Fox has renewed Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy and its spinoff The Cleveland Show.
No big surprise in either case: Family Guy will be back for a 10th season and Cleveland is getting its fourth. Fox also announced that the Family Guy finale will be its one-hour Return of the Jedi spoof that was released on DVD last year, while the Cleveland closer has the family going to Comic-Con. Fox has already renewed American Dad and The Simpsons, so with this the full Sunday night lineup will return. “For nine seasons, our viewers have been cracked up, delighted, surprised and, at times, gloriously disturbed by the mind of Seth MacFarlane — and they keep coming back for more,” said Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly. “The Griffins and the Browns have become cornerstones of our Sunday nights, and we can’t wait to find out what new adventures Seth, Mike and Rich cook up for them next season.”

Ughhhh. Fox is pathetic. MacFarlane should have been stopped at 1 show, then that 1 show might actually still be funny. Also, The Simpsons should have been taken to the barn and shot at least 6 years ago.
The public disagrees with you, elirist snob who hates ordinary people who work for a living.
maybe not compared to its own past, but compared to everything that airs on CBS, it’s gold.
I agree with you about both, Jeffrey.
There are few things that are vigorously defended as being “great” when they no longer are as “The Simpsons.” It’s not even a show anymore. It’s just a bunch of unfunny gags. The sad part is that it still COULD be funny. The potential is there. But any of the last fifteen seasons of “The Simpsons” have been uncreative and painful to watch. You’re in denial if you think otherwise.
Thank you,
Brian Wallace
I completely agree with you. 15 seasons ago was about when I stopped watching The Simpsons. I used to like Family Guy as well but since Seth started up American Dad and The Cleveland Show, Family Guy has suffered. Family Guy is still by far the best of the three shows.
AMEN TO THE SIMPSONS REMARK.
you’re a ditto head moron… this season simpsons has been great.
Simpson has been getting its writing back together. Watch American Dad that will get you back on Seth’s side.
and to think that Family Guy was at first cancelled when airing on Thursday nights up against Friends and Survivor… How the time have changed.
Does anyone else hate it when Family Guy uses unaired episodes they’ve released on DVD MONTHS before as Season Finales? SUCH a cop-out. Remember the Untold Story of Stewie anyone? At least they actually aired the first Star Wars spoof before the released it on DVD.
No I do not remember the untold story of stewie elaborate please.
agreed. they are also cut down for time and content, which takes a lot of the fun out of it.
This is indeed sad news.
The American public disagrees with you, elitist snob.
Animation Domination!!
Yeah, i love Family Guy. Dunno about Cleveland show though
WHAT ABOUT AMERICAN DAD? WAY MORE IMPORTANT.
Did you not read the article? It answers your question.
American Dad sucks
You suck
Better then Family Guy
American Dad is way better than Family Guy.
My reaction to this
Family Guy: Ehhh
Cleveland Show: Ughh
Family Guy s occasionally offensive, but at least its funny! Cleveland is offensive and NOT funny!
Yeah, I totally agree with you. Family guy is shocking, but the Cleveland show makes me ill. But, I don’t know that I’m ok with either being on network tv.
Meh, I expected as much. However, Family Guy has really dropped in quality and The Cleveland Show was weak from day one. American Dad is the best of the MacFarlane shows, and luckily, that one has been renewed.
Agreed. Cleveland is awful. Family Guy WAS funny, but is really bad now.
Yet, somehow, American Dad is great. Probably due to Seth MacFarlane not having that much creative input on it. Too bad it’s days look numbered after next season.
Cleveland Show is only in it’s 2nd season. How is it the story refers to the fourth season? Did they skip season 3 in there somewhere?
During Season One, or shortly after, they renewed it for seasons 2 AND 3 right there. So there’s that.
Family Guy is the funniest of these four and I’m so happy to hear it’s being renewed! The Cleveland Show could drop off the schedule and I would hardly notice. And yes, I agree it’s a cop out that Family Guy is running an epi that’s already been on DVD as a season finale.
Family Guy is okay, it was awesome when it first started but now, to me, they are way too outrageous and it’s not funny how they execute the joke. They think using a lot of sexual references is funny but no all the time!
Cleveland shouldn’t’ have been made in the first place, he was a weak character in Family Guy, so I have no idea how they though he was going to carry his own show. Cleveland needs to get cancelled.
Family Guys is not as bad as it has been its now very storybase
