The news only gets better for fans who are anxiously awaiting the return of Jack Bauer: Uber-producer Brian Grazer recently tweeted that he’s on board for long-gestating 24 movie.

“Got off the phone Keifer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the 24 movie for next year,” he tweeted.

Grazer’s involvement makes sense since Imagine Entertainment, the company he co-owns with Ron Howard, produced the long running action drama for Fox.

Last month, Kiefer Sutherland told the women of The View that the movie will come out in 2012.

I heart Tony Almeida. Follow me @EWLynette

      • Oladipupo Gabriel folorunsho

I am very excited to hear it.looking forward to see my jack bauer.pls make sure chloe&kim are there.Tony must not die.

  • bauerpowerhour

    Bauer up.

  • sam

    YEAHHHHHH BOIIIIIII

  • Ted

I actually want to see this. Two things: Chloe has to be in it and Tony Almeda has to be allied with Jack again.

    • Diletta

      I absolutely agree with Ted!!

      • Walt

I’ll third that, after it’s scientifically proven fact that 24 is always 37% better when Tony Almeida is around.

      • Mike

Even IF they wrote him back to life, I’ll agree too lol

    • Garry

I’d pay to see it only if Chloe is in it. I agree that it would be good to have Kim Raver, too.

    • ihatescreennames

Also, Jack HAS to have his murse/manbag which seems to hold more stuff than my bookbag purse.

      • Sally

total YES on Jack’s murse/manbag – he’s the only guy to make that cool!

    • Opeyemi

I went kim, chloe and cola to this movie too

  • SparkyUK

2012! That long to wait. Damm It Chloe!!!

  • Dc

    WE’RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!

  • deedeedragons

Has to have Chloe, Kim Raver but not Kim Bauer.

    • Brian

Chloe, yes. But hold off on both the Kims. One more annoying than the other…

    • Flip

Hell no to Kim Raver—Audrey was a dreadful character. But Kim Bauer should be in this. I always loved her and I can’t stand that people hate her for no good reason.

      • Opeyemi

        That’s trust

      • moira

Perhaps all those people just hated the writers of all those horrible lines and inadvertently took it out on Kim

  • DVS1

Makes sense to finally have a “24″ movie. Jack Bauer needs to join his fellow bad-ass big screen “J.B.ers,” James Bond and Jason Bourne… I’d like to definitely hear Jack say something a little stronger than “Dammit, Chloe…” Also, instead of the iconic digital clock countdown, how ’bout a “Body Count” meter?

    • joblo

Totally! Jack Bauer has surpassed those guys, as well as Chuck Norris and all the rest IMHO. But you’re right that he deserves his place as a movie icon now too. I’m gonna need a hacksaw…

    • Larry

Hell Yeah! And also a “Bullets shot at Jack but missed” counter in the corner. Possible a “Knife swipe” counter too. Jack freaking rocks!

      • Michael

No they need to count how many bullets Jack can take. Jack will never die.

    • Maps

Without the digital clock count down it will be just another movie that we’ll soon forget – 24 will lose its identity.

  • ajay C

This is all terrific news. What I really want to know though is will be writing and directing the movie. I truly hope Ron Howard directs.

  • Fortune

Sweeeeeeeeeet! Give Jack a pistol & the layout of a place and it’s on! Cant wait. My 24 dvds will hold me over til then.

  • Sharon A

Whoop! Best news I have all week:)

  • sharp

YES finally!!!!,Agree With Ted And Walt It Has To Have Tony Almieda….

  • AB

    Let the countdown begin!

  • Chris

    WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR!?!?!?!?!

  • drpolisci

Yeah. I have to see Jack! Especially after Keifer and Chris Noth mooned the audience when they recently participated in a fashion show wearing kilts. Love it. I miss my baby’s daddy.
