The producers of the Fox hit plan to release Glee Live! 3D!, a film of the Glee concert tour. The film will have a two-week run starting Aug. 12.
“This tour was all about going out and performing for our amazing fans who have supported our show from the beginning, but due to the limited time we had to travel during our hiatus, there were only so many cities we could get to before we had to resume work on the television series,” said creator Ryan Murphy, who will also produce the film. “We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”
Kevin Tancharoen (Fame, Mortal Kombat: Legacy) will direct the film, which will include musical numbers such as “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Raise Your Glass,” “Teenage Dream,” and “Lucky,” as well as “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Ewwww…
HAHAHA!
word right out of my mouth. i mean, really? isn’t there enough overkill already?…hmmm…maybe it will bomb though and ryan murphy will go away.
First word that came to mind when I saw this headline was overkill as well.
Worst idea EVER!!!!
If all of you hate glee so much, why did you even bother reading this, let alone commenting on it? you all think your ‘too cool’ for glee, yet you still take the time to read articles about it, in reality your all hypocrites.
They need to milk this thing as much as possible right now.
True, seeing that Glee has peaked and it’s already on the decline in both quality and ratings.
I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to watch this incredibly lame show. It’s just an annoying stupid little piece of crap with a dumb concept, a self-righteous attitude, and pompous actors. Not to mention the attention-seeking celebrity guest stars. So glad that many of its fans are venturing away from it. I sincerely hope it gets canceled.
I hope they include River Deep, Mountain High. That was one of the best duets this season.
AGREE !!! THAT WAS MY FAVE!! THOUGH I NEVER HEARD THAT SONG BEFORE GLEE !! BUT I REALLY ENJOYED IT!!! the glee 3d cant b as bad as justin to kelly (yuck)
NO!
really?? stoopid idea!!
So do you need a sign that this show is running out of gas? Here it is folks.
Thats so good can’t wait
Go away pointless celebrities!
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is a pointless celebrity. Glee rocks!!! My whole family watches.
Oh, pipe down haters! Some people don’t have enough money to go to the concert tour, so it is really cool to hear that I can pay the price of a movie ticket to see it.
Nothing about watching Glee could be called “really cool”.
This movie will be another nail in the 3-D coffin
This movie is a nail in the MOVIES coffin.
@Thom: LOL. Exactly.
oh yah, i’m sure fox and all the producers were all like “let’s put it in theatres for those who cannot afford a ticket…” $$$$$$
overkill overkill overkill
When is “hater” going to go away and take “douche” with it?
As soon as the actual haters and douches go away…which apparently is never…I cant wait for this
As long as the cheap seats don’t cost $60, I’m in! Seriously, my daughter really wanted to go this summer, but couple that ridiculous price with having to travel 2+ hours to the closest city (Indy) and it was just too expensive.
OH NO, PLEASE!!! SPARE US!
STFU
You’re spared – no one’s ever going to force you into going.
Show’s not the same and the sue character had gone from great to just weird now
The show was charming for its first 12 episodes, then it began sliding.
This season? Awful. All of Ryan Murphy’s work turns awful, but this one was a record in awful-setting.
Basically, the show and this movie are commercials for all the Glee merchandise, CDs, downloads, etc.
Agreed. Actually, the first 13 episodes were the best (they all aired in 2009).
Thanks for saying this Ian. It’s a perfect dead on assessment of Glee, and Ryan Murphy. How soon we forget what he did to Nip/Tuck?
If there is an option of seeing the movie in 2D, as well as 3D, I think people should find out if the extra money to see the film in 3D is really worth it, before going to the cinema. Most movies released in 3D look just as good in 2D; Coraline, Avatar and Ghosts of the Abyss being the execptions to the rule. It’s supposed to run for two weeks, why not wait a few days to see if the 3D is any good?
The only part of Glee I’d like to see in 3D are Dianna Agron’s naked tiznats, heck I’d pay 15 bucks for that!
Funny, that’s how I feel about Sam’s balls.
she doesn’t even have a chest…
Plus none of their concerts were in Texas. So now I’ll get to see them at my local theatre.
Why would they do that, please stop this 3D crap no one wants it.
