HBO’s low-fi animated series The Ricky Gervais Show is getting a third season.
The series hasn’t been much of a ratings draw for the network, but Gervais is a good brand fit for HBO and the show — which animates the popular podcast hosted by Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington — is not expensive to produce. The show is currently airing on Friday nights.

Awesome! This is a really funny show–glad to be able to keep seeing it!
Best news I heard all day. That show is my favorite!
Hopefully we’ll hear more about the Clive Warren oeuvre.
That was pretty much all that was said about Clive Warren. However, Karl has pitched a new movie idea – watch out for that.
Brilliant
Fantastic! So is this officially Ricky’s longest running show?
It’s nice to have a network that recognizes talent, unlike the round-headed buffons at the major networks. Hurray!! more Karl Pilkington.
I love the way this show is animated. Even though I had previously listened to all of the original podcasts, I find myself tuning in again!
Ricky actually announced this on his blog yesterday. I couldn’t be happier…best comedy on television.
Great News! I love hearing Karl bust Ricky and Stephen up.
