'Dancing With the Stars' eliminated contestant: 'There is a reason for everything in life'

SPOILER ALERT: Don’t click through if you don’t want to know who was booted off Dancing With the Stars last night. If anyone’s a good sport about losing, it’s Petra Nemcova. The supermodel, and fourth contestant booted from Dancing with the Stars, smiled through her first week score of 18, giggled at criticism from the judges, and had nothing but gratitude and kisses — three on alternating cheeks, to be exact — for everyone on Tuesday night’s results show that sent she and partner Dmitry Chaplin packing.

“There is a reason for everything in life. I believe that what’s happening is that something new and beautiful is beginning. I came here to raise awareness about Happy Hearts Fund. That has been achieved. So many more people know about Happy Hearts Fund and the work we do to rebuild the lives of children after natural disasters,” Nemcova, a tsunami survivor, told reporters after the show.

But ironically, the model thinks that it might have been her promotion of the Happy Hearts Fund that sent her home this week. “Today, which kind of surprised me a little bit, Dmitry was saying that some people were saying that I talk about Happy Hearts to get votes,” she explained. “That hurts because it’s not true. It’s who I am. Happy Hearts is my life. It’s not to get votes, so that’s maybe something that didn’t translate completely.”

Chaplin added that he felt the packages are “so compressed” that viewers might not have seen “how much fun it was” for the pair.

Nemcova and Chaplin’s loss marked just another topsy-turvy moment for season 12, where a different couple topped the scoreboard almost every week. Nemcova was No. 1 in week 3 with a high score of 25, tied with Hines Ward, who is consistently in the top 3. But, the following week, the model’s score dipped to 23, and then dipped again to 22 this week, which was the low score of the night, tied with Ralph Macchio and Kendra Wilkinson.

“It’s so sad,” said Chelsie Hightower, Romeo’s partner. “You never know what is going to happen on this show. It’s all about America’s votes. She is such an amazing person. And I found out that she actually came on this show just to promote her Happy Hearts charity. And she dedicates 90 percent of her time to that charity. She is such a great role model.”

Echoed Chelsea Kane: “It’s bittersweet, we’re so happy to be back [next week] but to lose Petra, who is such a light on our show and so beautiful inside and out…. No one can compete with Petra when it comes to kindness.”

Up next on Dancing with the Stars is Guilty Pleasure Week, where the remaining seven contestants will be dancing to well-known, but somewhat embarrassing-to-like songs.

Though the dancers and celebs are ordered not to reveal their musical numbers, Kirstie Alley’s Bad Boy of Ballroom and self-proclaimed “Sex on a Stick” Maksim Chmerkovskiy ignored the rule, saying, “What, are we going to get fired?” before revealing that the two would be dancing to Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time.” But don’t expect to see Alley in a schoolgirl outfit.

“No,” said the 60-year-old actress. “We’re gonna do it sort of straight.”

The judges are being way too careful of Kirstie’s ego. She should have gone before Petra. Hopefully they won’t babysit her thru the final. That would be a shame.

    • Kiki

Completely agree. She knows she is safe through to the final show and can do no real harm no matter poorly she dances. Last night putting them in the ‘at risk’ category was so bogus, you could almost laugh about it. I wish she had been voted off.

    • Tania

Probably true about Kirstie. I think that the viewing audiences just didn’t get enough drama from Petra. She’s just too sweet, so I think she was kind of overlooked in general, imo.

    • ANNIA

I’m sad to see Petra got voted off, but sadder still to see that gorgeous & talented Dmetry never gotten a chance to hold that mirror ball trophy.

  • Barbara Randazzo

Petra was a far better dancer than Kirstie but someone has to go each week and Kirstie will be going soon. I just hate to not see Maks every week when she does!!!

    • caryn c

I suspect that some people are voting to put maks through, not just kirstie.

      • A

And that’s a problem because? It’s been said before… it’s a popularity contest, not a who’s best contest. More weeks of shirtless Maks is fine with me!

      • kim

Kirstie and Maks are a fun couple. They bring entertainment to the show. Would be boring if they are voted off. I hope it will be Kendra next. She has too much bad attitude.

Joy,The class is three days a week starting at 5:30 AM on Monday and Thursday and 6:30 AM on Saturdays. One day we will trgaet cardiovascular endurance by performing longer, lower intensity exercises like jogging, Spin bike or a combination of exercises. Another day is focused on a mix of higher intensity and muscular development. The final day we will focus on high-intensity, low duration exercises (sprints, running stairs, etc.) and a variety of functional exercises that will help strengthen your overall body. This is a community course and is for all levels. I have run this previously and have had members achieve some excellent results.I hope this helps. Please feel free to write again if needed.Jim

Kirstie will be dancing her way to Golden Corral.

    • Mar

      that was just mean

      • Brint

        …and hilarious

  • GS

Forget Kirstie who at 60 is doing way better than any other token “old” person ever has. That skanky ‘ho Kendra should be gone! She can’t dance and has absolutely no class! She needs to stick to dancing on poles not in the ballroom!

    • maryann

    • kellie piper

Wow little jelous of Kendra are we?? If you have ever paid attention to her life out of the playboy mansion, you would see she is a great person. and not skanky at all.

      • SLB

Jealous (that’s how you spell it) of Kendra? Skank that shows her snooch to the world. Had to screw an 85 year old man to get famous? Acts like an idiot on tv. Right.

      • Soap On A Rope

        @SLB What is a snooch?

  • Rocksi

Kirsty’s a hot mess–every week she pulls a stunt to stay on the show…first the makeout with Maks, then the fall, then her shoe falling off, then her Scientology buddy showing up…stop it! And get back on weight watchers!

    • Deadhead

Her trying to be cutesy each week is just sickening to watch. She’s a 60 year old trying to look and act like a 22 year old. She probably thinks it is funny, when in fact it is just disgusting

      • Chacha

You better hope that you reach the age of 60 and that you are just as hot as Kristy. Go Kristy girrrrrrrrrrrl.

  • nancy budziszewski

Kirstie should go she is not a very
good person in my book she is kind
of pigish through her dance and the way she talks and her actions
I am voting for Hines Ward his smile lights up a room.

  • greta

I was rooting for Kirstie, but not as much anymore since she is always looking bored, glum etc. if not on camera. She appears that she is above this. Too bad, I love Maks!

    • Sheryl

I get that feeling as well that she thinks she’s above this.

      • K

Interesting. I don’t get that impression at all. I think she’s having a great time and is totally taking the competition seriously. With a joke and a smile, of course, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care.

    • Dayna

Her demeanor, which might be coming across as bored or glum, could just be nerves and/or concentration, and maybe a little apprehension about what’s going to go wrong next. We’ve seen it before, that movie/tv actors get really freaked out by the live aspect of the show. And when I think of stars who seemed “above the show”, I think of people who weren’t trying in rehearsals, who argued with their partners, who looked bored while they were dancing (Mya comes immediately to mind). Kirstie seems to me like she’s really invested, and her nerves just bubble up on show nights.

      • @Dayna

        Very good points.

I create a cmemont whenever I especially enjoy a post on a site or if I have something to contribute to the discussion. Usually it’s a result of the sincerness displayed in the article I browsed. Could it be just me or does it seem like a few of these responses appear as if they are coming from brain dead people? And, if you are writing on other places, I would like to follow you. Petra should have won, she’s such a doll!

    • Kat

She really came across as so incredibly sweet and genuine, I can’t believe anyone could accuse her of using her charity to get people to vote for her. I can understand accusing other contestants of that kind of thing sometimes, but Petra?? No way. She’s one of the sweetest personalities they’ve EVER had on DWTS. And I’m rather ashamed to admit that before the season started, I thought that being a supermodel, she’d be kind of snobby or have an attitude or something. So…sorry, Petra! And keep up the good work with HHF.

      • Catherine

I totally agree about Petra. And from everything I have read and heard from behind-the-scenes people (such as reporters), EVERYONE loved Petra. She seems like a genuinely sweet person. And she’s a model, not an actress, so I doubt she’s faking it!

      • queue55

Well said! Petra was classy, sweet and totally genuine!

  • Sheryl

Maks just proved my point last night that he’s hot as long as he keeps his mouth shut and now I think he just might be gay.

  • Catca

Why does a hit show need to fan gossip flames for ratings? It’s a bit unnecessarily desperate for the show to capitalize on the rumored romance of Ballas and Pia Toscano by having him dance to her singing when the girl doesn’t have a record contract yet or a single to promote. This is not a knock against Pia or Ballas, but against the show.

  • Anne

What happened to Ralph Macchio? I thought his dance this week was great, but the judges were brutal to him. Unfair! He’s adorable!!

    • K

They really lowballed him. I think he was just a victim of going first when the energy in the room was still low. I thought it was a really solid take on a samba, particularly to Sweet Home Alabama. Not worthy of 9s, maybe, but I was really surprised he got 7s for it.

  • Mayve

Models never get very far. Does not matter if they are good or not.

    • K

Joanna Krupa got really far. Further than she really deserved, and all because of how good Derek is at choreographing to hide weaknesses.

  • Catherine

And what was Stacy Keibler’s claim to fame? Wasn’t she a model? And she almost won!

    • ANNIA

I think she was on some kind of wrestling show & her long, long legs.

  • Joe Petitjean

Petra should not have gone home..It should been Kendra are Kristie. Stop voting for Maks!!!!

  • hippitykit

Kirstie is consistently one of the most fluid dancers as she follows Maks from step to step and in direction changes (yes, even with the accidents – I’m talking about when they’re both on their feet). You can see Kendra almost stop before going in a new direction, no fluidity there. But the two that have improved the most each week are Chris and Romeo. Guess I better get off my butt and vote so they don’t leave. Sorry to see Petra go, was hoping it would be Kendra.

    • @Hippitykit

I agree with you. Kirstie shows smooth lines and very clean moves. It’s too bad people only see her weight or her hair and use that to insult her. I’m also sad to see Petra leave, but considering what’s happened before on this show, I’m not surprised.
