FX’s Wilfred has the funniest pilot I’ve seen since Modern Family, and now the show has signed up another guest star (Chris Klein and Rashida Jones have both signed up for guest roles): Malcolm in the Middle matriarch Jane Kaczmarek.

Kaczmarek (The Simpsons, Raising the Bar) plays a woman who gets into a car accident with Elijah Wood’s character Ryan.

Wilfred is about a suicidal uptight guy played by Wood who suddenly sees his neighbor’s dog as a crude Australian man in a dog suit who urges him to indulge in life’s baser pleasures. FX hasn’t announced a premiere date yet, but the show is expected to launch sometime in June. Here’s the best of the show’s trailers: READ FULL STORY »

Mike Tyson is stepping into the primetime ring.

The former boxing champ has signed up for a guest spot on Fox’s new comedy Breaking In, appearing as himself on the show’s first season finale.

Tyson plays a new client of Contra Security who becomes involved in a case that’s investigating a teen cyber bully. The bully causes Oz (Christian Slater) and his Contra team to go undercover at a high school (à la 21 Jump Street).

Last week, Breaking In premiered as Fox’s highest-rated live action sitcom telecast in years (its second episode, which guest stars Alyssa Milano, airs tonight after American Idol, with NASCAR champ Jimmie Johnson next week). Tyson will also appear in this summer’s The Hangover 2.

'Chuck' gives 'Game of Thrones' shout-out -- VIDEO

Chuck gave a funny shout-out to fans of Game of Thrones. Instead of describing the brief bit, it’s probably better if you just watch the video clip below. Chuck‘s fourth season is airing Monday nights on NBC, while HBO’s adaptation of Thrones gets underway this Sunday (check EW.com for full coverage). Here’s the scene from Chuck: READ FULL STORY »

'Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution' doesn't cause one in the ratings; good night for 'Parenthood'

Gee, what would have happened if it were opposite an original of Glee? The premiere of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution on ABC only managed to post a 1.4 rating/4 share among adults 18-49 — down 36% from last season’s Sunday premiere on March 21, according to early results. It averaged a 5.3 million and was ultimately crushed in viewers by NCIS (19.2 million) and The Biggest Loser (which averaged 7.1 million over two hours).

CBS ended up winning the night in the demo (3.0/8) and viewers (15.5 million), with NCIS earning a 3.8/12, followed by NCIS: LA (3.3/9, 15.3 million) and The Good Wife (2.0/5, 10.9 million). NBC came in second in the demo (2.4/7) with Loser earning a 2.6/7 and Parenthood posting a 5% gain to a 2.0/5 (you just had to have sex, didn’t you Haddie?). The drama attracted 5 million.

ABC finished third in key demo because of the Dancing With The Stars results show (3.0/8, 15.4 million) and Body of Proof (up 4% from last week to a 2.5/7, and 11.1 million). Fox aired repeats of Glee and Raising Hope, though that was an original of Traffic Light (not that you saw it: it ony posted a .9/2 and 2.2 million). CW also aired reruns.

Charlie Sheen says he's been in talks to return to 'Two and a Half Men'

Could Charlie Sheen return to Two and a Half Men this fall?

As unlikely as a reconciliation may seem after all the viscous insults he’s hurled against his former employer Warner Bros. and Men showrunner Chuck Lorre — not to mention his $100 million lawsuit against both parties — the Warlock claims he’s been in talks to get his old job back.

“There’s been discussions, but I was asked not to divulge anything,” he told Boston radio station WBZ-FM on Tuesday night. “Had they told me at the end of season 8 that that behavior wasn’t going to be cool, I would have adjusted it.”

Sheen also suggested he’s not receiving money for his back-end participation on the hit show. “I’m supposed to [be getting paid], but that’s — what’s the term? — being withheld,” Sheen said. READ FULL STORY »

'DWTS' eliminated contestant: 'I'm screaming inside'

It looked as if Kendra Wilkinson was the next one to go on Dancing with the Stars but it was actually the good-natured Sugar Ray Leonard — who Carrie Ann Inaba accused of jogging during his Viennese waltz on Monday – who was sent home on Tuesday.

After the show, Leonard admitted that his ouster was completely unexpected since he woke up that morning feeling “extremely positive,” despite earning only 21 out of 30 points Monday. (Wilkinson, in comparison, earned a mere 18).  READ FULL STORY »

'Curb Your Enthusiasm': Go behind the scenes of season 8, which includes guest stars Michael J. Fox and Ricky Gervais

If you’re a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan, chances are you’re pret-tay pret-tay curious about how Larry David & Co. plan to top last season’s Seinfeld “anti-reunion reunion.” A new two-and-a-half minute behind-the-scenes peak at season 8 — half of which was shot in New York — doesn’t exactly open the answer vault, but it does tease some promising/awkward possibilities for the HBO comedy: Larry tells off a bunch of girl scouts! Larry plays softball and talks trash with Rosie O’Donnell! Larry bumps into Michael J. Fox (literally) and unleashes a Parkinson’s joke! Ricky Gervais, Michael McKean, Ana Gasteyer, and Bill Buckner swing by! (Oh, best to brace yourselves, Sox fans.) Season 8 of Curb kicks off July 10, and my delighting in the idea of Susie and Leon invading Manhattan begins now. READ FULL STORY »

'Chuck' actor Ryan McPartlin: 'Ratings could definitely use some help.' Plus, how he says his co-star Josh Gomez can help the cause

The ratings news from last night’s new episode of Chuck was far from what fans of the show were hoping for. But when EW spoke with Ryan McPartlin (Captain Awesome!) last week, he had a plan for this predicament. “The ratings could definitely use some help. You can tell everybody to tell three friends to watch — a good pyramid scheme. If some fan out there – because we have some die-hard fans — would like to come up with a good pyramid scheme to get more viewers, we’re all ears,” he joked.

Last night’s 4 million viewers and series-low 1.3 rating probably put a damper on the cautious optimism that McPartlin told us the cast was feeling, but he also said the pressure of life on the bubble was not foreign to them. READ FULL STORY »

'Being Human' finale best for Syfy since 'Battlestar'; 'Borgias' viewership slips

The first season finale of Syfy’s Being Human rose 17 percent to deliver 1.7 million viewers (1 million adults 18-49). That makes Being Human the network’s best winter series since Battlestar Galactica in 2005.

While over on Showtime, The Borgias grip on Sunday nights loosened a bit for the Showtime drama’s second episode. The historical series starring Jeremy Irons dropped 33 percent, delivering 1 million viewers across two epiosdes (700,000 for the premiere, 300,000 for the first encore). Last week’s premiere totaled 1.5 million across two airings.

Showtime points out its drop is in line with other Showtime freshman shows during their second weeks — Dexter and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire both dropped 31 percent.

'NCIS: Los Angeles': Barrett Foa talks Eric's first undercover mission (and secret relationship with Nell?)

In a series first, tech operator Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) goes undercover tonight on CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles to ensure classified technology remains secure after a rocket-engine expert is killed. (“They let the monkey out of his cage,” Foa jokes. “They promptly put him back in.”) The most obvious change was wardrobe. He got to temporarily trade in Eric’s standard surfer-dude flip-flops and shorts. “I’d look in the mirror and say, ‘Oh my God, I’m actually [wearing] shoes with laces and long pants. Who am I?’ My ankles have never been so warm.” But there was also the joy of location shooting. “I think the only time that Eric has been out of the ops center was to take Abby Sciuto [Pauley Perrette] from NCIS on a date, and she promptly got kidnapped on his watch. I think he was more successful this time,” he laughs. Really? The story called for filming in the desert, at an airport hangar, and on a farm. “There’s a horse that won’t behave — neighing and bucking during takes, and some guy with a stick chasing chickens trying to get them in the shot,” he recalls. “I was like, ‘This is different than the computer room in the ops center.’”  READ FULL STORY »

'Wipeout' host leaving show

Wagner

Perky Wipeout host Jill Wagner is exiting the ABC show after four seasons, the show’s production confirms.

Wagner is leaving by choice, sources say, and wants to focus on her acting career. One can understand this, right? You can only laugh at people being smacking in the head and falling into muddy water so many times before you start to go a little batty.

You can still see Wagner on the upcoming summer edition of the show, which is now casting for a new host.

Oh, no, McAbby fans! There’s trouble on the way — and he’s huge.

Former NFLer Matthew Willig (pictured, center) makes his debut tonight on NCIS as Special Agent Simon Cade, an intimidating genius with an eye for Abby. ”There’s been some talk about a connection I may or may not have with Abby, and I think there’s something there,” he teases. “I’m a new agent in a new town and I’m looking for someone to show me around.” (Willig and fellow guest star Alimi Ballard’s arrival was first teased in Spoiler Room.)

And you can bet McGee “will definitely get jealous as time goes on,” Willig says.  READ FULL STORY »

Revamped 'Law & Order: LA' sputters in ratings

law-and-order-la

NBC rolled out the latest incarnation of Law & Order: Los Angeles and, despite shuffling the cast, the show returned to a series low Monday night.

LOLA delivered 5.9 million viewers and 1.5 preliminary adults 18-49 rating, down 32 percent from its last original. Lead-in Chuck also did no favors for its renewal odds — 4 million viewers and a series low 1.3 rating.

LOLA and Chuck weren’t the only ones falling to new lows last night, though. ABC’s Dancing With the Stars (4.3) was down 9 percent to a cycle low. While Castle (3.1) rose 11% this week to win its hour.  READ FULL STORY »
