'Glee' extra who was fired for tweeting a spoiler opens up
“I had no idea it would blow up like this, I do regret it,” film student Nicole Crowther told a Los Angeles Times blog on Monday. Crowther was referring to the outrage that swept the Gleekosphere after she spoiled the identities of McKinley High’s prom king and queen via Twitter. Her tweet drew the ire of Glee fans as well as series co-creator Brad Falchuk, who chastised Crowther on his own Twitter by writing, “hope you’re qualified to do something besides work in entertainment.” In her defense, Crowther told the Times that though she’s appeared in several episodes of Glee as an extra, she was not even on set when the prom scene was filmed. Instead, she claimed that she heard the spoiler from another extra — and that she had no idea it was true until Falchuk responded to her message with angry tweets. As a result of the incident, Crowther was told that she’d never work on another Fox program again; she’s also been suspended from her extra casting agencies for two to three weeks.

Arizona congresswoman shooting gets 'Law & Order: LA' storyline -- EXCLUSIVE
An Arizona gunman’s rampage that resulted in a U.S. congresswoman being shot has inspired a storyline in an upcoming episode of NBC’s Law & Order: LA.
The primetime drama started filming today an episode where a female state senator is gunned down in a public setting. The storyline echoes an incident last January when a gunman shot U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in head and killed a federal judge, among five other victims, at a public meet-and-greet outside a suburban Tucson grocery store.
Stories taken from real-life headlines have been a part of L&O’s brand for decades and a rep for L&O: LA emphasized that the show is fiction.
Tonight’s episode of LOLA is loosely based on another real-life crime tragedy — the murder of publicist and power player Ronni Chasen. In the LOLA version, the character is a Hollywood stylist and the show airs at 10 p.m.
Peter Facinelli on a 'whole different' Coop on 'Nurse Jackie,' 'magical' 'Breaking Dawn' wedding scene

Peter Facinelli sounded a little exhausted when EW chatted with him on the phone last week — as he well should be. The actor has been flying to and from the set of Breaking Dawn in Vancouver, where the cast is filming “second unit” scenes (like stunts). What gives him an energy boost? Talking about what’s next for Coop on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, following a big, life-changing moment for the doc on tonight’s episode. He explains (SPOILERS ahead):
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So I hear something big is coming up for Coop this week. What can you tell us?
PETER FACINELLI: A bomb gets exploded in Coop’s life. He finds out that his two moms — who are basically his whole world — are getting a divorce. He gets blindsided by it, because he doesn’t see it coming at all. You know, Coop doesn’t take it well, and it spirals into a depression. It’s kind of sad for me to play that because Coop’s so energetic and hyper all the time. To have to play him in a funk it kind of sad. READ FULL STORY »
Showtime renews 'The Borgias' for second season

Showtime has renewed its lavish new period drama The Borgias for a second season.
The series, starring Jeremy Irons as a scheming pope, will return for 10 more episodes in the summer of 2012. “The Borgias has become Sunday night appointment viewing for a broad swath of our subscribers,” said Showtime president David Nevins. “Neil Jordan’s cleverly crafted tale of a 15th century papal family has proven quickly addictive. It’s a tribute to his incredible skills as an auteur and to the extraordinary cast led by Jeremy Irons that this show fits so seamlessly into our line-up of quality shows.”
Showtime points out that The Borgias has been pacing ahead of the final season of The Tudors in the ratings, averaging 1.1 million viewers per week. The pickup comes on the heels of HBO renewing their new costume drama last week, Game of Thrones.
Boston Rob to co-host travel show for History
After he finishes holding court with the ladies on Survivor, Robert “Boston Rob” Mariano will turn his focus to the History Channel to co-host in his own reality show. Together with Dennis Anderson (creator of the monster truck Gravedigger) the duo will host the upcoming series Around the World in 80 Ways, a 10-part series that’ll bow later this year. Their goal: Circumnavigate the globe using 80 different modes of travel without repeating any vehicle.
“This series captures History’s commitment to highly compelling entertainment within a historical framework,” said Dirk Hoogstra, History’s senior VP of development, in a statement. “The dynamic between our two hosts will make for great television, while viewers can journey around the world with them to explore the ingenuity of travel in every era, throughout all stages of technological advances.”
Apparently, Mariano and Anderson will “employ every conceivable means of transportation – blimp and fighter jet, ostrich and canoe, chariot and hitchhiking” to complete their trip. Mariano is a four-time Survivor contestant and a two-time competitor, along with his wife Amber Brkich, on The Amazing Race. Besides Gravedigger, Anderson has appeared on America’s Toughest Jobs and Monster Jam.
Around the World in 80 Ways is from Original Prods.

CBS’ high-profile — and very expensive — attempt to juice up its Evening News telecast is expected to come to an official end this week. A well-placed source told EW that Katie Couric, 54, will confirm that she’s decided to leave the telecast to pursue other opportunities. Her contract officially ends in June.
