'Wipeout' host leaving show

Wagner

Perky Wipeout host Jill Wagner is exiting the ABC show after four seasons, the show’s production confirms.

Wagner is leaving by choice, sources say, and wants to focus on her acting career. One can understand this, right? You can only laugh at people being smacking in the head and falling into muddy water so many times before you start to go a little batty.

You can still see Wagner on the upcoming summer edition of the show, which is now casting for a new host.

well, there goes my only reason to watch the show..

    • man in black

DAMMNN!! She was the only real reason I watched! She’s so beautiful!! *droolss…

      • LOL

So hot! She needs to be on a comedy series.

      • David

Jill is the best part of the show. I was about to stop watching wipeout when I found out Jill was leaving. Whatever she show she lands in I will watch. I hope it’s not some night soap?

    • Alan

Well, if you are referring to looks, I guess..But I actually find her annoying, not funny and kind of pointless to the show.

    • Nice Try

Damn. I agree 100% She is one of the most attractive women on TV. She is HOT! This sucks.

  • Peter

    Who?

    • TQB

Probably this is why she’s leaving…

    • John Charles

JILL WAGNER, one of the hosts of the show. Tune in and you’ll see her.

  • HoHum

    slow news day?

  • Doug

You got that right! She is the ONLY reason to watch. She will do well in her next life; she’s great. Good luck JW!

  • MWeyer

Sad as liked her but she deserves a real series role (still remember her in the all-too-short-lived “Blade” show.)

    • tim

Yes, Jill was awesome on Blade.

      • krayzeman

        That Blade series was awesome…

  • OCC

oh man, I might be gay and all but she’s still the only reason I tune in, she’s confident, funny and hella sexy!

    • sosgemini

      Ditto!

    • Alan

I don’t get all the love for her. I find her to be really annoying, far less funny that she thinks she is, not “goofy” and “oddball” like she thinks she is, and kind of pointless. The Johns are so much funnier.

  • bgl

Oh, bummer! I like the show because it truly cracks me up at times. And one of the funniest of things about the show is the comments she makes. She’s pretty funny. I mean its funny to see somebody get hurled God-knows how many feet in the air, but a funny comment only punctuates the matter.

  • Quirky

They should make her run the course before she leaves.

  • jessica

“You can only be laugh at people being smacking in the head and falling into muddy water so many times before you start to go a little batty.” James, have you been playing Wipeout? You aren’t very coherent.

  • TQB

That’s a shame – she has that unique gift of being funny, cool and super hot whilst not alienating female viewers. But she can obviously do better.

  • Bobby

Huge bummer!! She’s the rare hot chick who actually IS funny, not just thinks she’s funny. I hope she goes on to bigger things but I will definitely miss her on Wipeout.

  • Corey D

    Noooooooooooo!!!!

  • Donald

Sad, but it’s true I only watched for the glimpses of Jill Wagner in between shots of people getting hit by machinery and falling into foamy water.

  • Elle Fanning

A typo in a boring story about a pointless host. Nice work EW. Guilty pleasure shows like Wipeout and America’s Funnyless Home Videos have hosts that are annoying and in the way of what you really want to see.

  • DJ

To focus on her Mercury commercials??–Can’t blame her for leaving. They gave her nothing to do on Wipeout.
