

MATTHEW WILLIG ON HIS ADDITION TO ‘NCIS': ‘JEALOUSY’ WILL BE FELT WHEN NEW AGENTS ARRIVE

The power struggle between E.J. and Gibbs is about to hit new heights on NCIS — about 6-foot 8-inches to be exact.

Former NFL player Matthew Willig debuts (along with fellow newbie Alimi Ballard) on Tuesday’s episode as agent Simon Cade, an Ivy Leaguer with a brain that’s just as intimidating as his towering presence. Cade joins the NCIS team to help with the Port-to-Port killer case. Between his character’s photographic memory and 160 IQ, you’d think he’d be a dream addition to the team, right? Not so much, says Willig.

“The power struggle is there for who’s in charge and who’s going to take over the case. And then to have a couple of other people and EJ’s team come in to fully attack the case makes it even harder for the regulars to handle,” Willig teases. “As the episodes go on and the team gathers and the plot intensifies, there’s definitely a feeling of ‘Wait, what’s going on? Are these guys are stealing our thunder?’… There’s that jealousy thing that starts to happen as the case unfolds.”

Not that Willig or Ballard’s characters are to blame. In fact, the newest additions, and one member of our favorite team, get off on the wrong foot to say the least. “[Dinozzo and Cade] have a fun and interesting opening scene. There are some items that sort of give away how big I am, and so there’s a little bit of comedy that goes on there. When I come in, he’s sort of fooling around with my clothing that kind of give away how big I’ll be. It’s all in typical [Dinozzo] fashion,” Willig says, laughing.

But before you start to put the recurring characters in the “Do not like because they’re new” pile, Willig says fans might be surprised at the dynamic between Cade and his partner. “We’ve traveled around the world and become buds. We watch each other’s back. We have that team aspect,” he says. Hmm…sound familiar?

SIDE DISHES

House: Can’t they keep both Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) and Masters (Amber Tamblyn)?  She really is fitting in nicely with the group. – Dee
Agreed, Dee. And Wilde is right there with us. “I only got to spend one episode with her, and I love that woman. She is SO talented,” Wilde tells EW. “I think that there’s definitely a future for us. We were making up all sorts of spin-offs [laughs] because we call her Scrambler, so we’re like, Scrambler and Thirteen, Scorteen and Scrambler, Skirteen. We’re coming up with all these ideas!” Joking aside, Wilde did share a bit of good news: The door is left open for a return after Masters’ last episode. “I’m in her goodbye episode — but that’s really her episode. She does fantastic work in it,” she says. “There’s always a chance for her to come back.”

Is Wilson leaving House?!?! I’d die. His friendship with House MAKES the show. This can’t happen. Please tell me this isn’t true. — Morgan
Hold your hysterics there, Mo. As reported by TVLine, Sean Robert Leonard’s contract negotiations are still ongoing, so he is officially not signed up for next season. But that’s pretty standard. (See the Desperate Housewives question below.) It’s part of the business, so we shouldn’t necessarily read much into it at this point. The good news? I hear Wilson isn’t in any immediate danger come finale time. No major cliffhanger for him, either. Breathe easy, my friend. (Meanwhile, also try to forget how easily the show off’d Kutner when Kal Penn decided to leave the show. Gulp.) Sorry, I had to address it, but I stand by my not-worried stance.

90210!!!! — Shery
Mexico!!!! That’s where the gang is headed in the April 18 episode. The best part? It’s full of all the drama you’d expect: someone makes (fake) loud sex noises through the wall, there are several tragic attempts at speaking Spanish, there’s one monkey-caused injury, some vomiting, and some suntan lotion revenge. Best episode in quite a while? You bet! Also, Teddy meets up with an old friend who turns into a new “friend.” leading to a big revelation.

Thank you for the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia scoop. I love that gang! What else can we expect? — Eddie
I hope you like Jackasses as much as you like the gang. Star Glenn Howerton reveals that one script could bring Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, and Ryan Dunn of Jackass fame to Philly. “We’re trying to get them,” he says. “They’re all friends of ours, too. They wanna do it; it’s just a matter of working it out with their schedules.” Should they reject the offer, I humbly suggested blackmail. “I have some really bad stuff with Ryan Dunn. He’s a disgusting human being,” Howerton jokes. “That’s what we love about those guys.”

Many thanks for your love of Being Human! I’m thrilled/excited for the finale. Any scoop? — Liz
It is truly the gang’s finest hour thus far, especially when we learn exactly how much Aidan has done for Josh.

How are the contract negotiations going for the ladies of Desperate Housewives? — Ingmar
Still underway, I hear. And while the cast hashes it out in the negotiation room, I hear Susan (Teri Hatcher) will soon find herself in an interrogation room.

Hi Sandra, I am a BIG fan of both Glee and Supernatural, and I love reading your recaps and spoilers! That being said, I have been praying to our dear lord Grilled Cheesus for news that Supernatural will be renewed for a seventh season. Any chance for some savory Supernatural news? If none is available, I’ll take some tasty Glee tidbits!  -Jackie
Unless a certain network is looking for a fight, I’m guessing Supernatural is well on its way to renewal. I say that as a fan, of course. And as a warning [cracks knuckles]. On the matter of scoop, I’ll take Supernatural for $400. You know the alternate Titanic-twisted world I mentioned last week? Here’s one change you didn’t see coming in the alt-verse: Bobby’s salvage business has a different name — B & E Scrap Yard. This fact is more important than you think.

Vampire Diaries scoop, please! Preferably on the upcoming arrival of Klaus! — Alison
To add to what EW’s Mandi Bierly already dug out of Julie Plec, Kat Graham (who plays Bonnie) says the hype about Klaus is not an overstatement by any means. “I think [the viewers will] be just as freaked out as we all get when we’re in his scenes,” she says. “I hope that toward the end of the season, and into next season, that fans are really able to distinguish the difference between the characters and the actors, because he’s doing such a phenomenal job as Klaus, I want people to really see that and not be like, ‘Oh I hate you, you’re such an a**hole trying to kill Elena!’ He’s just an actor.…By the end of the season he might be either really hated or really loved.”

Is The Glades ever coming back to A & E? I love that show! — Nicole Erickson
Of course it is! Season 2 is well into production. And when they return, look for Callie’s husband, Ray, to cause much more friction between her and Jim — especially as Ray tries to slowly weasel his way back into her life. Jim = definitely not pleased.

I love Big Bang Theory…is there hope that any time soon Raj will finally deal with his ‘selective mutism’ and learn to speak to women when he is sober? After all these seasons it’s kinda getting dull, his whispering!!! — Melissa
Sort of. I previously teased an episode where a drug helps Raj along, but I haven’t heard anything otherwise. In sort of related news, I hear the finale is great, especially for fans of one pair on the show.

Please, some Bones would be greatly appreciated! — Hanna
Community isn’t the only baby announcement in Spoiler Room today. But in Bones‘ case, they’re giving us baby Hodgela in the big finale episode, which takes Bones and Booth to a Bowling Alley for a case. But you probably saw that coming — what with Angela ready to pop and all. What may surprise you, however, is who’s better at bowling: Booth, Brennan, or Max.

Thanks for the #gossipgirl #chuckandblair scoop. Any more hints? Will Chuck fight for Blair? Will Chuck and Dan fight it out? — @carlybb
When you say “fight” do you mean literally? If so, then no. Actually, if you’re a Chuck and Blair fan who is hating on the Hump, prepare for your hate to diminish a bit after the first episode back (airing April 18).

Can you please tell us anything about the Gossip Girl triangle that will most likely be Chuck/Blair/Prince? We Chair fans would appreciate it. #savechuckandblair – Melissa
Sorry, my dear Chair fan, trust me when I say you won’t be excited to see the Prince. Something happens just before his arrival that will make you want to shove him back in the limo and send him home.

Hello! I’m from Slovakia and we watch Gossip Girl there, too! Thank you so much for last CB spoiler! It was amazing of you! I have one question that I would love you to answer! Are writers done with torturing Chuck? Will he be redeemed this season? — Magdalena
Of course they’re not done torturing Chuck! Let’s be honest, it’s fun to see him squirm a little. “I would say that Chuck will continue to grapple in these last five episodes with Bass Industries and all the secrets that he is learning,” exec producer Josh Safran tells EW. “Blair has always been the one place that he can go to talk about those issues — as witnessed by the end of the last episode that aired, where he is like, ‘I need to talk to Blair.'” Translation: Blair will be there to break the fall. We hope literally. Sorry, that was my bad attempt at a nasty joke. I won’t try that again.

I really enjoyed Body of Proof and would love some scoop! — Jodie
Is there a Body of Proof/Castle crossover in the works? Well, not officially. But Dana Delaney would love to see it. “I do think that Nathan Fillion should come on our show. I think that he should come on as Castle. I went on his show as Jordan Shaw, and because of that, I think I got this show,” she says. “All roads lead back to Nathan Fillion for me.” It appears she and I have something in common…

PLEASE. I need some NCIS! — Pam
You mean the above wasn’t enough? Pfft. Ungrateful…grumble…ehem. (Kidding.) Mike Franks (Muse Watson) and Trent Kort (David Dayan Fisher) will officially be rejoining the mix at NCIS to help hunt down the elusive port-to-port killer as the case heats up in the final episodes of this season. But will one of them — or another member of the team — not make it to the end? “Tracking the P2P killer will prove to be deadly for at least one of the people involved,” exec producer Gary Glasberg warns. I don’t like the sound of that…you shouldn’t either.

They kill Mike Franks & I’ll be PISSED

    • Sue1

I agree, I like Franks. Kort on the other hand, I could do without…as well as Vance.

      • TJCrinc

yes please kill vance. or have him fired for his behavior. Jenny went out with a bang and although i miss her, her exit was amazing. Vance is a giant douche, and always will be a giant douche. Mike franks is one of the coolest recurring characters, though i cant remember kort.

      • Red

I think Kort has been a terrific, edgy character! Sheeeez, they don’t all have to be lovable goofballs or lovable curmudgeons, do they?

    • Kate

Kort can definitely go, but I love Franks! I could see EJ not surviving as well. I don’t think the show would mess with the core cast though.

      • Esther

Remember Kate? Jenny? They have messed with the core cast! (I certainly hope they won’t, of course!) Gibbs, Ziva, Tony, Tim, and Abby are untouchable in my mind.

    • sw1970

      I agree!

    • Raechel

I’m with you that. Kill Trent never liked him to begin with.

    • something about mary

franks and beans, franks and beans, franks and beans

    • stiller

Something About Mary: “Franks and beans, franks and beans…”

    • AltDave

Amen! I could handle Franks as a regular. I’d love to see a flashback episode with him leading a probie Gibbs around!

    • CTU Chief

Keep Mike…Kill off either Kort (big jerk) or Vance (don’t know what his problem has been lately). Either would give the team something to investigate for awhile.

  • Bob

Bobby & Ellen Scrap Yard???? Though I can’t imagine how saving the Titanic stopped Meg from chasing them with Hellhounds.

    • Jenn

Yeah… this SPN scoop isn’t really a scoop. Aside from the name of the business, that info’s been out for weeks.

  • Fridge

B&E has to be Bobby and Ellen. I always thought Bobby and Ellen would go good together. I know Jo’s going to be back for the Titanic-twist episode, but is Ellen? Losing those two last season really sucked.

    • Amy

Samantha Ferris confirmed she’d be back for an upcoming episode.

    • Anita

Jo is not back in the episode, Ellen is

    • amanda

Jo will not be back, Bobby and Ellen end up married because history is changed therefore Ellen and Bill Harvelle never happened therefore no Jo.

  • KristyC

I thought Trent Cort was arrested a while back for some dirty dealings.

  • Ada

I hope Blair absolutely tortures Chuck!!! BUT I want them together at the end of it all. I love their tension when they are fighting more than when they are together.

  • sunset

Thank you for the Smallville spoiler. Always luv an ep when focused on Clois!

Super-thanks to Sandra Gonzalez for posting such a beautiful pic of SV’s Lois and Clark in your gallery. Thanks too to The CW’s Jack Rowand

  • Olivia

Yes!!! More Chair news, its not the best but something is so much better than nothing at all.

  • Maria

Thank you so much for the Chuck/Blair spoilers! More angst to come but excited to see it!!!

  • Sandra

More Chair spoilers! That’s great! Thank you so much Sandra! I can’t wait for episode 18! Ugh. The Prince! Hopefully he won’t be around for too long. When will they stop torturing Chair fans?

  • Alexi

when blair has issues she goes to Dan!

    • Steph

It’s funny how only the Chair fans get spoilers on here- maybe this site will throw a bone to the rest of us who don’t want to see Blair run into the arms of a the girl who traded her for a building.
      She needs a prince(actually a pauper) not a p i m p.

  • Vanessa

More Chair spoilers! So happy! I’m so glad they’ll be interacting again. Bring on the angst! The show isn’t the same without them.

  • Sally

No House without Wilson, he’s the only one really needed on the show. No Holmes without Watson either, so… I really hope he’ll be back for season 8, if there is a season 8.

  • Joy

YAY! For the Chuck and Blair spoilers!!! They sound tough, but hopefully there is a payoff! Thank you so much for all the Chair questions!

  • Iza

Thanks for the Chair news! We are going to hate Dan less after the next episode..this is good news! Yay!

  • Kate

I’m guessing the baby is Chang’s on Community if you can tell right away. The baby not showing Asian characteristics wouldn’t mean anything since kids don’t always reflect both of their parents characteristics, so for the parentage to be obvious it has to take after Chang. (unless of course it comes out of the womb wearing a crazy Cosby sweater!)

    • Dave

I was thinking the same thing, Kate.
