It’s easy to see that MTV’s dark-looking Teen Wolf is no remake of the fun, ’80s cult classic with Michael J. Fox. But after seeing this behind the scenes clip, featuring an interview with Tyler Hoechlin — who plays the werewolf who turns awkward teen Scott McCall’s life upside down — am I alone in thinking this looks more like MTV’s answer to The Vampire Diaries? (That’s a compliment.)
Time will tell — and so will you, soon enough. The show’s two-night premiere airs June 5 — after the 2011 MTV Movie Awards — and Monday, June 6. The series then shifts to Mondays at 10 p.m.

'Teen Wolf' teaser: And this is a remake how, exactly?
I stumbled into this panel last summer at Comic-Con. I remember asking the guy I sat next to what we were watching, and he said, “Teen Wolf”. I said, “Really, no, what is it?”…
“…(sigh)…Teen Wolf. Really.”
Essentially it looked to be on the level of the Vampire Diaries. Not sure if it’s as clever with the dialogue, though.
The Vampire Diaries started off kind of rocky, so maybe there is hope!

I can’t wait to watch! It seems like vampires are everywhere, and I’ve been missing werewolves!
I plan on giving this show a chance. I’ve learned not to prejudge shows since “Being Human” came out. I thought for sure that show would suck, but now it’s one of my favs and since I’ll be watching MTV June 6 for the Movie Awards anyways, I’ll stick around that night to watch this too.
So nice to see he’s gotten a great job after 7th Heaven.
I will be disappointed if no one does a hand stand on a moving van in the pilot episode.
